For the 3rd straight year, Covid is the prime killer of Police Officers in the United States.  I know Coppers everywhere want to claim that they are facing here-to-fore unprecedented dangers on the job but, the truth is Police Officers are so incurious, so reactionary, so petulant that they would rather die of a illness which a few small steps could prevent just to Own the Libs all while slavishly adhering to the Propaganda Campaign of Faux News and the rightwing internet;

A new report released Wednesday by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund looked at preliminary data and found that 226 federal, state, tribal and local law enforcement officers died last year while in the line of duty. Of those deaths, 70 can be attributed to COVID-19. However, this is an 83% decline compared to the 405 officers who died from COVID-19-related complications in 2021.

281 Officers died of COVID-19 complications in 2020.  Meanwhile, Officers continue to fantasize about Fentanyl poisoning and delude themselves that BLM Thugs are around every corner waiting to murder them.  In reality, suicide and heart disease are the biggest killers of Police Officers and white men in America.

Conservatives don't actually care about Law Enforcement.  Blue Lives Matter has always been naught but, a rhetorical cudgel to Bash the Left.  When it comes to a macro respect for Law & Justice conservatives have shown time and time again that they believe the Law exists to afflict, constrain and punish women, LGBTQ, minorities, Democrats, and anyone who doesn't know their place and role in their White Supremacist Society. 

Understand the Right (in America and elsewhere) is now fully invested and in full agitprop attack mode that the Covid Vaccine causes myocarditis, blood clots, and is killing thousands of people daily because they can not admit they were wrong about Covid, they were wrong about mitigation factors like masking and social distancing, and they are wrong about the efficacy and protective nature of the Vaccination protocol.  Too admit any of that would be to admit the entire edifice of their political and personal belief systems are rotten and untenable. 

The Died Suddenly Twitter account, which boasts an authoritative blue check mark it received after paying $8 a month, memorializes a long list of people who, we are led to believe, died of the vaccine, including the voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, who very recently passed away from intestinal cancer. Except that scrolling through these names, it becomes apparent the list includes anyone who died suddenly, who died after a short illness, who died after a long illness, who died of cancer or of an immune condition or of a viral infection. Their vaccination status is often not even known. Basically, everybody dying after the vaccines were rolled out has now been killed by the jab.

It started with deliberately lying about the VAERS reporting in 2020, continued throughout the ridiculous magnetism and 5G microchip claims of lunatic rightwingers and has now coalesced into an international well-funded and powerfully motivated campaign.  Expect the misinformation, disinformation, and outright lies, to continue to grow and spread because The Killer Jab and DIED SUDDENLY narrative gives great power over peoples' lives to Rightwingers and that is what the Global Right wants; the Power to control you and the power to kill you. 

And if a few dozen Police Officers die?  Well their Thin Blue sacrifice is the price the Authoritarian Right is willing to pay in the quest to create their Fascist Dystopia.

North Carolina residents unhappy with having Nazi Goon Cawthorn in office, filed an objection and attempted to have him removed from a ballot for his sedition and insurrection but were told by Trump Judge Dick Myers the Second that removing Mad Nazi Cawthorn meant Trump supporters would be justified in shooting Democrats to win elections,

It is incomprehensible to me that a Federal Judge would use such language in a ruling.  But, Fascism is on the March and Authoritarians are more and more willing to be open about their goals.

You see conservatives believe the 2nd Amendment gives them a license to kill. Consequence free. They also firmly maintain the 1st Amendment exists only for them and proper government is meant to protect rightwing beliefs and actions.  Furthermore, natural laws and rights, as political theory, are a god-given phenomenon meant to comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted.

This is the whole basis of the concept of MAGA, of every rightwing grievance in the 21st century, and running back to the Civil Rights Era.  When the federal government began to aid the downtrodden (even if imperfectly and with gaps or mistakes) conservatives soured on the prospect of government itself.  And began their long run towards a more Authoritarian Union.

Rittenhouse was always going to be a grifter.  Kenosha Killer Kyle was always going to parlay his murders into dollars.  Like all murderers he wants to get paid for his work.  And like Zimmerman before him he'll receive envious adulation and fawning praise for a while from rightwingers who yearn to emulate his killings.  In the meantime, rightwing media will love to use him to go after President Biden.

Since Conservatives love Putin why are they pushing for War with Russia?

Contraception is about Control and Punishment

For Conservatives everything boils down to Control; controlling women, controlling who votes, controlling workers, controlling sex, controlling the media, controlling government. Control is so important to Conservatives because Right-Wingers are Authoritarians who can not handle freedom and hate individualism.

Once Right-Wingers have control they turn to punishment. The Conservative elections in 2010 showed Right-Wingers don't actually want to help America they want to harm people whom the hate and distrust. Now, Republicans while being abject evil and irredeemable slime are still crafty and shrewd so they will not acknowledge their fight is for totalitarian control but, instead will engage in a propaganda war. Thus we have Right-Wing Wailing Campaign, wherein they pound their breasts, pull their hair and are reduced to blubbering, about President Obama's War on Religion.

This could be an argument about Positive Liberty and Negative Liberty but, that would require an honest debate partner and Regressive Republicans are never, ever honest. Regressives aren't actually worried about the moral implications since all Americans engage in birth control techniques and use contraceptives. Nor are they worried about Government mandating to religious affiliated institutions healthcare coverage since 28 States currently have provisions mandating religious affliated healthcare insurance providers cover contraception.

What this is about is controlling sex. Pre-occupation with sex, (i.e. the easier access for woman and the acceptance of homosexuality) has always been a prime occupation of Authoritarians. All Republicans are Authoritarians and once a society embraces human rights, Authoritarians lose power.

Once women are no longer tied to the pregnancy/birth cycle they can exercise power in society and that is something the Catholic Church and Conservative Authoritarians have always loathed/feared. Because more people involved lessens their control. More voters lessens their chances of controlling government.

So, the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Catholic Church has declared War on President Obama. Catholic ass Cardinal Francis George weighed in using his religious authority,

“We cannot — and will not — comply with this unjust law,” states the cardinal, who is vehemently opposed to the new Obama administration rule requiring religious organizations to include contraceptive health insurance coverage.

This is the same man who declared, "You don’t want the gay liberation movement to morph into something like the Ku Klux Klan, demonstrating in the streets against Catholicism."

It's well past the time when religious figures should be openly mocked for their false authority and the millions of wasted hours ruminating about a how many angels can dance on the head of a molested child. An individual working for a Jewish-affiliated Hospital can't be docked pay because he eats pork outside work, and a Catholic affiliated Hospital can't give less healthcare benefits to an individual who breaks one of their silly precepts.

The easiest answer is if you don't like rubbers and birth control pills then don't buy them, but that's not good enough for the Regressive Conservative Authoritarians. They don't want anyone to have access. Because, women's access to contraception is a threat.

What would solve this is a Single-Payer Plan and Medicare for all, and President Obama is shrewd enough to be setting up the battle of his second term to implement them.

This is the right thing to do but, I always wish the White House would be ahead of the message instead of letting evil Republican scum and wacky religious weirdos control the message. But, if Liberals can not get behind the President on this issue, then I'm not sure why they call themselves Liberals? Because, why call yourself Liberal if you are siding with the Regressive, the Authoritarian, the Conservative, with those who have consistently sided with rolling back hard fought rights won over the last century.

The 1% Solution applied to OWS

Early in the morning, Mayor Bloomberg ordered the NYPD to conduct a sweep-and-clear paramilitary style raid on Zuccotti Park. The 1% have allowed this little rebellion to go on long enough. The Plutocracy would prefer if you just sat back and accepted your enslavement and Classacre (Class Massacre) and stayed silent.

As with all Iron Fisted Tyrants, Bloomberg, the handmadien of the 1%, cited the health and well-being of the protesters for the necessity of the violent crackdown. And the removal was conducted in the early am, after the Brooklyn Bridge has been shut down till 0600 hours, and with media persons being specifically moved to an area away from were the beatings, pepper-spray, tear gas, mass arrests, destruction of private property and use of bulldozers to roust OWS occurred.This isn't the first #Occupy to be removed with in the early morning with the use of heavy machinery and paramilitary action.

The first one was a restraining order allowing the Protesters to return and stopping Bloomberg and the NYPD from interfering at all with OWS.

However, the second one was not so beneficial to #Occupy. tT also shows the level of duplicitious chicanery the 1% are always willing to stoop too, to stop the 99%. It stops all "Camping" in the Park. OWS is not Camping. It is Protest. It is a Righteous Shout against the Economic Inequality and Legalized Theivery the 1% have set up in this Nation. But, it's the 1% legalese solution to stifling dissent and outlawing Democracy. By labeling it "camping" the 1% empower their political, media, and law enforcement dogs to disrupt, detain and beat those who attempt to return.

OWS and the #OccupyMovement are the most clear example of Democracy in the US. That the Rightwingers hate it because their Plutocratic Lords and Masters hate it. Listening to McCain/Obama on the radio I thought McCain won the debate. He sounded confident in his positions. But the unrepentant Warmonger was on full display for all Americans to see. Unfortunately, rabid Nationalism and the War/Fear dichtomony means the somber advice form yesteryear is ignored if not outright scorned. The Debate should have been War Today, War Tomorrow, War Forever!

Compare McCains statements in the Debate:

We've got to show moral support for Georgia. We've got to show moral support for Ukraine. We've got to advocate for their membership in NATO.

We have to make the Russians understand that there are penalties for these this kind of behavior, this kind of naked aggression into Georgia, a tiny country and a tiny democracy.

And so, of course we want to bring international pressures to bear on Russia in hopes that that will modify and eventually change their behavior. Now, the G-8 is one of those, but there are many others.

But the Russians must understand that these kinds of actions and activities are not acceptable and hopefully we will use the leverage, economic, diplomatic and others united with our allies, with our allies and friends in Europe who are equally disturbed as we are about their recent behaviors.

And when asked about if he "would you be willing to commit U.S. troops in support and defense of Israel? Or would you wait on approval from the U.N. Security Council?"

And lest you think McCain was speaking directly about the specific nations/regions around Russia and Israel. McCain is a champion of involving the US in every corner(?) of the earth. So Compare McCain's following statement:

The problem is the members of the Federal Government have become enamored with the Wilsonian Doctrine of Interventionist Coercive "Democracy". And unfortunately, now with the abolishment of the draft and the rapidly expanding division between Our Federal Lordships and the rest of the hoi-polloi, we have a class emerging which rarely will have a family member who will be sent into harm's way Spreading Peace and Freedom.

If Sarah Palin has Nothing to Hide Why the Furor over her hacked Emails?

I have reasonable suspicion there is something criminal or at least untoward in Sarah Palin's emails. If Sarah has nothing to hide why not make your emails public? Huh? Prove you aren't a criminal. And if Sarah proves she's not a criminal by showing all her emails, letters, bank statements, then I'll apologize for my reasonable suspicions.

The entire apparatus of government is a Rube Goldberg machine. It's huge, complex, cumbersome, slow, and designed for the simple task of controlling you. Of course perhaps that's an insult to Rube Goldberg. The goal is not just control but domination which you willingly accept or are not even conscious of... It's hard to cut the strings if you don't realize you're a marionette.

Now, it may be man requires a form of government for arbitration, defense and peace keeping but a there is no way a monstrosity 1000 miles away (from the Chicagoland area that is) can respond quickly or effectively to your needs or problems, just ask the residents of New Orleans, the aftermath of which showed the limitations and downright incompetence of even State Government.

But, even after spectacular failures such as Katrina and the Imperial decrees of little more the 500 Masters of DC to invade and overthrow foreign rulers (whom they no longer like) Americans still acquiesce and defend the Apparatus.

Even when the rulers, such as Phil Graham, safely ensconced in their insular world of Government=Lobbyist, tell the plebeians to Just rub some dirt on it and quit whining about gas or home foreclosures and the recession in your little minds, Americans acquiesce to their Masters.

And why? Because we the people are taught that to be against the Apparatus is evil and wrong in and of itself. We are taught to revere the Apparatus itself. We the People are taught throughout life to place ourselves in the box and ignore or destroy anyone who tries to get out of the box.

This begins early in life with an education system imported during the Golden Era of Prussian Militantism.

It continues when the Apparatus creates an unending string of little bans upon your life designed to turn everyone in the State into a criminal and to captialize upon the natural instincts possessed by every human other than sociopaths or psychopaths.

The State then ensures resistance to the enforcement bears a double edge. The Apparatus of Government outlaws resistance to force and when it chooses to exercise it's power it sends not the masters but pawns. Any rational human bears in mind if he resists he is not striking out against the Machine in some Matrix inspired fight for freedom, but fighting with an agent of the State who is most likely caught up in the same net and held under the sway of the Machine as well.

And the Apparatus continues by encouraging people to believe they can work within the system for slow and systematic change. Society can't handle rapid changes is usually the bromide dispensed to those working for change. By the time any real change has been adopted those who worked for it are long dead and buried. Working gradually within the system is, as Tolstoy reasoned, a self-delusion which benefits the Apparatus.

It is ineffectual and irrational because Government... knows very well what is really dangerous to it. and will never let people who submit to it and act under its guidance do anything that will undermine its authority. And therefore, as both reason and experience clearly show, such an illusory, gradual conquest of rights is a self-deception which suits the government admirably, and which it, therefore, is even ready to encourage.

To be clear on my perspective. I agree with Professor Duane that if you are under investigation by the Police EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS.

But, let's not kid ourselves. The proponents of the Stop Snitchin' Movement are not Peaceful, Freedom Loving Anarcho-Libertarians seeking the end of the coercive abuse of power by Agents of the Nation-State. No they are criminals, (Thieves, Dug Dealers, Murderers) who manipulate their victims into believing both their interests are aligned or outright threaten people into silence.

Einstein's Letter

I had planned a post on the handwritten 1954 letter by Albert Einstein containing his views on religion which surfaced and was auctioned off two weeks ago but, because of the constraints of life and time I didn't get around to it. So here is what I can throw together now.

In the letter Einstein writes:

The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.

For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions.

It's not that Einstein's word on god carries more weight than most, it's that the religious blatherskites Dinesh Dsouza, Schmuley Boteach and Laura Ingraham always trot out the tired canard of: Great Scientist X (usually Galileo Galiei, Isaac Newton or Einstein) was religious who are you to think you know more than them.

Of course, ancient, medieval and enlightenment scientists who did not profess faith in god(s) are never mentioned nor is Aristotle. Aristotle's writings on science and philosophy dominated European thought (and islamic). Aristotle had the longest reign over mankind's thinking. Until the time of Nicholas Copernicus, Giordano Bruno and Galileo who questioned Aristotle's conclusions. Copernicus, of course hid his conclusions until after his death, Galileo was forced to recant his error by the Church and Bruno was burned at the stake.

Well, it's to be expected. The hundreds (or millions) of religions no longer hold the best explanation of the world from the movements of the stars to the twitches of the human nervous system. But, the religious zealots know they hold the truth (cause their imam, rabbi, preacher, sufi says so) and feel they must use every means available to them to convince the rest of us.

Arlington Heights Il (it's near Chicago)- Last week, 26 trees were removed from the public parkway along Gibbons. While the same number of smaller crab apple trees will be planted in their spots next week, neighbors are still mourning the loss of their older, much larger trees.

ComEd and the Village of Arlington Heights decided "most people want those bad-looking trees to come down."

Well, I'm glad the ComEd Corporate Hack and the Village Bureaucrat Owen Widmayer told the people who live on South Gibbons Ave how unattractive the trees truly are, because the trees can "become very unpleasing to the eye," so annually Widmayer and ComEd decide which groups of trees need to be replaced. Imagine the arrogance of the common man wanting to have the 50 year old 35-60 foot tall treees beautifying their neighborhood. How dare they question a government official.

"If they didn't want a tree to come down, they could have called us. I didn't hear from a single person," Widmayer said.

Where have I heard that argument before? I have a sneaking suspicion Owen Widmayer is a Vogon. His arguments are sneakingly similar to the Vogons chastising Mankind for not going to Alpha Centauri to view the order authorizing the destruction of Earth.

Well it's not Government's fault you stupid people couldn't get to the Arlington Heights Office and stop the cutting down of the large, beautiful maple, ash and elm trees to make way for scrubby 6 foot tall crab apple trees...

Censorship & Propaganda

The recent revelation in 2006 SOCCOM wanted to "clandestinely recruiting or hiring prominent bloggers" got me to thinking about Censorship, Propaganda and the military.

Control of the message coming out of theater has been a desire and goal of military and government higher ups for a long time.

The running line from my XO and CO when lecturing us about reporters on Blue Diamond, was "remember they don't care about you", "they're out for the story" and when speaking with them "stay in your lane". Every they was laced with an omnious boogey-man inflection. The meaning of course was don't talk bad about the war or the government or bother your pretty little jarhead with big world "strategery". Echoes of: Don't think you know better than Haig. Of course, I meet exactly ZERO journalists and didn't care to seek any out.

Anyway, prominently displayed on Uber-Patriot Melanie Morgan's website is a picture of a Marine with duck tape over his mouth. Melanie is doing this because of the sedition* by Berkeley in protesting the US Marines recruiting center.

This is doublespeak at it's worst. It's so obvious it doesn't even qualify as ironic.

Where was Melanie when the US government shut down blogs of individual soldiers? What Melanie wants to protect is the Government's free speech. You know the free speech to say "Mission Accomplished", "Last Throes", "Major Strategic Victory" and so forth, because Melanie supports the mission and hates the individual soldiers.

Melanie especially hates service members when they speak out against the war she loves and protects. No freedom of speech for the Winter Soldiers, eh Melanie? They must be lying! After all according to you we are winning the war, just like we have been doing for the last 5 years...

Well, it doesn't matter, I've decided to be like Melanie and champion the War. After all what's a few service members lives (only 108 dead in 2008!) compared to the Right's of the Government?!?! It's not like I know them or they would be able to mill about in her social circle, so what loss are they...

*-I think the Berkeley protest is stupid because it focuses on the cogs and not those directing the machines of war. It also serves the purpose of the MIC by driving a wedge between US citizens. The same thing happened during Vietnam when anti-war protesters and veterans (two groups who should be welded together) were forced apart.

Fitna and Death Threats

Apparently some ideas are above critique.
The top U.N. rights body on Thursday passed a resolution proposed by Islamic countries saying it is deeply concerned about the defamation of religions and urging governments to prohibit it. "Islam is one of the most obvious victims of aggressions under the pretext of freedom of expression," the Saudi delegation told the council.

So, LiveLeak hosted Fitna the Anti-islam movie by Geert Wilders. I won't go over the ridiculous blasphemy arguments or the fundamental question of why an All Powerful god needs the pious to defend it from the sinful or even the freedom of speech arguments.

Although this comment caught my eye;
"I am well aware of people's constitutional right regarding freedom of speech, but Wilders's pronouncements about wanting the Koran forbidden and his likening of Mohammed to Hitler go too far," Hans van den Broek, a former Dutch minister for foreign affairs and a government adviser, insists.

This is political cowardice at it's worse. No matter how artisitically poor or factually incorrect a movie or book is the way to defeat a viewpoint is not through violence (note in my previous post I didn't recommend strangling Ben Stein for the ignorant Expelled movie) it is through debate, critique and rebuttal. So, anyone who really claims to support post-Enlightenment values should be defending Fitna and Wilders as Michael Moynihan does in this article for Reason.

I will say one bad thing about this is it allows the leaders of repressive islamic nations to get away with blaming all their countries problems on western "islamophobia" and not on their policies and the theft of billions from their own people.

Anyway, this is just another case were religious authorities can use their undeserved influence to incite their ignorant followers into a frenzy. No belief system is above ridicule or criticism.

The Expelled Rigamrole

Well, this post was supposed to be done a few days ago, I don't know what happened. So the news is old, in the modern understanding of old news.

As many people know, Mark Mathis, the producer of Expelled in a fit of hypocritical irony expelled Professor PZ Myers out of the waiting line to see the movie. But, apparently did not recognize Richard Dawkins, whom PZ Myers had listed as an invited attendee. Dawkins sums up the events in a post named Lying for Jesus?

First the basic premise of evolution, all life on earth (including mankind) have a common ancestry and we have inherited traits passed to us from previous generations is correct. Teach the controversy is a misnomer. Intelligent Design is better understood under the apt and accurate description, "Creationism in a Cheap Tuxedo".

The "controversy" is nothing less than the attempts by those with an agenda of pushing biblical account of the creation of the earth and man. It's been well documented under the "Wedge Strategy" and comments and columns by ardent ID supporters like Bill Dembski (If ID and creationism aren't the same why all the references to god and the bible?).

One of the funniest and disheartening things about the Evolution "controversy" is basic ignorance of reasoning and logic. Let us postulate Evolution is false, does that make Intelligent Design true? The answer is no, there could be a third or fourth or n number of other mechanisms currently unknown to the minds of mankind which account for the origin of life.

I always recommend reading all viewpoints and not prejudging things without watching them for yourself. But I'm reminded one should have an open mind but not so open as one's brains fall out. Rehashing the same tired attempts to link Darwin and Hitler is not a theory I need to rebut again. Having Ben Stein claim "god did it" is not science. Julia Sweeney has some comments on her view of the intellectual Ben Stein. And worst of all, invoking Galileo who was forced to recant his scientific views by Religious Authority is tawdry. I'm not going to watch the Expelled movie, but don't say I didn't warn you about your brain slurping out of your ear canal if you choose to...

Anyway the Expelled brouhaha continues to be laughable. Over at the Uncommodescent blog, the Intelligent Designers decided to add an new level of guesswork to their fantastical imaginations. DaveScot postulated why PZ Myers was expelled: An RSVP system was in work and "I’d guess it’s because Myers was vigorously exercising his anti-religious potty mouth loud enough to offend other guests and someone complained while the other members in Myers’ anti-Christ crusader party were exercising a modicum of discretion."

And there it is. I guess. Awesome. DaveScot doesn't have any evidence to support his slander about PZ Myers behavior he just guesses. It works perfectly to describe intelligent design as well. Slander, lie and guesses.

Those who use the "Oh well they volunteered for the duty" have to be the some of the most callous people living. It's usually used by chickenhawk cowards when those actually in the service bring up legitimate gripes or concerns. Because an American signs up for service in the military he does not abrogate his rights as a US citizen. He is not an indentured servant. He can not be ordered to commit an illegal act. He can not be used as a human test subject for experimental procedures. He can be not be treated as a piece of equipment to be ridden as hard as possible until he breaks.

But, that is exactly what is happening. The Bush Regime and it's enablers treat soldiers as disposable cogs in the Machinery of War.

For example: Can anyone in America really be proud Master Chicken Hawk Cheney is the Vice President? Even those who whole-heartily support the Iraq Occupation? I mean really.

When asked about the burden that's been placed only on the shoulders of the soldiers and the fact more than two-thirds of Americans want us out of Iraq, he's flippant, smug and arrogant.

"For example, 9/11 stimulated a lot of folks to volunteer for the military because they wanted to be involved in defending the country." Cheney stated to Martha Raddatz, and he added apparently without irony, "The president carries the biggest burden, obviously."

First off Susan Jacoby does an excellent job of dissecting the use of the word "folks", The specific political use of folks as an exclusionary and inclusionary signal, designed to make the speaker sound like one of the boys or girls, is symptomatic of a debasement of public speech inseparable from a more general erosion of American cultural standards.(pg. 4, Jacoby, Susan The Age of American Unreason., New York. Pantheon Books, 2008.)

But, moving on Hey, Dick, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot does 9/11 have to do with Iraq? What "burden" does the Commander Guy carry? Unless Cheney is going to start referencing blogs like Hot Air, with the post Saddam supported at least two Al-Qaeda groups, no matter what comes to light about the false reasons Bush led the US into the Iraq war, there will be those who will fight to claim the reasons were true.

Eventually, we as a society are going to have to move to a position where the people are not allowed to sign away their freedoms because no matter the safeguards, constitutional guarantees, those in authority are going to either modify them or ignore them completely and use the military to fulfill their nefarious purposes.

Why Iraq?

To gain strategic control of the Middle East, due to it's central location.

Afghanistan is too far away from the region. By being centrally located The US military in Iraq threatens Iran to the East and Syria to the West. Additionally, the US position provides protection for Israel and Saudi Arabia.

The other strategic concern of the Middle East is simple: Oil. Stopping the post-Shah Iran from dominating the Oil reserves of the region has been the goal of the US since 1979. Unfortunately, the Bumbler in Bush only strengthens the repressive Iranian Governments position when he ineloquently slurs his Axis-of-Evil speeches and threatens an attack of Iran.

So, let's dispose of the those romantic notions of Bringing the Light of Democracy to the region or the fearmonging of Terror and Weapons of Mass Destruction.

The plight of the Kurdish people clearly illustrates our commitment to stop the spread of Democracy and self-determination. The Kurdish people will never be allowed to form a Nation-State for themselves. The government of Turkey is conducting a war on the Kurds (ostensibly their own people) in Eastern Turkey and will engage in full blown war (using F-16s sold to them by War profiters from the US) if the Kurds attempt to create the nation of Kurdistan.

And this is where the truth of the UN comes into play. The UN only cares for it's members who are (and this may surprise some) not human individuals but Nation-States. And it is in the interests of Nations to stop new members from being created. The grossness of the UN is for another day.
