One of the persistent myths surrounding the Republican Party is they are the party of Law & Order.  Nothing is more ridiculous.  Republicans work tirelessly to undo laws and sow disorder into every system possible.  Republicans believe their lies about the Constitution only existing to restrain government and do everything they can to unshackle Business to engage in criminality and gross negligence.  Back the Blue and Thin Blue Line regalia are just rhetorical cudgels the right spouts to bash the left.  Just as they did with railroad safety, the Trump Maladministration specifically rolled back bank regulation and rules to constrain risky bank behavior.

After the W(orst POTUS Ever) Administration exploded the US Economy with the 2007 Republican Great Recession, conservatives took every opportunity to blame President Carter and fair housing laws enacted in the 1970's.  Republicans and Rightwing strategists know in this era of Rightwing drones being spoon-feed non-stop propaganda, it is easy for the Daily Caller, Breitbart, Faux News and Republicans to push the clever soundbite headline "GO WOKE, GO BROKE" and then rely on the relentless repetition and the ever churning news cycle to derail any detailed reporting of the true causes of collapse.

SVB failed because the Trump Regime rolled back financial rules constraining bad bank behavior.  After regulations are lessened or removed that's when Vulture Capitalists swoop in and Peter Thiel did it again,

Do you remember in 2015 when the EPA investigated and attempted to clean up abandoned mines in Colorado and were overwhelmed by the negligent malefeacance of the companies who just up and abandoned the toxic waste products?  So that the Animas River was turned into an orange sludge from millions of gallons of waste which spilled into it?  Hey, that business in America let someone else clean up your mess and if they fuck it up well that's on them!

Vance for Senator.  But, now that the white people of Ohio's votes for Republicans and deregulation are coming back to destroy them and their communities it's time to shift the blame.

The only reason Republicans want the trains to run on time and not derail is because they are planning on using them the same way their ideological ancestors in Germany did; to round-up the people the Republicans hate and send them to death camps.

Republicans repeatedly assert eliminating regulations actually helps the EPA, saves money, and protects Americans. It's a game the Republicans have played for a long time; often with the concept of Regulatory Capture; i.e. placing an implacable foe of regulation in charge of regulatory bodies. Often Republicans would claim any regulation, any enforcement, any interference with Private Enterprise is burdensome, costly, and unnecessary. But, nowadays in the Era of the MAGA Cult, they have dispensed with the need to even put the facade of enforcing laws to hold back the rapacious Capitalist corporations. Instead, all Republicans need do is invoke President Obama's name and claim This Law is Socialist! and conservatives willingly assist in their own poisoning.

I would like to say Trump and the Republican Party policies are, figuratively and literally, blowing up in their faces. But, the world doesn't work that way. Republicans are shielded from the consequences of their actions on guns, on healthcare, on terrorism, on climate change, on relaxing safety regulations. Instead the fallout from Republican policies indiscriminately kills all Americans regardless of political belief.

But, despite predicted massive oil spills, toxic pollution, plant explosions, mine collapses, poisoned drinking water, preventable deaths on the job Republicans understand most people don't care as long it's not happening in their backyard. And for those that do care there is the powerful sense of 'what can I do?' and the despair at feeling powerless against these corporate behemoths who are fervently protected by Republican politicians.

So, Republicans continually trot out the Myth of Self-Regulation** and the lies about eliminating regulations actually making Americans safer because they know too many Americans are struggling with day-to-day concerns to keep track of and hold Republicans accountable for the rightwing agenda of oppression, intolerance and shackling Americans into perpetual Wage Slavery and Corporate Bondage.

GM's Ignition Switch is a direct result of Republican beliefs in the Myth of Self-Regulation

General Motors has revealed (or had exposed) a flaw in their ignition system affecting the following models; Chevy Cobalt and HHR, the Pontiac G5, and Saturn ION mainly between the 2005 to 2007 models. The ignition flaw known to GM engineers and officals, possibly as early as 2002, and which underwent a quiet in-house redesigning in 2006, was not announced for recall until February 10, 2014.

Currently, 34 traffic crashes and 12 deaths are linked (albeit not yet conclusively) to the flaw which causes the ignition to turn off under heavy jarring as in an impact or while driving on bad road conditions.

Government Regulations require Corporations report flaws to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as soon as they become reasonably aware of the flaw or defect, but under George W. Bush, General Motors, as illustrated with the 2006 quiet redesign, and other Corporations in the United States felt utterly secure in not reporting or following any regulations.

Like all Republicans, The Bush Administration cultivated an Air of Neglect and assured Americans that Corporations would Self-Regulate. The Myth of Self-Regulation is that Companies would never defraud, negligently or maliously harm consumers because by doing so they would, in fact, be harming themselves. So since it's in their self-interest Corporations will correct problems and not engage in criminal activity. What actually happens is Corporations routinely flout regulations because they know No Republican will ever prosecute them for their criminal negligence.

Part and parcel of their absolute devotion to the Myth of Self-Regulation, Republicans often hamstring Regulatory bodies by underfunding and slashing their budget or neutering their enforcement powers, but even worse Bush and other Republicans often place people who are explicitly hostile to Regulatory Bodies in positions of authority over those organizations.

Under Bush and his Republican brethren, the NHTSA, the EPA, the MHSA, the SEC and every other Governmental Regulatory body were neutered so that Businesses could engage rapacious profiteering and whatever criminal activity they desired.

Because Republicans want a Corporate Plutocracy controlling the Nation while the 99% are shackled in perpetual Corporate Bondage and Wage Slavery.

What the Republicans and their Moneyed Masters really mean when they recite their mantras is the 1% plans to use the Awesome Power of Government to siphon off money from the from the Poor and Working Class and transfer it to the Rich.

What they seek is giving Corporations and the Rich total economic control over the Nation. The great trick, ALEC and the Rich have pulled is stealing from and oppressing people and getting those people to blame the Government for it.

Freedom Industries poisoned the entire water supply for 300,000 Americans in West Virginia an incident which would have Faux News calling for Jack Bauer to torture every brown person he could find and the Impeachment of President Obama if it was alleged to have been caused by muslim terrorists. Yet, since it was due to the criminal negligence and malfeasance of a Corporation, Speaker of the House John Boehner immediately put the blame on Too Much Regulation and... President Obama.

It turned out that in the last days of the George W(orst President Ever) Bush Regime, 52,000 Americans illegally stole and moved Hundreds of Billions of purloined loot from the United States into Switzerland. 6 months later UBS agreed to pay a $780 million dollar fine (an unheard of event in the history of Swiss Banking) to keep the names and total dollar amounts stolen secret.

Now, RNC propagandists Reince Priebus and Solomon Yue are pushing for a repeal of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), which is set to take effect on 07/01/14.

Approved in 2010 after a tax-avoidance scandal involving a Swiss bank, FATCA requires most foreign banks and investment funds to report to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service information about U.S. customers' accounts worth $50,000 or more.

Of course, the Super Rich who control this country want the Law repealed. The Rich in this Nation aren't increasing the wealth through elbow grease and hard work but through byzantine tax laws, legerdemain and political control.

The American Plutocratic Overlords do want a smaller government; small enough to fit in their pocket. And that is what their Wholly Owned Republican and Pro-Business Democratic henchmen are paid to accomplish.

Jet Blue blames the Government for their failures

Record Cold has hampered all manner of travel and business throughout the Nation. Hit especially hard have been airline flights.

More than 400 JetBlue flights were canceled Monday, with another 120 flight cancellations on Tuesday, airline officials stated.

JetBlue didn't blame the weather. JetBlue didn't blame complications which come from arctic cold and huge snow falls. JetBlue didn't blame their lack of preparation. JetBlue didn't blame their failure to hire enough pilots, flight crews, and ground staff. Nope, JetBlue blamed the Government.

"In the midst of us repairing those schedules disrupted by this week's winter storms, we're facing an additional challenge as new FAA rules went into effect for crew rest," JetBlue spokeswoman Tamara Young said. "These rules further impact our ability to operate an already disrupted schedule, causing our pilots to 'time out' even sooner. As a result, additional cancellations are likely to occur as we work to reset the operation."

The FAA announced the final details of the minimum rest period for pilots in December 2011 so JetBlue had 2 years to deal with suspected problems but, why do that when instead they can just blame the FAA.

This has been the brilliant ploy of Corporations for decades. Their fuck-ups and failures are actually the fault of Government! If only the Government allowed JetBlue to fly pilots with no sleep flight after flight after flight these planes would have magically taken off on time. Damn Government Regulations!!! 

And with Republicans constantly hammering their plans of Deregulation and Privatization it's only a matter of time before Republicans convene Congressional hearing to blame Obama for the Cold weather and apologize to JetBlue for interfering in their private business affairs.
