It's Time to Cancel Christmas

The bomb cyclone and deep arctic freeze which settled over the midwest snarled and cancelled the Christmas plans of many people.  My flight was cancelled as Chicago endured -35 wind chill, although the snow totals were far lower than at first predicted as the low pressure system settled in Quebec instead of southern Illinois,

"We've been getting questions about 'what happened to all that snow?'" the National Weather Service out of Milwaukee/Sullivan tweeted early Friday. "The main reason is due to where the low pressure system tracked and deepened. Earlier this week, it looked like the low would be deepening just to our south. Now, it's doing that in Quebec. We had a number of days in a row earlier this week and over last weekend which was showing us the more favorable track. Over the past few days, that started to trend further east which then led to less of a chance of high snow amounts."

But, what this indicates is trying to move 100,000,000 people during the beginning of Winter is sub-optimal plan especially as the effects of Climate Change continue to exert themselves with these "Once-in-a-Generation" Storms which happen every year, so we should simply move the Christmas Holiday to late June.  I've thought mid-June was a perfect spot for a Federal Holiday but, last year the US Government under Joe Biden and a Democratic Congress approved Juneteenth as a Federal Holiday.  So perhaps we could set New Xmas between Juneteenth and the 4th of July or set it for late July, that would be a great time to have people get together.

Christmas being in December is a christian plot anyway.  The young Hebrew rabbi known as Yeshua ben Nazareth who claimed to be the physical son of God never existed.  Many of the stories, miracles, and anecdotes of "Jesus" were cribbed from previous Pagan deities.  This was specifically decided by early church leaders to make Jesus similar to Pagan myths and ease the transition from Pagan to christian in the Ancient Roman world.  And the choice of late December was directly copied from the Winter Solstice and Io Saturnalia.  Now, of course I don't expect any change of Christmas to every occur.  Eventhough I'm an atheist I'm not "Militant" as the christians throw that modifier on to anyone who points out the correct historical understanding of the early church.

In many ways, the religious fanatics in America are similar to their counterparts in Iran or the Taliban of Afghanistan.  Here in the United States, they are constrained and unable to enforce the religious dictates backed by State violence as opposed to those Muslim fanatics.  But, fear not the Religious Zealots on America are working on that!  And they will do so via the Courts.

They tried to use "Religious Liberty" as a mechanism to shut down Civil Rights in the 1950's and 60's but didn't have the established legal precedents to call upon.  But, since the 1971 Justice Lewis Powell Memo rightwing organizations especially the Reagan Era Federalist Society have slowly ensconced religious wackos on the Bench and built up a body of Case Law enshrining religious beliefs into various levels of government. 

Now I know there's a lot of #NotAllChristian apologia whenever it's revealed that high level religious zealots have the ear of Sammy di Puzzi Alito and other members of The Supremacist Court or when podunk State legislators make secular laws based on biblical teachings or when secret recordings of fundamentalist fanatics outlining their completely disingenuous arguments to abolish all Abortion are released, it all comes back to what christians in America want; total control of peoples' lives and State backed power to force you to live by their religious precepts.  And they are going to call this realm of death, oppression, and persecution the Land of Liberty defending the Freedom of Religion.

Jesus and Santa Claus are White Men! It's a Verifible Fact

Faux News anchor babe, Megyn Kelly, who before this Xmas was most famous for being ordered by Karl Rove to get up off her tush and walk her sweet sweet self down to the vote tabulating area, where Men would tell her that Nope Mitt Romney won the 2012 Presidency, has some bad news for you historians! Jesus and Santa are white males.

"And by the way for all you kids watching at home Santa just is white but this person is just arguing that maybe we should have a black santa," Megyn Kelly's opening statement against a Slate article by Aisha Harrris.

Of course, no "kids" are watching Megyn Kelly's Infotainment Show at 9pm Eastern, her spot is on to appeal to the Faux demographic old perverted white males who need constant reassurance the lord has blessed them as the masters of the universe.

During the segment, Megyn Keely even affected the I'm sharing a not so secret hands around the mouth megaphone maneuver and sly sideways glances at the camera which let the viewer know; Duh, it's a "verifiable fact" that jesus and santa are white.

"My point is, how do you just revise it in the middle of the legacy of the story and change Santa from white to black?" Megyn Kelly. 

"Yeah, I mean you can't!" Monica Crowley.

I believe these two just play the good-looking dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks Info Babes on Faux News, but short history lesson the appearance of jesus and santa have changed over time. Cultures, many of whom were forcibly converted to christianity, eventually made their new lord look like them. It was easier for the rulers and the people to have a deity who shared their aspects. Have a glance at the (surviving) Byzantine frescoes and mosiacs, the jesus and mary of those had the swarthy appearance of the people's of the Byzantium Empire. jesus didn't begin to resemble Bjorn Borg until the christians conquered and converted Northern Europe.

But, that's knowledge and that is strictly anathema to Faux News.

Ah Race... The bullshit construct of the 18th century is still plaguing us today. Race catergories come from a time when phrenology, animal magnetism and other pseudosciences were being winnowed away from actual scientific discourses.

But, Race based on external charaterisitics is especially silly today as genotyping and DNA mapping can show exactly from where one's ancestors originated. For instance, when North Dakota White Supremacist Craig Cobb learned that 1/7th of his genes are sub-saharan African.

The War on Christmas Continues...

In 2009, christianity suffered so much that even Rick Warren had to beg for money, most likely because jesus was going to descend and kill him if he didn't get a quick influx of cash. However, with everyone caught in Rick Warren's shameless use of Religion to make himself wealthy an under reported story from Vernon Hills, IL (just North of the City) finds the poor poor church being persecuted. Cuneo had something grander in mind. He suggested giving the university the historic Cuneo Museum and Gardens in Vernon Hills, including the mansion's art and furnishings, an adjacent 50 acres, and funds for upkeep of the property. The gift from Cuneo, his wife, Herta, and the Cuneo Foundation, estimated at about $50 million, is the largest in the school's history.

The Church wanted $15 million but got an estate deeded to them worth $50 million. But, the christians in this land have convinced themselves they are under attack and suffering biblical (ha ha) persecution.

But, christianity in America is under siege. Many false christians in this country use the less skeptical piety of their fellow believers to advance themselves and their personal beliefs. Trumpeting the way by lying and peals of false piety is Fox News with nightly segments designed to hijack religion for their use.

The Punk Ass Bitch Republicans and their Fox News cheerleaders co-opted christianity to use it as a wedge. Because the entire REMFpublican platform is to convince their vegetative supporters that even though the Republican Party hates America, wants to destroy the Constitution, prays for successful Terrorist Attacks and uses the deaths of Americans to advance and enrich themselves all Fox has to say is so and so Republican is a christian.

And who made jesus angry?

On this fake blessed day it's time to remember the one group of people whom even jesus hated and distrusted; Bankers.

Yes Bankers, as a group, could drive the prince of peace to violence.

And overwhelmingly what political party do Bankers vote for and identify with; The Republicans. Therefore it is safe to infer jesus hates Republicans. And it's irrefutable because it's in the bible.
