TNSTAAFL unless you're Republican Jack Kingston

"You see me reaching for my fucking wallet?" - Payback
To be fair to Representative Kingston, there's an entire class of wing-nuts on welfare.

There is an entire class of Moocher Conservatives paid to sit on their fleshy behinds and mouth the odious policies of the Plutocracy. Jonah Goldberg, that misshapen lump of chicken hawk flesh, is one of the most famous as he's been paid millions to write that Liberals = Hitler and to extol the virtues of War from the safety of his keyboard, simply because his mother tried to have President Clinton impeached for a blow job.

But, recently in their never-ending War on the 99%, Republicans have engaged in the glorious victories of taking food out of the mouths of children.

Jack Kingston who, of course, supported eliminating SNAP and voted for cuts went further by supporting the Newt Gingrich Plan of putting poor students to work mopping floors and scrubbing toilets in between their classes and after school
"But one of the things I’ve talked to the secretary of agriculture about: Why don’t you have the kids pay a dime, pay a nickel to instill in them that there is, in fact, no such thing as a free lunch? Or maybe sweep the floor of the cafeteria -- and yes, I understand that that would be an administrative problem, and I understand that it would probably lose you money," Kingston said at a Jackson County Republican Party meeting. "But think what we would gain as a society in getting people - getting the myth out of their head that there is such a thing as a free lunch."
Well, of course, it comes as no surprise that Jack 'Work Ethic' Kingston doesn't need to reach for his wallet when it comes to picking up his lunch tab.

"Jack Kingston and his staff expensed nearly $4200 [$4182] in meals for business purposes to his congressional office, paid for by the American taxpayer," WSAV Channel 3 Dan Kartunen reported.

WSAV also found that Kingston also racked up $4289 of free meals paid for by third-party groups like the Georgia Bankers Association and the Congressional Institute. Kingston also expensed $145,391 worth of meals for campaign events.

So, Mr. TNSTAAFL racked up $153,862 in free lunches or nearly his entire Congressional Salary.

So, what's the quid pro quo for those lunches picked up by the Georgia Bankers? And is it just sheer hypocrisy or does Jack Kingston not equate his free lunches with mooching?

The Founding Fathers believed that running the Government was their aristocratic duty and wanted to do so for no salary.

Today's Congress members are paid a yearly salary of $174,000 but, half of the current Congress are millionaires. And today's millionaires not only feel they are owed an outsized amount of respect but, loads of gratis; millions of dollars in off-the-books gifts, a lunch here, an all expense paid trip to Taiwan Peter Roskam Style there...

Thus it's only to be expected that Congressmen like Jack Kingston have no empathy for the Poor and responds to the whims and tantrums of the Plutocracy, they are them.

TNSTAAFL - the Libertarian Party motto, comes from Robert Henlein's novel The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, one of the founding documents of Libertarianism, in which a magical all-knowing, all-powerful Deus Ex Machina computer is needed in order to make libertarian values succeed.

Addendum:
With all the despicable antics coming from the Republican Party these days, I forgot to add Kingston also displays a level of ignorance and myopia that comes from never having to worry about where your next meal comes from. At all level of education, school lunch programs have free and reduced levels.

But, a puke like Jack Kingston would only know this if he actually cared about Representing his Congressional District as opposed to gearing up for Senate and trying to inflict as much pain on the Poor to appease his Rich Owners as possible.

It is not mooching because he does their bidding. It is more like having a second job, a really good second job with cafeteria benefits.

Is it really so evil to try to instill a work ethic in our next generation?

And how does living off the public trough instill "a work ethic in our next generation"? Are,you fucking crazy?

That's my point exactly Jerry. If the kids continue to come through the line and not pay a cent for their meal where's the work ethic?

Even if it's so heavily subsidized that they have to hand over a penny to receive their meal they will come to understand the universal truth that TNSTAAFL>

Chickenhammer,

I'll answer your question as though it was offered in a genuine sense of debate, even though we both know you are trolling,

Kingston's effort isn't to instill a work ethic, otherwise all students would have to participate not just the poor ones. The goal is to shame the poor, and in the case of school lunches it's especially shameful because it's not like a 7 or 10 year old is responsible for his economic station in life.

And are you also pretending to be obtuse? Do you think a poor school kid should have to mop up the messes made by other kids? Who get to watch someone else pick up their mess? How low can you get? How is that instilling a work ethic in the economically stable child's life.

But, it's a nice job of deflecting away from Jack Kingston a despicable little man who has no qualms about receiving all sorts of freebies while he makes sure to tell the poor to Get a Job.

I'm talking about Kingston, you know, the subject of this post. His actions and words do nothing to instill a work ethic. They merely reduction government costs at the expense of children; simply another form of child abuse.

Don't beat your head against the keyboard Jerry. Chickenhammer isn't interested in an honest dialogue (most of the time) but in deflection.
