Rapist Donold has always felt slighted he was looked down upon by the New York and American elite as a gauche nouveau riche clown and getting those people back now that he has power is one of his prime motivators.
But, it's always been a category error to believe Trump is any different than the Republican Party in his goals and ideas. Trump often acts as a bog-standard Reactionary troglodyte in wanting to smash culture, especially counter-culture, intelligentsia and the Arts.
Republicans hate the Arts for the same reason they hate Universities and Cities; the Arts are full of people who are creative, interesting, cosmopolitan, and unimpressed with Republicans lies and agitprop and unswayed by the NeoFascist society Republicans are creating.
WDCB, broadcasting out of the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois is a Jazz (and late night Blues) station which has been going strong for over 40 years,
Forty years ago, a small radio station in west suburbia began broadcasting a motley mix of classical music, news and educational programs for a limited number of hours each day.
Today, WDCB-FM 90.9 stands as the leading jazz station in the Chicago area, having unflinchingly championed the music while bigger outlets — most notably, WBEZ-FM 91.5 — have abandoned it.
Well, their Federal Grant was just sliced by the BBB.
WDCB is losing a little less than $130,000 dollars in Federal Funding, just 8% of their overall budget and a fraction of what some of the other stations in Illinois and Missouri are losing.
My partner and I donate to WDCB because we listen almost every morning and leave the station on for our dogs to listen to whenever we're out of the house. Never forget Republicans hate the Arts; they don't produce anything of artistic merit, they don't pay artists for their work (Trump and his family of thieves always misappropriates musicians work for his Rallies but, using Artists work without their permission is a Republican tradition) and look at how the on-line fascist right is embracing AI produced schlock as the preferred aesthetic for the Modern Fash.
