Happy Christmas MAGA (Iran War is Over) Republican political ideology; The Eternal Now

"The Strait of Hormuz is open for transit," Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said. “The only thing prohibiting transit in the straits right now is Iran shooting at shipping,” he said. “It is open for transit should Iran not do that.”

One of the things that has served Republicans very well in politics has been to treat the past and future as non-entities.  There exists only Eternal Now.

Happy premature Victory Declared (VD) Day
It's why for the past two weeks, various Republicans including Traitor trump have repeatedly declared the Iran War over.  Why not?  It gets them headlines and positive reaction from the markets and oil futures.  Just keep declaring victory and white people will say "we've" won, and when reality says differently it must have been those dastardly sexy trans-persons who cost our election by stabbing us in the back...

Republican realpolitik has focused on Eternal Now for decades now.  The Eternal Now means Republicans never have to worry about what they have said or did in the past.  It's about winning today, forgetting yesterday, and not worrying about tomorrow.

Tubberville will lose exactly ZERO votes
Republicans didn't care about ending Roe v. Wade, because they knew they'd suffer no political backlash because by the time the next election came along the voting public wouldn't remember, wouldn't care, or would be easily duped or deceived by the latest rightwing agitprop.  Additionally, Republicans never care about future consequences for their actions because they know they can simply blame the Democrats (this includes blaming Democrats past, present, and future).

So, whatever the near, middle, or distant future fallout from this ridiculous and unlawful War on Iran, Republicans know they can simply say it's Barack's and Biden's fault, or maybe AOC or Zohran Mandami's fault and their raving horde of white people will agree.

It's the reason Republicans attack non-stop, lie recklessly and with abandon, ignore scandals, deny the truth, and make-up easily disprovable claims.

Republicans know all they have to do is win the messaging war right now and the natural cycle of news will push whatever story into the background and be forgotten.  And this doesn't even include their compliant and complicit allies in the Corporate Media who frame everything in their favor, or the insane rightwing media complex which just invents absolute bullshit to defend and support the rightwing agenda.

Traitor trump, of course, has his own training from his tutelage under Roy Cohn of never apologizing and always declaring victory, so two days ago he held a rally in Hebron, Kentucky in which the syphilitic madman declared the war over and took credit for everything,

"Epic Fury. Is that a great name? Well, it's only good if you win. And we've won. Let me tell you, we've won. You never like to say too early you won. We won. We won the bet. In the first hour, it was over. We won. But they gave me a list of names in general, "Sir, you can pick the name you'd like, sir." I said, "The name of what?" "The name of the attack on Iran, sir." And they gave me like 20 names and I'm like falling asleep. I didn't like any of them. Then I see Epic Fury. I said, "I like that name. I like that name."

...

If we won that war, which we have basically done, if we won that war in one day, "He should have done it faster. It's unacceptable." And by the way, if I didn't go in, now they like to complain. It's hard for them to complain with that military. It's so incredible, but they like to complain. So let's assume I didn't go in. I was like every other president. Oh no, let them kill people. Let them get an atomic weapon. Let them get a nuclear weapon that can destroy the world.

You can read Traitor trump's comments in Kentucky, it's all his lies, all his greatest hits, all the grandiose claims, all the attacks on Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

White people absolutely love this shit.  White people love being lied to and this is what they voted for...  in fact, this is what white people have been voting for consistently for 50 years since the Southern Strategy of Nixon.
