The members of Rush through their attorney at The Anthem Entertainment Group have issued a cease and desist order to Racist Limpballs so that he never taints their music by having it associated with his misogynistic shit show ever again.

According to media reports, Rush Limbaugh, Premiere Radio Networks and The Rush Limbaugh Show have been using Rush's recorded music as part of what is essentially a political broadcast.

The use of Rush's music in this way is an infringement of Rush's copyrights and trademarks. The public performance of Rush's music is not licensed for political purposes and any such use is in breach of public performance licenses and constitutes copyright infringement. There are civil and criminal remedies for copyright infringement, including statutory damages and fines.

In addition, the use of Rush's music in this manner implies an endorsement of the views expressed and products advertised on the show, and is in breach of not only copyright and trademark rights, but also, of section 51 of the New York Civil Rights Law (excerpt attached).

Accordingly, we hereby demand that you immediately stop all use of Rush's music and confirm that you will do so.

This follows a well worn path trod by Right-Wingers.

Conservatives are mental midgets and constantly resort to thievery of intellectual property to cover their deficiencies. It happens over and over and over. A Conservative ass-clown appropriates the intellectual property of an artist without permission and then ignores the just demands of that artist to stop stealing. It just goes to show how the conservative claims to staunchly support property rights is a bunch of right-wing bullshit.

Michele Bachmann continually swiped Tom Petty's American Girl apparently just by the title not actually from listening to the content of the song.

Just this week, Newtradamus Gingrich demanded a Federal Judge toss out a lawsuit against him from Frank Sullivan the writer of Eye of the Tiger. If the Judge refuses to make the decision Gingrich wants, he has vowed to send the U.S. Capital Police to arrest him.

But, King Thief Ronnie Raygun famously stole from both John Cougar Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen.

I can understand why conservatives consistently steal the music of Liberal musicians for their theme songs. When was the last time Ted Nugent produced anything musically significant? Republicans are petty thieves and Vultures, creatures unable to craft anything of value on their own and existing only by stealing.

Rush' s Triumph*

I loved the Rush song Magic Power for years. It doesn't get much airplay anymore in the post-grunge, indie rock dominated music scene even on Chicago-land Classic Rock Stations like The Drive.

I figured the song came from the late 70's since musically it shared much in common with the Boston, Kansas and (as my friend Ran pointed out Styx) sound of that era. But, oddly, when I remembered to look for them at a Sam Goody's or Tower Records I could never find it on any Rush "albums".

Enter the Age of Information Access. I looked them up on iTunes and discovered these hard to find Rush songs were written by some band called Triumph. Triumph? Who the hell are those guys? Reading the biography it turns out my confusion was caused by the fact Triumph emerged as a power trio from Canada the same as Rush and possessed a similar sound. Triumph are responsible for a few great songs (Fight the Good Fight and Lay it on the Line) I recall from the early 80's. And ta boot Triumph became recent additions to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

*- I bet you thought this was a post about the Distended Flabby Sack of Crap, but I'm banning myself from writing about that thrice divorced, drug addicted, sex tourist who mocks and insults the disabled ever again. Arlington Heights Il (it's near Chicago)- Last week, 26 trees were removed from the public parkway along Gibbons. While the same number of smaller crab apple trees will be planted in their spots next week, neighbors are still mourning the loss of their older, much larger trees.

ComEd and the Village of Arlington Heights decided "most people want those bad-looking trees to come down."

Well, I'm glad the ComEd Corporate Hack and the Village Bureaucrat Owen Widmayer told the people who live on South Gibbons Ave how unattractive the trees truly are, because the trees can "become very unpleasing to the eye," so annually Widmayer and ComEd decide which groups of trees need to be replaced. Imagine the arrogance of the common man wanting to have the 50 year old 35-60 foot tall treees beautifying their neighborhood. How dare they question a government official.

"If they didn't want a tree to come down, they could have called us. I didn't hear from a single person," Widmayer said.

Where have I heard that argument before? I have a sneaking suspicion Owen Widmayer is a Vogon. His arguments are sneakingly similar to the Vogons chastising Mankind for not going to Alpha Centauri to view the order authorizing the destruction of Earth.

Well it's not Government's fault you stupid people couldn't get to the Arlington Heights Office and stop the cutting down of the large, beautiful maple, ash and elm trees to make way for scrubby 6 foot tall crab apple trees...
