Forget Florida focus on the Four (Five) Southwest Corner States

The United States is a center-left Nation.  On every issue, Democrats represent the overwhelming will of America.  Yet...  the Republican Party persists.  It's no secret why Republicans still threaten the United States, they've inflitrated the Government and subverted laws and rights at every opportunity to ensure their agenda of oppression and subjugation continues to plague the American people.

It appears America's dildo is a lost cause for the foreseeable future. Florida has had steady trickle of angry Reactionary white boomers coalescing in the infected tip.  And those boomers are red-faced and furious. They were the golden children of America. They were going to live forever. The World was there's for the taking.  And then they got old.

Meanwhile, Soft Focus Kari Lake lost her bid to be the pugnacious Trumpette of Arizona.  And the Democrats won throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, okay Nevada, were the Machinery set up by Harry Reid continues to churn out wins for the Democrats.

The Southwest is already a blue bulwark against the sea of red which rolls over the empty High Plains of the Nation.  So, accept that, with the exception of an odd House district in Florida, the Southwest should be the focus of effort along with the old so-called rust belt states.  Because Republicans in the US House and Rightwingers in back room meetings continue to indicate that should they get power, women are going to be reduced to second class citizens bereft of the basic rights to bodily autonomy and Republicans will aid Vladimir Putin and other Authoritarian leaders roll back progressive gains and ensconce a new era of Fascism on the Globe.

Elections have consequences time to stick the Republicans with them

Next year, when the United States enters the Trump Presidency and total control of all 3 branches of Government by the Republicans its' imperative the Democratic Party offers up no support. That is Democrats should vote against every proposal the Republicans push forward for the next 4 years.

The Republicans have a 51-49 margin in the Senate and a comfortable 45 vote control in the House, but it's time the Democratic Party eliminate one of the greatest weapons the Media, holier-than-thou Leftists in the Greens, and Libertarians offer up at election time; i.e. That Both Parties are the Same. 

When Republicans propose their Swindling of Social Security by funnelling it into Wall Street where it will vanish as so many life savings and pensions did in the 2007 Republican Recession, vote No as a solid party. While white 65 year olds who voted for Trump will be angry, they've already shown themselves to be fuck you I got mine assholes so don't worry about them. But, show those 55 and younger whom Republicans are going to swindle out of Social Security who is solely responsible.

When Republicans repeal Obamacare on Day one and have nothing to replace it with, don't throw them a lifeline, offering them Medicare for All. Because Paul Ryan and the REpublicans already have a scheme to dismantle Medicare as well. Whatever half-assed remedy the Republicans propose don't vote for it. Run on the platform of the Republican Party passed legislation without a single Democratic Vote. Admittedly this will be the hardest sell. Democrats in Government want to help people and will probably support a healthcare law because it will help someone. Whereas Republicans know not only will they suffer no blowback from conservatives even when Republican policies hurt them and, in fact, conservatives will more vociferously back Republicans the more harmful the GOP is towards them the Democrats will get no support from anyone when they block legislative efforts the way Republicans do.

When Republicans propose to Concentrate illegal immigrants into Camps awaiting deportation make speeches on the House and Senate go on every Sunday talk show and vote No.

When Republicans lead by Senators Tom Cotton and Jon McCain void the Iran Nuclear Deal and vote to impose military sanctions and go to War in the Middle East again, Vote No. Even though the Media led by Faux News will castigate the Democratic Party as traitors, don't let a future generation of conservatives lay the entire blame for an Iran War on the Democratic Party as Trump and the Right-Wing laid the entire blame for the Iraq War Debacle on to HRC and her one vote as Senator.

Senator Tom Cotton one of the 47 Republican traitors who sent a letter to Iran declaring that when President Obama was out of office, the U.S. Would not honor treaties has proposed restarting water-boarding. Proclaim loudly Waterboarding is Torture. Bring up Sean Hannity's decade old boast he would be water-boarded and vote no.

When the FBI is tasked with assassinating and incarcerating everyone remotely associated with #BlackLivesMatter don't lend them cover. Again angry resentful white people are going to back the efforts against blacks 100% but, they've already shown they always support Republicans.

When the Republicans retask Drone Warfare onto the U.S.-Mexico Border to "capture" illegals don't support the protecting the borders spin and don't help the Republicans.

When Trump fires all the Generals who disagree with him about the ease of eliminating ISIS don't vote for his hand-picked yes, man for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The Democratic Party has to accept that the Media will savagely slander them for the next 4 years as Anti-American, as Traitors, as Sore Losers, for their unprecedented intransigence but, the Media has clearly shown they loved the last 14 months of Trump and didn't care about the Democratic Party proposals.

Additionally, moving forward Democratic Presidents and Congresses need to stop accepting the responsibility of cleaning up Republican messes. This will be the hardest of all because Democratic administrations believe in governance.

Bill Clinton cleaned up the bombast and explosive debt of Ronnie Raygun and Bush the Lesser and President Obama cleaned up the messes of Dick Cheney, George the Worst, and the Republican Congress. Stop doing that. Let the wounds inflicted by Republicans fester and rot away the WWC.

Now, most difficult of all will be Donald Trump's Impeachment. Do. Not. Help. With. This.

President-Elect Trump is facing the trial for Trump University and will soon be suing the dozen women who have accused him of criminal sexual assault so it would seem tempting to remove Trump but, this will play right into the hands of the Republicans.

Republicans would love to get rid of Trump and have Pence as President. It would allow them the veneer of respectability and reasonableness in the Executive Branch, while they pursue the same strategies they would have with Trump in charge. But, it would also let the Republican play the victim to the bigoted WWC voters. Republicans would bemoan those dastardly Democrats treacherously depriving the WWC of their True Champion Donald Trump while the media could comfortably slip back into their preferred narrative of Both Sides Do It.

Paul Ryan just announced that as part of repealing Obamacare he plans to phase out Medicare and replace it with private insurance for retirees.

Why do Conservatives sell themselves so cheaply to the Republican Party?

As America moves forward into the 21st century, the 2016 election has produced reams of justifications for White Working Class (WWC) continued defection to the Republican Party, under the catch-all of "economic anxiety".

Of course, it's a surreal joke that the WWC supports the very same party which has been cutting their economic throats all along. Even now, Donald Trump's supposed campaign alludes to the vague promise of making America Great again and delusions of so much winning you (the white males who comprise his supporters) will get tired of it.

Now, I know why conservatives like James O'Keefe, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, or whomever fluff the flagging Republican Party, they get paid handsomely to do so. But, besides the occasional state law, like Mike Pence's feel free to discriminate against non-christians law or Governor McCory's beat up non-conformists in bathrooms law, the Republican Party has done the bidding of the 1% and advanced the interests of the Plutocracy, while doing nothing to help and much to harm the WWC. So, why do the WWC cling to the Republican Party so tightly after receiving little tangible benefit?

Since the election of evil Ronnie Raygun, Conservatives and especially the WWC have gotten nothing from the Republican Party so why do they keep going back to them?

All of Bill Clinton's outreach and all of Barack Obama's outreach was met with disdain, anger, and threats/acts of violence by conservatives. And while the right-wing hatred of HRC can be explained by the ceaseless conservative agitprop of the last 25 years, it would seem that their hatred of Barack Obama was baseless. After all Obama embodies many of the ideals and values conservatives claim to cherish, save for one "flaw" i.e. His unforgivable blackness.

And this gets to Trump's other core campaign promise; the concrete guarantee of an ethnically, racially, and morally unjust society.

And this is the terrible truth the Left must confront in the United States, race will always Trump class in American politics. Since the antebellum era, the Ruling elites sought out and implemented policies which divided the WWC from minorities. Of course, what many leftists seemingly fail to want to admit is it's time to give up on the WWC.

Because the modern Democratic Party didn't abandon the WWC, whites left the Democratic Party, first as a slow trickle under Nixon's Southern Strategy and then in a mass exodus for the Hollywood myth of Ronnie Raygun. Of course, the modern Democratic Party has been frantically wooing, cajoling, and reaching out to the WWC for the past 35 years but, it's time to tell the WWC they need to come to the left.

If the WWC doesn't recognize that minorities rights are their rights. If they can't understand that LGBTQ issues are their issues. If they refuse to understand #blacklivesmatters means their lives matter then why keep feeding into their white victimization syndrome? Why keep pampering their white resentment?

It's time the WWC recognize they've shackled themselves to a party which hates them, that the Republican Party bought them cheaply, and has no intention of ever helping them, but simply employs the WWC as goon squad, and ply them off with tawdry religiosity, shoddy bigotry, and promises of Apartheid Utopia.

Bernie Sanders needs to care about #Blacklivesmatter because Republicans do not (Update: Bernie Sanders is a Nazi)

In the Marine Corps my job was to focus on WET (Weather, Enemy, Terrain), the biggest enemy of America today is the Republican Party, on whom most of my posts focus.

But, it's important for the leaders of the Democratic Party or those who wish to secure the Democratic Presidential Nomination to remember not to take votes for granted.

#Blacklivesmatter descended upon Netroots Nation 15 and made a couple candidates, Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley uncomfortable. From all the reporting I've read O'Malley acquitted himself well, staying and speaking 1-on-1 with people, allowing them to voice their concerns. But, Bernie Sanders was apparently unprepared and could not deviate from his message about economic injustice and income inequality from which he ardently believes all injustices in the United States flow.

While, I tend to believe that more economic opportunities for Americans would help eliminate some of the problems we face, People of Color face another more dangerous barrier, which I do not. The frightening prospect that they will be killed by Police Officers or Stand Your Ground Gun Maniacs who adhere to the Conservative belief that all people of color are criminals.

All the white progressives posting and tweeting their irritation that Bernie Sanders was "ambushed" at the Netroots Nation conference and upset the GOP candidates aren't being subjected to similar tactics need to check themselves and understand #Blacklivesmatter isn't going to approach Republicans because they understand Republicans don't believe Black Lives Matter. Republicans are perfectly content with the situation as it exists today. Republicans are absolutely fine with Police Officers murdering People of Color.

But, Bernie Sanders is ostensibly running for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. As such, he needs to address the issues of Democrats, whom People of Color overwhelmingly, support and identify.

And if Bernie wants to win a nomination outside the comfy confines of his home state of Vermont he needs to be able to field hard questions and weather a few punches thrown his direction from the Left because the despicable vitriol, evil hatred, and vicious attacks from the Right during the campaign will dwarf this incident.

Update: And just like that the odious Kevin D. Williamson of the Conservative Cesspool NationalReview has labeled Bernie Sanders a National-Socialist.  

In the Bernieverse, there’s a whole lot of nationalism mixed up in the socialism. He is, in fact, leading a national-socialist movement, which is a queasy and uncomfortable thing to write about a man who is the son of Jewish immigrants from Poland and whose family was murdered in the Holocaust. But there is no other way to characterize his views and his politics.  

Williamson goes on in his putrid article to use the National Socialism tag an additional four times as he obliquely proclaims Senator Sanders is Adolf Hitler. And remember Bernie isn't even a real threat at this point and Conservatives are more than willing to go full HITLER! on him.

Now, of course I understand the Corporate Conservative Media can't wait to use this incident to ratfuck the Democratic Party because that's what they do. The Media serve the interests of the Plutocracy and that is the main opponent of Bernie Sanders.

In reality, though this incident is of little concern because Hillary Rodham Clinton is by far and away the front runner for the Democratic Nomination. But, the Left needs to ensure all the disparate voices of their collation are heard.

Reclaiming Democratic Values, Championing the Working Class and Making America Great

Most liberals have convinced themselves the disastrous Right-Wing Tea Party policies and outright appeals to hatred and bigtory would send the American Voter fleeing away from the Republicans.

Coupling this with the inevitable march of demographics, Liberals have been blissfully congratulating themselves on their Future Ascendancy and electoral dominance.

But, the belief in Demographic Destiny is a pipe dream. In much the same way Karl Rove spoke of Republican 100-year Reich, the Democratic Party has exuded smug Hubris that all they need do is exist in order to win Elections. As Tim Donovan at Suffolk Resolves wrote, There is no Demographic Destiny.

So, despite Democratic Congressional Candidates winning more votes in 2012, in the aggregate, and the overwhelming support for Center-Left referendums in 2014, Liberals and Democrats are faced with Republican control of the US Senate and Republican dominance of the US House, State Legislatures and Governorships.

But, besides their Hubris and the cashing-in on future voters the Democratic Party's downfall also stems from the free reign the gave to the Republicans to woo the working class white male.

Now, why would the faux populism of the Republican Party appeal to working class white men? There never has been a more implacable foe of the Working Class than the Modern Republican Party.

One of the key beliefs, which I have believed as well, was that Republicans had duped Working Class Whites into voting against their Own Economic Interests. But, is that true? But, is that how the Working Class White Man and Woman sees it? The answer is obviously not.

The perception by the White Working Class is they have been betrayed by the Democratic Party and the new Platform focus on gays, blacks and women.

There is a lot of hindsight going. The PPACA (Obamacare) legislation was beneficial to white people (no caps on lifetime coverage, no pre-existing conditions, for instance) but, because the Conservative Internet Fart Bubble was allowed to frame the rhetoric as Death Panels and welfare for black people, Working Class whites don't see the Democratic Party as their Party or even their ally anymore.

While the Republicans are committed to eliminating the Social Safety net and reducing the vast majority of Americans to Wage Slavery and Corporate Bondage, the white working class sees itself ostracized, shunned and abandoned by the Democratic Party.

It's not true but, as always perception is truth. So, while it's impossible to not see that Republicans are fanatically determined to destroy the Progressive Gains of the 20th century, Working Class people are focused on the now and the immediate future.

Long-term unemployment, millions of foreclosures, crippling personal debts and bankruptcies, the evaporation of savings and retirement accounts, and the crumbling of the country;s infrastructure are taking place as billions in taxpayer subsidies, obscene profits, bonuses and compensation are doled out to the corporate overlords. - Chris Hedges, Death of the Liberal Class, pg.181

Since 2007, after George W(orst President Ever) Bush and the Republican Party crashed the economy the Democratic Party had an opportunity to pivot towards Economic Populism and reclaim the Will of the American People.

But, the Democrats have been caught by the trap laid by the Plutocracy. Unless you are a Senator like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren it's hard to ignore that Money = Campaign = Victory.

Occupy Wall Street offered the Democratic Party another chance to pick up the mantle of Champion of the Working Class. Which is why Plutocracy moved so quickly to undermine and destroy it.

So, the Democrats did not offer any help to people struggling to pay bills, keep their house, take care of aging parents, raise kids, work longer hours and pick up extra jobs. And the White Working Class was forced to choose the least-worst candidate and they are increasingly choosing Republicans.

There is a way to reclaim the white working class and win elections, while also inhabiting the moral high ground and providing the American Voter a government they know is looking out and seeking to protect them.

Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Warren are the strong voices promoting Left-Wing Economic Populism. They are devoted to helping the Working Class, safeguarding the Social Safety Net and restoring the American Dream.

Senator Warren has said she is not running for President but, Bernie Sanders has stated if enough Americans, if enough of the 99%, are willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with him he will take on the Koch Brothers and the 1%.

Again there is no Demographic Destiny. If We, the People stand together we can reclaim the Democratic Values which made this Nation Great in the 20th Century.

But, We must act because as Tim Donovan wrote at Suffolk Resolves,

Whichever party first grabs the mantle of economic populism will earn the support of a rising generation fed up with the politics of the moment, a generation wholly unsympathetic to the broken, ineffectual Reagan consensus that’s still so dominant today.

The Democratic Party needs to Stop Whining and Start Fighting

Republicans are obstructionists, Republicans are not helping us, Republicans just say no to everything, Republicans this, Republicans that; every Democrat in DC laments. Yes. Yes. Yes we know. 80% of the American people know. What the American people also want to know is; what are the Democrats going to do about it? When will Democrats stop tolerating the intolerant Republican menace?

Yes, we know that John Kyl and the Republicans are holding up the START treaty with Russia, endangering every American life, for the sole purpose of making President Obama look bad.

Yes, we know that Mitch McConnell, Jim Bunning, Richard Shelby and every Republican will block all legislation and nominations by the Obama's Executive branch, no matter what, for the sole purpose of making President Obama look bad.

Yes, we know that Republicans will never accept homosexuals as people let alone in the military no matter how many polls show the current military members don't give a damn, no matter if a hundred retired Generals and Admirals say it's time to let people serve openly, and no matter how many times Bush appointed Secretary of Defense Gates says it's time to change the policy.

Yes, we know that conservative Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito have diligently done their duty to their Moneyed Masters in the Citizens United SCOTUS ruling and are now busy collecting their kickbacks and payoffs.

Yes, we know that Republicans use their position in Federal Government to funnel Billions of Taxpayer dollars to corporations, which then, give them consulting jobs and speaking engagements as bribes and kickbacks.

Yes, we know that Republicans would eliminate all regulations on Business allowing Brown & Williamson (now Reynold's American), BP, Halliburton, Massey Energy to sell deadly products to Americans and work employees in dangerous or deadly conditions.

Yes, we know that Republicans champion the continuation of the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan just as staunchly as they refuse to serve in them.

Yes, we know that Republicans are immune to reason when their blatant partisan hypocrisy is highlighted by Rachel Maddow or Jon Stewart.

Yes, we know that the vast majority of Republicans, like Tom DeLay, are convicted criminals who brazenly use campaign money to buy influence and steal elections.

But, what we progressives and liberals want to know is when are you going to stop trying to make friends with the Republican bullies who keep making you look foolish in your outreach efforts? We want to know when you are going to stop turning the other cheek and start meeting Republican lies and intolerance with truth and strength? When are the Democrats going to Fight Back against the Republican Menace?
