Panty Sniffing Ron DeSantis is taking a break from fucking up Florida to invade Illinois

Ron DeSantis has been invited to Illinois by supreme scumbag John Catanzara.  Perhaps you'll recall Dirty John Catanzara has been forced to resign from the Police Force after years of being a criminal cop.  Or perhaps you will remember when Catanzara enthusiastically endorsed the Jan6th Insurrection.  Well, DeathSantis is planning on speaking on President's Day...

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is planning to come to Elmhurst on Monday, according to the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police.

On Thursday, the organization invited members to see the Republican governor at a yet-to-be-disclosed site in Elmhurst. Doors are set to open at 3:30 p.m.

According to the invitation, the location will be revealed 48 hours before the "Back the Blue" event. The invitation said DeSantis would speak about law enforcement.

DeSantis is just the type of vile vicious asshole who appeals to Catanzara.  But, even worse High School Girl humping Ron, as he gears up for his Presidential Run in 2024, is seeking to bolster his support amongst dirtbag Officers who adore his Quasi-Fascist policies.  I am aghast but unsurprised at the hold Ron DeSantis has over white suburbanites. They love him because he hurts the people they want hurt.

They love him because he provides them The Show they want, the results are irrelevant and incidental, but the pomp and circumstance, the tweets by Christina Pushaw, the made for TV arrests, and press conferences in which he #OwnstheLibs and announces another Anti-Woke program or Anti-LGBTQ pogrom fill the dark evil need wypipo have in the depths of their inhumane souls.

DeSantis' background details hardly matter. Because on the surface he's everything white people venerate. A Veteran!!! Do white people care his Bronze Star is literally without the "V" for Valor? No. In fact it's important to them that DeSantis got his award for defending and implmenting torture on "TERRORISTS".

Do rightwingers care about his creepy parties with high school girls as their cool teacher plying them with booze?  Fake News!!!

Do conservatives care about Ron's DeathSentence for over a 100,000 residents in Florida by his Covid denialism and lies?  No, that was Ron being strong and not bowing down to Fauci and the Killer Jab!

Do they care about the legality of those 20 "voter fraud" arrests?  Doubtful, since Racist Ron targeted the Blacks with his task force.  Do Floridians care about panty sniffing Ron wanting to track and maintain a database of their little girls menstrual cycles?  Well... I guess they care a little bit since they pushed back but, High School Stalker DeSantis is no doubt looking at Governor Glenn Youngkin in Virginia as the way to ensure Florida has a giant database on every teenage girl and their periods by claiming Law Enforcement needs to track every little girls menstruation for criminal reasons.

DeSantis has an intoxicating allure for a certain segment of America.  That allure is the promise to unleash America's white power on those who deserve to be put back in their place or eliminated.  Conservatives see in DeSantis the unfulfilled promise of Trump.  Cops especially...

The Revenge of the Thin Blue Line 17: Orange you glad Dirty John Catanzara is the FOP President?

One of the absolutely, mind-boggling, infuriating things about Corporate Media is their seeming inability to google someone before they invite them on air to spout rightwing propaganda and lies.  Enter Dirty John Catanzara, President of the Chicago FOP Lodge 7.  After the shooting of Adam Toledo last year, Catanzara was contacted by numerous media outlets for his view of the shooting.  At the time Catanzara hadn't been a cop for over a year.  Because Dirty John Catanzara was relieved of Police powers and duties in May 2020.  Then facing termination last year, Dirty John was allowed to officially retire.  Sadly, the shitbag refused to step down as President of his Lodge, intending to stay on until his term expires in 2023.

So, yesterday at the Northwest Irish Parade John Catanzara wore an orange shirt.  (Note the Northside not the Southside).  This is a deliberate provocation and unlike when Catanzara posted "Let's Go Brandon!!!" or expressed his admiration and support for the January 6th terrorists, this insulting action isn't going to gain him many fans amongst the old school Chicago Police community and the historical Irish community in Chicago.

In case anyone doesn't know, wearing Orange on or about Saint Patrick's Day isn't an accidental move but, an insulting declaration and incitement to most people of Irish ancestry.  But, this is America!  And the joy of being a right-winger in America is having No Memory.

Then you can claim there's no systemic racism.  You can deny societal impacts of Republican policies.  You can ignore the history of the American Petroleum Institute and blame President Biden for gas prices.  Because everything just happens Ex Nihilo.

Catanzara got away with a career of misconduct because people forget or don't care to know.  Of course, Catanzara could be claiming to be a Loyalist to the British Crown... as Dirty John is definitely a traitor.

Incidentally, the candidate's shirt Dirty John is wearing is Chicago Police Detective Erin Jones who's challenging incumbent Robert Martwick for Illinois 10th district State Senate as a Democrat.  Detective Erin Jones doesn't have any sustained police misconduct allegations.  But, Jones was involved in some racially charged kerfuffle with former Chicago Alderman Arena over Jones' alleged racist social media comments in 2018. 

Of course, Erin Jones is one of those bad faith Chicago conservative who, despite being a 2018 Republican precinct captain and posting in 2020 the Democratic Party is a worse enemy than China, North Korea, or Russia pretends to be a Democrat to try and win an election.

They're... very... slowly... getting... away!

So, a Tucson Police Officer posted on an off-duty assignment at a Walmart is going to be terminated for shooting a 61-year old wheel-chair bound shoplifter. 

But, but, but! The dastardly shoplifter was committing a crime (he had reportedly stolen a toolbox) and allegedly brandished a knife at the Officer when asked to provide proof of payment.  Clearly, this was a "criminal" with a dangerous weapon, issuing threats, and entering another store with innocent people around.  So why is the Officer not being lauded for stopping a person who refused to follow lawful orders?

First, understand the "just comply" responders are talking about those people complying with Police, conservatives are special snowflakes who can flout law enforcement at will, up to and including, beating Officers who are trying to stop Insurrectionists storming the U.S. Capitol.

Second, this is a Police Department policy failure.  Off-duty Officers shouldn't be working as mall cops.  Carrying his duty weapon?  Call for an officer to respond and identify the man.  Take pictures of the man.  Follow him from more than 5 feet away.  Or... pump 9 rounds into a guy in a wheel-chair.

Third, this is nothing more than a misdemeanor retail theft.  Who the fuck fucking cares?  A fucking toolbox.  But, this is America... and the Gun is the Final Arbiter of the Law.

It's also part of the Dave Grossman Police Officer Training mantra;  Use more Violence. Murder! Kill! Kill!  Kill!  If you think I'm being hyperbolic, I'm not;  Grossman self-titled his training method as KilLOLogy

Grossman, of course, is highly deceitful about his training claiming his Warrior Training (Grossman changed it to "Sheepdogs" in the last few years) is about saving lives.  The inversion of reality through language is a classic Police technique.  Like when an Officer writes in his report 'he assisted a person to the ground' instead of writing he threw the guy down. 

What Grossman's grotesque training actually does is create fear-driven murder drones over-eager to drop the hammer and kill "civilians" because of their subjective fear which has been trained into them.  The damage the despicable Grossman has done to Law Enforcement is going to take a generation to repair. 

Of course, here in Illinois we have a spate of mob grab mass thefts of high end merchandise.  Now, the thefts themselves are being conducted by black people but, the question is who is funding this and who is the end buyer?  Clearly, the thieves are not selling the Louis Vuitton bags in the alleyways of the Mag Mile.  So where are they ending up?

In the meantime, continue to expect Police Officers to gun down Americans.

The video from the UPS Robbery chase and highway shoot-out was appalling. Engaging the suspects on the busy highway, shooting into the truck, shooting while hiding behind vehicles full of innocent bystanders.

"If you shoot at us, we are going to engage. We are going to stop the threat," Steadman Stahl, president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, said Friday. "When bad guys are shooting at you, how do you negotiate?"

"If you're shooting into a truck and you don't have a clear vision of who you're shooting at, you don't just shoot at the truck," Manny Orosa, Miami-Dade Police Chief from 2011-2015 said.  

Two "civilians" were killed; Richard Cutshaw a 70 year old driver in another vehicle and the hostage UPS driver Frank Ordonez. But, hey whatcha gonna do?

The trite saying I oft heard uttered in Iraq was 'Better judged by 12 than carried by 6'. Nowadays a third line can be added, 'Pardoned by the 1' as the Traitor in the White House loves to pardon war criminals to #OwntheLibs. That was language used in an actual Warzone but, with the proliferation of easily obtainable guns, the wreckage of the social safety net and economy from the ravages of Trickle-Down Neoliberalism, and the militarization of Police Forces the United States is sliding rapidly into a Failed Nation State.

The recent incidents of Police Abuse, criminal acts, and murder have taken those last bits of luster of the badge. But, the odious AG Bill Barr recently said Americans, "have to start showing, more than they do, the respect and support that law enforcement deserves. And if communities don't give that support and respect, they might find themselves without the police protection they need."

Respect is earned, not given away. Recall the 2nd of Robert Peel's 9 Principals of Policing;

To recognize always that the power of the police to fulfill their functions and duties is dependent on public approval of their existence, actions and behavior, and on their ability to secure and maintain public respect.

This Miami Yikes incident is just the most explosive recent one involving Police Officers in Florida although an Officer in LA surpassed them in immorality. I'm getting sick and tired of these criminal cops making my job harder, acosting and sometimes murdering American Citizens for minor infractions, and treating the United States like Fallujah.

Police Officers are the Standing Army the Founding Fathers warned Us about

Attorney General Bill Barr spoke to the Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. The FOP  scumbag organization which hand-in-hand with reactionary judges helps shield criminal cops, through such techniques as "Qualified Immunity"... Now I'm not talking about your local Union rep who is a still a lunch pail union organizer but, the Elite Board who enjoy $1000-a-plate dinners and soirées amongst the 1%.

The 1% believe there are only two valid roles for government; the opening up of foreign markets for exploitation and control, and the quelling of domestic dissent. The creation of municipal Policing in America is born of the massive structural changes to society wrought by the Industrial Revolution; in response to three main stimuli; the end of chattel slavery, the influx of large numbers of working class poor from various Slavic and Eastern European Nations, and the rise of densely populated cities of working poor.

For years conservatives used division and had the power of the Government; Federal, State, Local, to keep the minority segments of society down whilst protecting and providing for White America. And then...

Conservatives loathing of the Federal Government began when the government began to protect and aid minorities in the 1960's. Once the US Government began to fulfill the mission of ensuring life and liberty for all Americans, ever so tepidly and ever so intermittently, conservatives became champions of small government. Bill Barr echoes this in his speech,

We live in an age now when the institutions we have relied on to inculcate values and self-restraint have been under constant assault for over 50 years.  As a result, we see about us increased social pathology.

50 years is the tell. Ending segregation. Ending Redlining. Civil Rights, Social Security, and federal protections for blacks and women? Conservatives became enraged. And later...

Starting in the 1960’s, we had gone through three decades of “reform” that turned our criminal justice system into a laughable revolving door.  Incarceration rates dropped precipitously.

Again when did it start? The 1960's. Miranda rights, protections from unlawful search and seizure, weak safeguards against police brutality? That's when

One reason for this is that law enforcement is fighting a different type of war.  We are fighting an unrelenting, never-ending fight against criminal predators in our society.  While there are battles won and lost each day, there is never a final resolution – a final victory is never in sight.

'We are fighting a different type of war'... War... Never-Ending War... It's because conservatives see Police forces as the Standing Army loyal to White Supremacy and enforcing the Reactionary politics of the Republican Agenda of Intolerance and Adulation of the Rich.

Police Injustice, the Policing System is working as Designed

Lost amongst the Trump-led GOPdammerung, the Dept of Justice released a depressing report on the state of policing in Baltimore. That report has been coupled with two more Police Shootings of young black males, one in Chicago and one in Milwaukee.

Now, the Milwaukee shooting appears to have been lawful, a "good shoot", but, criminals took advantage of the tensions and engaged in assaults and vandalism using the shooting as a pretext. The Chicago shooting is more complex and does not appear to be a "good shot" at this time.

It appears that young black men need to re-learn the lesson their fathers, uncles, and grandfathers learned;

"You need to understand that there are two gangs in the projects. The police are also a gang but they really have the power. I mean, these n* run around with money and cars, but at any moment the cops can get them off the street. Never, never, never piss off the police." -Sudhir Venkatesh recounts a discussion with "Autry" in Gang Leader for a Day (pg. 239)

The system of Policing in America is working as intended. Modern Police Departments were created during the 19th century to deal with 3 changing factors in America; 1) the growth of cities due to Industrialization, 2) the influx of immigrants from new nations, 3) the end of slavery and the Black exodus. Thus, a system needed to be created to deal with problems that original Sheriff's were not designed to handle; to control, disenfranchise, and ghettoize undesireables. To accomplish this it is not necessary that every Police Officer be racist. It is, in fact, desireable for the majority to be color-blind.

Every shooting is not done by a Bocephus white slave master racist cop but, that's what makes the rigged system work. The system by being generally good and staffed by lawful, honorable people creates a space for a bad element to exist and operate. Humans have a difficult time processing issues related to large, anonymous systems. It's too much. An individual bad actor or department can be identified and dealt with but, the system of control which has been created, and feed for centuries works in the background grinding out victims without being addressed.

Overall, the quality of modern police officers is very high but, that's a lie of statistics. In a Nation of 320 Million any one death is a insignificant blip, but such a calculus is used by those who do not suffer from the system.

Ferguson, Missouri two years ago became a microcosm of the harshness of the system. Michael Brown, got into an altercation at a gas station over a pack of swisher sweets, of which, Darren Wilson was unaware.

The altercation between Wilson and Brown at the door of the squad SUV and into the street without video evidence can never be properly reconstructed and one eye witness account will nver be heard but, right-wingers didn't feel comfortable with the known facts and had to start adding elements that were untrue. Conservatives sites claimed Wilson suffered a broken orbital bone from the "beating" he took and Faux News and the right-wing internet ran with the wholly untrue "diary" of Witness 40 to describe the final interaction and last shots fired at Brown.

But, when the Dept of Justice released the report which showed the Ferguson PD had been transformed from Officers into revenue generators to fill budget gaps that received little fanfare. Police Departments have been monitized over the last few decades as villages and cities have had to deal with declining budgets.

On top of turning Police Officers into tax collectors "Broken Windows" Theory has been in place for years. Broken Windows hypothesized that by cracking down on every minor infraction major crime would be detered. Additionally, "Stop & Frisk" and the War on Drugs turned policing from protect and serve into halt and harass.

Taken together, these had the effect of turning LEOs into occupying force, while other factors, the availability of high-powered firearms and long guns have led to a Paramilitary police look and mentality.

The recent Chicago Police shooting of an escaping car thief, and the mentality that led to the long altercation and not split-second decision was neatly avoided, while Chicago police bloggers who blamed both Mayor Rahm and Daley for cutting the training budget. Other anonymous LEOs joined in by saying lack of training was the problem.

This is part and parcel of the system. Bad shoots can be blamed on a lack of training or stress from working conditions and not from the violence/control/dehumanization inherent in the system. But, if these aren't enough to cover the bad shoot, then the character/criminal history of the suspect becomes pertinent and subtle lies can be added to the narrative.

Conservatives have been conditioned by right-wing toxic talk radio, Faux News, and the incestuous right-wing internet sites to reflexively blame all members of the maligned group. After every incident if the perpetrator is black, all members of the black community or #blacklivesmatter are guilty, if the offender is a muslim, all of islam is responsible, if the immigrant is hispanic, he's illegal.

Also, as conservatives have been trained to focus all their ire onto President Obama, every shooting in Chicago, every riot in Milwaukee becomes his fault. Additionally, since they ascribe to President Obama tyrannical powers they demand he turn those powers onto #blm and uniltaerally declare the organization a "terrorist group".

The arguments around #blm today are eeriely similar to those made about the Civil Rights Era; act responsibiliy, don't be so militant, don't do things which cause people to be annoyed or inconvenienced by you and eventually we'll get around to your concerns.

It wasn't until blacks began causing damage to property, in response to police shootings of black men that the media and conservatives began to pay attention. Of course, conservatives immediately called for violence against any and all black people and began demanding shoot-on-sight orders for looters.

Of course, it's hard to take conservatives seriously when they cry and moan about private property damage seeing as they venerate the Boston Tea Party as a near-Holy Event.

But, during the Civil Rights Era, black leaders knew they needed an unassailable champions to be the vanguard of the movement, that even the whiff of impropreity would be the wedge conservatives needed to discredit them and get sentiment against them.

While, the young black men killed in recent years have not be paragons of justice and untainted by criminal backgrounds, society in general and the black community have witnessed numerous incidents of #crimingwhilewhite, in which a white suspect has not been killed by Police and the treatment of President Obama, have created the perception that it doesn't matter what blacks do, because conservatives consider them criminal a priori and right-wing media will spare no effort slandering and smearing the dead black person.

To conservatives no police shooting of a black person is ever bad. No black person has ever been denied his constitutional rights, his right to due process, his right to be free of unlawful search and sezuire. Conservatives believe every black person is a criminal who just hasn't been caught yet.

A Conservative Domestic Terrorist Attack on Planned Parenthood but, remember this Fundamental Truth; Blacks are Criminals, Muslims are Terrorists, Whites are Neither. (Updated)

Note: I began this post before the white male Terrorist Attack on Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs. As I type this, the right-wing christian white male domestic terrorist armed with an AK-47, is holed up in the lobby of the Planned Parenthood apparently having been confronted by Police Officers, whom he attempted to murder after they disrupted his plan to commit another conservative domestic terrorist attack.

Chicago releases video footage of the murder of Laquan McDonald by Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke in 2014, a totally unjustified shooting and the right-wing reaction is to deflect and justify the shooting. There is literally no killing of a black person that Faux News and conservative will not defend and support.

A foundational building block of Conservatism is white people are Real America, and every advance by minorities is taken from the American Zero-Sum Pie, reducing the power/influence/undeserved status of white people. It's why conservatives don't push back when Donald Trump tweets out Neo-Nazi Propaganda claiming blacks kill 85% of Americans.

When "whites" commit crimes it's because of some demonic outside force, e.g. Video Games and Violent Movies (which is code for Hollywood and Jews), naughty lyrics in rap music (dastardly black culture influence), mental illness, liberal schooling, and so forth. Thus, we can conclude the virtuous white person was corrupted. Whereas, Muslims are Terrorists because of their religion and Blacks are criminals because of their culture and upbringing. That they are impure due to their inherent nature.

That Muslims are Terrorists/Blacks are Criminals is a fundamental core belief of conservatives. It's why conservatives are so ready to accept every manufactured Faux News "criminal" scandal of the Obama Presidency. Barack Obama is ipso facto a criminal based on his blood, skin color, and upbringing.

Many right-wing institutions, books, toxic radio, and conservative news sites exist to defend and advance this narrative. Conservative react to every shooting by referencing Chicago, as though that is the only place in the United States affected by gun violence. Faux News and conservatives justify every shooting of a black person by Police, and every incident of right-wing rage (i.e. Cliven Bundy Insurrection, The Dylann Roof Terrorist Attack in South Carolina) is in reality the fault of President Obama.

Conservatives don't call the criminal incidents of white male rage "terrorism" because they fundamentally agree with the actions. Now, right-wingers may denounce the attacks but more often than not they obliquely justify the action by denouncing a tangential or unrelated issue, such as blaming government regulations for the murder of Eric Garner in Long Island instead of blaming the white police officer applying a choke hold for a business offense.

Domestic Terrorism by conservatives has been on the rise since President Obama's inauguration and will continue until he's out of office. At that time either the conservative domestic terror sleeper cells will go dormant or they will pivot towards misogyny and continue their campaign of violence against America.

Update 1:
The right-wing domestic terrorist surrendered to Law Enforcement. One Police Officer and One citizen have died from his attack. Hopefully, none of the others wounded by this conservative criminal will succumb to their wounds. Now, all that remains is for Faux News and Republicans to minimize this incident and deflect as much blame onto President Obama and Planned Parenthood as possible.

Seriously, Congressman Adam Kinzinger was brought onto CNN to demand the Director of Planned Parenthood apologize, justify the shooters actions because of the "barbaric videos" conservatives have allegedly seen and then proclaim if the shooting was at Planned Parenthood it's because of mental illness.

Update 2:
Colorado Springs is a hotbed of conservative insanity with the Air Force Academy and Focus on the Family being located there. But, no doubt the recent lie-a-thon by Congress, especially Congressman Jason Chaffetz and all the other bloated fat ass white Republican men attacking Planned Parenthood with outright false manufactured information convinced this right-wing domestic terrorist he had to do something.

Update 3:
This is the second mass shooting by a crazed white male gunman in Colorado Springs inside a month. Just 4 weeks earlier Noah Harpham, paraded around with his M-16 brandishing the weapon, his neighbor called 911 only to be informed snidely that Colorado has Open-Carry Laws before Harpham murdered 3 people and was gunned down himself.

The Suicide of GI Joe Gliniewicz

I was very nearly ordered months back to be part of the "Honor" Guard, which drew Police Officers from across the country, for fallen Fox Lake Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz. Due to my misgivings about Gliniewicz, I did not want to attend or be associated in anyway with the detail and fortunately two more senior Officers took the detail.

At the time of the incident, I had my suspicions about the "homicide" of Lt Gliniewicz. But, many Police Officers, including some I work with, took this as more evidence in the War on Cops aided by the villianous President Barack Obama and the thuggish #BlackLivesMatter movement. Thus, everyone rushed to quickly deify Gliniewicz and he was showered with honors and his family with monies.

Sadly today, Lake County Authorities announced Gliniewicz took his own life and staged a false crime scene, to cover his suicide.

While Gliniewicz created a crime scene designed to appear as though three suspects had attacked him and shot him with his own weapon there were holes and inconsistencies which became apparent and undercut the belief it was a homicide.

Why had his squad car sat for nearly 20 minutes at the location prior to him calling off he was investigating 3 suspicious persons (2 white males and 1 black male) in the area.

If there was a fight why were there no key-ups? I've been in my share of on duty fights with suspects (and others) and once you hear the intermittent key-ups you know a 10-10 is in progress.

I know two fellow Officers, NIPAS team members, who were on scene that day and the fatal wound on Gliniewicz was difficult to explain. The working theory was that after having fought with and taken Gliniewicz's gun from him, they shot him once in the chest (causing him to double over) before luckily placing the final shot downwards behind his outer vest carrier at the neck.

Officers conducting a search of the nearby marsh-lands reportedly began to "fall-out" and tear up their uniforms within 10 minutes of searching in the swampy area. 3 perps running from the scene would have shredded themselves or been so bogged down as to quit running outright.

Tracking K-9's had no hits and developed no leads from the scene of the incident.

But, nonetheless the FBI and Major Crimes Task Force investigated the incident as a homicide. Until Lake County Coroner Thomas Rudd spoke at a news conference a few days later that he was not going to rule the death a homicide.

And that's when all the rumors began to circulate. One of the worst was Gliniewicz had engaged in indecent illegal behavior with children in his Fox Lake Young Police Explorers club.

Another 3 a.m. theory was Gliniewicz was involved in theft and fraud with the former Fox Lake Police Chief Mike Behan, who had hastily retired amidst allegations of official misconduct along with another Fox Lake Officer, and the three had met out there to discuss options when Gliniewicz was ambushed and killed in order to keep him quiet.

While a Hollywood Style Dirty Cop scenario didn't happen, it appears Gliniewicz took his own his life because he was stealing. Thousands of pages of documents reveal GI Joe was embezzling funds from his Police Explorer's group and was worried that Fox Lake Village Administrator Anne Marrin was about to be uncover his criminal activity.

Betrayal is the word used by many about this incident and the entirety of Charles Joseph Gliniewicz's life and death.

Update:
Besides his years long con and thievery, the worst aspect of Gliniewicz's "carefully staged suicide" is the danger he put fellow his officers in, he risked the lives of his so-called brothers-in-blue and even worse  he put the three innocent men he tried to frame for his "murder" in danger of being killed.

The "suspcious" two whites and a black men could very easily have been gunned down by a righteous Police Officer seeking "justice" and those individuals were idnetified and questioned.

But, now the focus has shifted to his complicit wife and eldest son and it seems highly probable that both knew about GI Joe's thefts and most likely were engaged in the scams as well.

This who debacle also reflects so badly on the Police and authorities. Some of this information revealed was known back then how could they in good conscience go forward with that sham of a Parade and Funeral Ceremony?

The Park District in my town serves a large and diverse group of people in Cook County and we have a fancy, very desirable pool complex. Therefore, every summer when kids leave their unlocked bikes outside the pool entrance, they find them stolen.

So, this weekend I have the misfortune to receive a few of these stolen bike reports, which stupidly, I decided to solve through basic investigation and some footwork, instead of merely writing up a report and moving on.

Now, I have to be purposefully vague here. After investigating, locating and returning several bikes, which had seemingly been stashed nearby, I also located a couple juvenile offenders.

And that's when things went haywire. I found myself being circled by women demanding my name and badge number. At least one had her cell phone camera out. Conversations about how This Isn't Right were spoken loudly nearby so that I might hear them. I think those mothers believed I was going to harm those juveniles...

A couple of pool lifeguards (envision privileged never been out of the suburbs white college kids), probably altered by the above mentioned mothers thought it was their duty to surreptitiously record the interaction with their cell phone cameras, eventhough I clearly positioned myself in front of the Pool's front entrance camera. Their feigned nonchalance was ludicrous.

I realized these people whom I never met were judging me by what I was wearing. That they had formed conclusions about me without any real knowledge of who I am. I was just another potentially out-of-control white cop who might snap at a moment's notice.

It would be the height of obtuse tone-deafness for me to say now I know what it feels like to be an African-American driving and be pulled over. Because, I can still easily badge my way out of any traffic stop and as a cop in a Cook County suburb I'm well off financially.

But, the take away from most police officers and the ones on my force whom I talked with about this incident, is far different than my own. The blame with the current environment between Law Enforcement and the American Public lies completely with the criminal cops who have no idea how to police. Who have been trained to be suspect all People of Color, subject their communities to the Broken Windows policy, hand out citations/tickets in order to plug budget gaps, see themselves wholly apart from the communities they've been ostensibly sworn to Protect & Serve, while they more and more see themselves as some sort of Paramilitary Occupying Power.

Sandra Bland died for the "crime" of being Uppity. A Police Officer's View.

First off, there is literally no death of any black person at the hands of the Police which Faux News and Conservatives will not justify and defend.

Nothing will make them deviate from their playbook of, minimizing the LEOs actions, demanding the black person prostrate themselves completely and then slandering the victim after their death.

An arrest is not a conviction. Of course, Conservatives believe every black person is a born criminal. Thus, begins to ex post facto justification for Bland's death via the murdering of her character. It's the right-wing way.

Bland's toxicology report showed cannabinoids in her blood. Weed Smoking is only acceptable if you're white. The same with gun ownership.

There's a massive amount of wrong with this whole escapade. Even the release of the dashcam video which Ava DuVernay, the director of Selma, legitimately called doctored, was so fraught with "glitches" the Texas Department of Public Safety is turned it over to the FBI for authentication that no editing has been done and any apparent errors are problems with uploading. Texas DPS has also released 3 hours (out of 72) of Bland's incarceration but, there is no camera inside the cell and big gaps in video coverage down the hallway to the cell. So, whatever happened inside Bland's cell is never going to be known.

Now, I know exactly what Deputy Brian Encinia was doing when he zoomed up on Bland's vehicle, i.e. checking her license plate status to see if the driver is Suspended or has a Warrant. Nothing showed up on his squad car computer screen but, when she makes a minor traffic violation, failure to signal lane change, he's got his Probable Cause, to pull her over and run a name check and also get a better look inside the interior of the vehicle.

Well, he's got nothing. So he writes the moving violation and returns to Bland's window. And that's when he sees his opening.

When an officer or deputy escalates aggression it's either because he's weak and unsure of himself or he's trying to torque the person up in order to get a reaction ," a" rise out if that person. Deputy Brian Encinia starts in on Bland, seemingly asking innocuous questions, Sandra Bland answers the questions in too flippant a tone for Deputy Encinia and he rapidly descends into Eric Cartman level 'Respect My Authoritah'.

Conservatives of course begin the character assassination of Bland at this point. Calling her arrogant, demanding she obey* the orders of the Deputy, and blaming his verbal aggression on her. With indefensible incidents such as this, Conservatives focus on one aspect, Encinia's right to order her out from the car, instead of the totality of the circumstances.

Now, while Encinia can legally her out of the vehicle, she's not under arrest at that point as the Deputy asserts, but is being temporarily lawfully detained. But, once this "arrogant" black woman talked back to him Encinia apparently lost his composure, threatened "I will light you up", called for backing units, and the situation was totally out of control. A good Police Officer must be able to ratchet down during encounters. Encinia was apparently too weak or too stupid to do this.

Because prior to getting her out of the vehicle, there's nothing there. No DUI, No warrants known to him at the time, no major moving violations, no contraband in the vehicle. Just a black woman who didn't know her place.

Resisting/Obstructing are the catch-alls Police Departments use to charge a person whom they most likely should not have arrested. Much of what's wrong here stems from the decision to put the Resisting/Battery to a Peace Officer charge on Bland to cover for Encinia's mistakes.

I don't know what Waller County Texas lockup procedures are but, Bland should have been released on an IBond after she couldn't come up with the money. They had her car. They had already positively identified her. No felony had been committed. So, why wasn't she bonded out? Because as a further demonstration to her that if you don't prostrate yourself before the law, you are going to spend a whole weekend in lockup, to teach that uppity n-slur some manners.

Usually temporary holding cells contain no items like plastic bags no trash can liners and her food** would not be delivered in one. I never let the arrestee have plastic dinnerware, a straw or even the plastic lid on the drink. Also it's Standard Operating Procedure that even arrestee without self-admitted suicidal thoughts are made to give up shoe laces, belts and even drawstrings on hoodies.

Additionally, during processing prior to being placed into a Holding Cell, it is SOP to ask if the arrestee if they have ever harmed them-self or attempted suicide. And if Deputies knew she had a history of suicidal thoughts, as the processing form shows, then they are obligated and responsible for her well-being. If that means taking her to the Hospital for close non-stop observation and an evaluation by a Doctor, too bad they made the arrest.

The Waller County Sheriff Department didn't do this, most likely, because the Deputies believed she was feigning Incarceratius, in order to get out of lockup.

So, Sandra Bland is dead. The Texas Authorities are in overdrive to prove she committed suicide, but even if she did (which sadly I'm not ready to concede) her death nonetheless is still on Waller County Sheriff because they decided to hold a potentially suicidal person for 3 days for the Unforgivable Crime of being Black in America.

* - Conservatives have for years gotten away with this hypocritical dichotomy of fear-monging about distrusting government so much so that they've purchased 100 million guns and deployed themselves to Counter Jade Helm yet they unequivocally accept every Government Official declaration concerning the suspicious deaths of black people by authorities. It could not be any clearer that Conservatives support and desire the murder of black people by Police.

** - much was made of Dylann Roof, the white conservative domestic terrorist getting fed Burger King after he was under arrest. This is non-controversial. My Department provides McDonald's for every meal for someone held in our temporary detention cells.

Republicans and the Rich are supporting Mayor 1%. You should support Chuy Garcia

Republican Mark Kirk, one of the 47 Senate Traitors, who recently compared Liberals to the Southern Racists of the 1850's, said,

"I would worry about the value of the Chicago debt if Rahm was not re-elected. It’s a concern if we have some of the less responsible people running against him."

'Awful nice City you have there... Be a shame if something was to happen to it,' Cheap Gangster rhetoric from Traitor Mark Kirk. Responsibility to Traitor Kirk is kicking poor people into the gutter and ensuring the Mayor uses the power of Government to transfer wealth upwards to the Rich. All you really need to know about the Race for Chicago Mayor is the Rich and Republicans en masse are supporting Rahm Emmanuel.

Rahm is acutely aware of this and has been trying to tout his "Union" Support.

"While you may want to say Ken Griffin or other people, then you have to include all the members of the Unite Here Local 1 (a hospitality worker's group), all the members of the carpenters union, all the members of the electrician workers, all the Teamsters..." Mayor 1% Rahm Emmauel named a bunch more working class groups to show that he knows the little people.

However, this week alone Ken Griffin gave another $500,000 to a Re-elect Rahm PAC. A former Goldman Sachs executive Muneer Satter and his wife has donated another half million to Rahm. Officially Mayor 1% has raised $20 million for re-election.

Griffin and Bruce Rauner have each donated millions to Rahm's Election. Governor Rauner, since being sworn in, has done nothing but try to destroy Unions and screw over Working Class people. So, he sees in Rahm Emmanuel a kindred spirit. Rahm Emmanuel's entire tenure as Mayor has been a steady effort to balance the budget on the backs of the Working Man.

From his illegal Red Light Cameras with their 2 second yellows, closing down half a dozen mental health clinics that help the poor, and his decision to close schools in poor and minority communities while telling the Chicago Teacher's Union to lie back and enjoy it, Rahm has been nothing but a blight upon the Working Class and Neoliberal Hatchet Man.

Of course, the most grievous allegations are Rahm's tacit support(?) for the Chicago Police Black Site at Homan Square. Of course, Rahm's staunch supporters, the Republican Party and the Rich don't care about Homan Square because that abuse is heaped upon poor people and minorities.

Meanwhile, there is a better alternative for Chicago; Jesus "Chuy" Garcia.

Chuy Garcia worked in Mayor Harold Washington's cabinet, has resided and labored in Chicago for decades. The facts surrounding the despicable Rahm Emmanuel are so egregious Chuy forced a run-off during the Democratic Primary, the first time a sitting Chicago Mayor has ever faced such a defeat. But, that defeat galvanized the Rich and the Republicans and they kicked their slime ball tactics and big money smear campaign into high gear.

"Unless they get the crazy lefty money machine going nationally, it’s not going to matter that there’s a resurgent left,” said an adviser to Mr. Emanuel who did not want to speak publicly about strategy. "The liberals at Heartland Cafe in Rogers Park can think great thoughts and read poetry for Chuy, but nothing else will happen."

While, money is key; it is not the key to this election. Rahm, his PAC and his Rich Owners are terrified a slightly liberal moderate like Chuy Garcia will get into the Mayor's Office and disrupt their schemes to destroy the Teacher's Union, institute Charter Schools (funded by regular taxpayers) and end the tax haven Chicago has become so Corporations can funnel Billions of Dollars through the City at an infinitesimal tax rate.

The DOJ shouldn't have released the Ferguson Report (Updated)

The reason the Department of Justice and Attorney General Eric Holder should not have released the Report on Ferguson, MO is because it upset the narrative that's been sold to the American People; that it doesn't matter who you are, everyone in America is treated the same and has a fair shot.

I know many Officers, including several I work with who wished to treat the Michael Brown shooting as a singular event, which occurred ex nihilo, ignoring the years long mistreatment of the black community by the Ferguson Police Officers.

The behavior of the Officers in the DOJ report is shameful and brings dishonor upon all Police Officers for the criminal actions by those Officers and their superiors, who endorsed and encouraged said behavior.

That the FPD was used as a revenue generating arm of the local government is not surprising but, the collective shrug from conservatives is telling. The vast majority of conservatives treated the DOJ report with indifference because they agree with the way Ferguson treated minorities. They agree with using Police to nickel-and-dime the local residents as a way of filling budget gaps.

Conservatives agree with treating black people as guilty until proved innocent and with detaining, citing and fining them for the crime of Living While Black.

Of course some scumbag went and shot two Police Officers, and thus the focus is shifted, from the abuses of the Local Government and Ferguson Police so the System can avoid accountablility.

Conservatives leapt upon the shooting because right-wingers use people to advance their inhuman system of despicable evil, and rolled out the NYPD playbook of blaming the shooting of the Officers on Eric Holder, Al Sharpton, and the President. And thererfore, the Right-Wing Internet Fart Bubble all got on board and blamed the Protestors. Thus, allowing the substance of the Department of Justice Report to slide into the recesses of the internet memory hole.

A suspect has been arrested, apparently admitted to the shooting, and has been charged. But, not with attempted murder because the suspect wasn't shooting at the Cops, who were hit at a range of 125 yards. Even Darren Wilson's Defense Attorney, St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch was forced to admit the evidence did not support attempted murder charges as the suspect was charged with several lesser offenses.

Of course, this hasn't stopped the bleatings of the Right-Wing internet echo chamber which exists only to regurgitate each others incestuous farts.

As always the key is to ignore the bleatings of conservatives, who never add anything substantive to American Politics but, merely pout, flop, and wail like raw nippled chicken-little/chicken-hawks.

Conservative do naught but sow discontent, afflict the afflicted, comfort the comfortable and undermine the 99%. That's what conservatives do, that is the core essence of Conservatism today.

And we see once again, in the response to the abuses in Ferguson, that Conservatives agree with using the awesome power of Government to harass, impoverish, detain, arrest, and imprison minorities because Conservatives believe 98% of Black and Brown people are criminals.

Gov Pete Kinder retreated into right-wing meta-bigotry that Democrats are the real racists, "There is more racism in the Justice Department than there is in anywhere I see in the St. Louis area. It is the left. It is the Eric Holder and Obama-left and their minions who are obsessed with race, while the rest of us are moving on beyond it." AG Eric Holder was correct years ago when he noted Americans are cowards when it comes to talking about Race.

John Wrana's death and Police Use of Force

Park Forest Police Officer Craig Taylor is on trial for killing 95 year WWII Veteran John Wrana during a July 2013 incident at the elderly man's retirement home.

During the incident, Taylor used Less than Lethal shotgun beanbag rounds when Wrana brandished a knife. Taylor fired 5 rounds and the autospy reported two rounds struck Wrana in the abdomen and one in the chest. Wrana died five hours later of internal bleeding from the blunt force trauma.

Now, Taylor wasn't the only Officer present, four other Park Forest officers responded as well. During testimony, two of the others stated they were in fear of their lives during the incident, with the on scene Surpervisor testifying, "I thought deadly force was authorized and we were using reasonable force under the circumstances."

However, a use of force expert and former Secret Service surpervisor Francis Murphy, referred to the 5 officers' tactics as "officer-created jeopardy", criticized their decision making, and offered up several alternatives they should have used,

"They didn't start by giving it a cooling-off time. They kept going into his room and agitating him."

Murphy did testify trying to shield rush Wrana or using pepper-spray could have jeopadized the officers or caused serious injuries to Wrana as well.

Do the facts that Wrana was a white 95 year old WWII veteran and Taylor is an African-American have anything to do with the decision to prosecute? I don't know.

I do know something about this type of incident, having responded to several near exact situations. In a recent one, I responded to a call out to an Hospice/Elder Care building.

At 2 in the morning an elderly, confused, angry and frightened man had somehow gotten an old claw hammer (not an Estwing) which he had hit a nurse in the shoulder and was outisde his room pounding on doors and furniture.

My on duty sergeant and another officer showed up. While my Sergeant chatted up the old man I moved to his side and out of his perherial vision. Several pieces of furniture had been moved around the man by members of the staff. He absent-mindedly brandished the hammer and at one point raised it up over his right shoulder. At which point I grabbed the hammer and yanked it from his grasp.

The man turned at me and demanded I return his hammer calling me a "little sneak thief". While the gentleman refused to go to his room, he sat down in a nearby chair and quickly fell asleep.

So, what should be lesson and take away from this and other Use of Force incidents?

I'm not sure. What I do know is I and other Police Officers are being counted upon more and more often to respond to incidents which really require trained medical personnel or Social Workers. But, because right-wingers have thrown in with the Guard Dogs of the Plutocracy, funding for those people and programs has been slashed mercilessly.

And now Republicans are coming to steal Social Security and working on rolling back even the modest gains from Obamacare.

As New York's Whiniest continue their spectacle of entitlement and petulance, the New York Post is reporting Police Union Leaders have convinced the Thin Skinned Blue Line to engage in a work slow down. According to the Post,

overall arrests down 66 percent for the week starting Dec. 22 compared with the same period in 2013, stats show. 

Citations for traffic violations fell by 94 percent, from 10,069 to 587, during that time frame. 

Summonses for low-level offenses like public drinking and urination also plunged 94 percent — from 4,831 to 300. 

Even parking violations are way down, dropping by 92 percent, from 14,699 to 1,241. 

Drug arrests by cops assigned to the NYPD’s Organized Crime Control Bureau — which are part of the overall number — dropped by 84 percent, from 382 to 63.

From invoking the Stab-in-the-Back rhetoric to Disrespectful protesting at Funeral of a fellow Officer, the New York Police Department has put a permanent blemish on their Shields, which will take years of hard work to erase.

It's hard to see whom exactly the NYPD think they hurting with this work stoppage? The reaction to the drop in citations and the declaration Officers are making arrests "only when they have to" has been 'Super! keep up the great work'.

Now, perhaps the Officers are trying to bring Mayor de Blasio to heel by cutting off funding for the City Budget, but such a tacit admission that Police Departments, including the Nation's Largest, have been filling City Budget Holes on the backs of the Working Class probably isn't the message the NYPD wants to be sending.

Of course, the NYPD, as a monolithic organization, probably doesn't care what anyone thinks. But, the interesting phenomenon has been the sudden tack by the American Right back towards unwavering support for "Law & Order". Meanwhile, Right-Wing violence, up to and including murder of Police Officers, is coddled and encouraged in America.

Conservatives, of course, don't give a shit about individual Cops but, what they do love is exerting Power and Authority, especially the type traditionally enforced by Police Departments over their enemies.

Police Departments have always been the guardians of the 1%, the enforcers of the plutocracy, with specific goals of keeping the Working Class in line and incarcerating or killing minorities.

Law books are replete with "crimes" designed to nickel and dime the Poor and Working Class to make them pay for their own incarceration, with "fines, fees and costs".

Besides the constant threat of arrest and imprisonment for minor offenses, the Working Class faces the full power of the American Justice System while the 1% are free to swindle Billions and even escape unscathed because of their Affluenza.

Again, Conservatives love when Cops kill Black People (Eric Garner)

"We understood we couldn't make it illegal to be young or poor or black in the United States, but we could criminalize their common pleasure. We understood that drugs were not the health problem we were making them out to be, but it was such a perfect issue...that we couldn't resist it." - John Ehrlichman, White House counsel to President Nixon.

There is no indictment for the Police Officer who killed Eric Garner by a choke hold. The killings of Eric Garner, 12 year old Tamir Rice, Mike Brown and so many others are just the latest deaths which highlight Right-Wing beliefs in America today.

Conservatives love when Black People are killed. Now, that outright lynchings are no longer authorized, conservatives have taken to unwavering support of Police Officers murdering blacks by proxy.

Of course, every now and then a Right-Wing domestic terrorist decides Cops aren't killing enough "Thugs" and tries to take matters in his own hands;

[A] man driving a Town and Country minivan drove through the intersection and accelerated through the crowd. One woman was seen crouching on the hood of the minivan as the van continued forward. She fell off as the vehicle rounded a curve.
Protesters chased and then surrounded the minivan, and the driver waved a black handgun at them. At one point, protesters broke out the van’s back window. The van was dented, and police recovered a rock from the back seat. Police took the driver, a 57-year-old man, into custody.

Obviously, each of these incidents and subsequent deaths is unique and deserves careful review and investigation but, what comes through each and every time is that conservatives support the killing of blacks unquestionably.

Now, you might argue that Senator Rand Paul and the fake libertarians over at Reason Magazine have denounced and decryed the killing of Eric Garner for instance but what they've done is use the killing to denounce Government and Regulations. Reason which exists to justify, defend and succor the Plutocracy got the closest to denouncing the killing of Garner in a column by managing editor J. D. Tuccille, but at the last moment Tuccille has to veer into blaming the cigarette laws and government regulations.

Now, much to their credit some of the writers and commentors over at Reason found the inconsistencies with Wilson's Grand Jury Lies and McCulloch's ridiculous defense of Wilson odious and criminal.

But, according to Libertarians the important take away is that Government is the problem, the deaths of Black People are incidental. And this highlights the key issue; American Society does not value Black Peoples Lives. At all. Conservatives go beyond just devaluing black people and dehumanize and criminalize their very being.

Senator Rand Paul could not blame the racist right-wing culture from which he takes so much because as soon as he does that, the grift is over for him. So Senator Paul is reduced to echoing the Libertarian argument of blaming cigarette laws and not the prime cause; Conservatives.

To Conservatives the crime Mike Brown, Eric Garner and the many others killed by Cops are guilty of is: Unforgivable Blackness. 

The Fascist State & Henry Louis Gates

The Harvard Gates Incident (Gates-gate?) has highlighted a strange dissonance. I'll comment briefly on the actual incident, first.

The officers who responded to a Suspicious Person or possible Res Burg in Progress call, here is the Police version from the Smoking Gun. It ended with Gates ridiculously being arrested for Disorderly Conduct. I am not going to take sides with who is right and who is wrong. Half of the problem (with humanity in general and this incident specifically) is that men are unwilling to walk that mile in another's moccasins.

I work in a smaller suburb of Chicago so seeing a Sgt respond is unusual to me. But, Sgt Crowley did pretty much what I would have done; ask the gentlemen just to see his ID, explain the situation that I was responding to a neighbor's call of a possible Residential Burglary in progress. However, I don't think I would have entered the home (besides standing on the front porch) and I would have had my mic on to record the conversation.

After positively identifying Gates, I would have left no matter what "tumultuous" (good word!) behavior was being exhibited. Also, in Illinois I can not be the victim of a Disorderly Conduct complainant.

But... for the Right this has become a cause. Another avenue of attack onto Obama when he offered his opinion. However, it is a position which undercuts the entire Right Wing Extremist Attack Everything Obama Machine led by She Who Shall Not Be Named 2 screeching about the encroaching Obama-ACORN- Islamo Police State. The Right has been banging the Drum about Obama's Cops breaking into your home and stealing your guns. However, the Gates incident occurs.

So what does it show? It seems the Republicans and their brainwashed Zealots are only afraid of the Police and the Nazi-Obammunist encroaching Power of the State, unless... that power is being used to arrest a Black Man. Of course, the outright Racist Bigots, who flock to the Republican banner, will cheer the arrest of any black man at any time for any reason. But to the Toxic Commentators who propagandize for the Republicans this is another issue to try and wedge apart the 99% of American society it's another tool of division

That is why the Right Wing Extremists are in fits declaring the Police inviolate and the "Official" Police Report Sacrosanct (unless an "Official" Report warns about Right Wing Extremist Terrorism) and yet at the same time they want their teabagging people (Real Americans) to be in mortal fear of the Nazi-Obammunist Police State. This is because to the Right everything is to be used as a political tactic.

But the Republicans don't give a shit about Cops, they care for them the same way they care for the wounded Veterans at Walter Reed.

But, the Republicans Way of War is to say they care, to say they Support the Troops, to say they want freedom and Democracy. As if saying and doing are the same fucking thing.

So, they declare their solidarity with Police Officers everywhere when to Republicans all the Police are, are gatekeepers and warriors ensuring the riff-raff, the American people do not interfere with the Republican control of the Nation and the use of the Government to transfer of Billions of dollars to their cronies and their accounts in Switzerland.
