Rape-publicans, Bathrooms, and Bigotry

Ever since their defeat in the 2003 Lawerance v. Texas decision, which removed the ability of the right-wing religious bigots from breaking into peoples homes to tormet, beat, and arrest people for consensual relationships in the privacy of their own home, right-wing bigots have been searching for an avenue of attack.

The conservative movement believes it has hit upon an unbeatable legal strategy with their current crop of Bathroom crotch sniffing and Christian Bigotry Bills. By couching their bigotry in phrase sincere religious beliefs and euphemistically used title Privacy ,conservatives believe their Pro-Discrimination anti-transgender Bills would easily be signed into Law in states run by Republican Legislatures and Governors and survive challenges in the Right-Wing dominated SCOTUS.

Of course, while conservatives dominate gerrymandered and voter-suppressed States they don't control social media or society at large any longer and the backlash against Conservative Bigotry has been swift.

There are no credible reports of a Transgender person accosting someone in a bathroom. The laws in Tennessee, Mississippi, and North Carolina do not reference incidents or police reports because they do not exist. In fact, it's much more likely, a Republican Congressman like Dennis Hastert or Mark Foley or a Conservative blowhard like Rush Limbaugh or Ted Nugent, will rape your child than a transperson.

But, look at the way conservatives frame their talking points, for instance Curt Schilling Facebook post which cost him his job at ESPN. It's Rape and/or fear of Rape.

While an element of gay panic and hatred of the other comprise a significant part of these laws, there is the deep dark desire of Rape underlining these Republican laws.

Conservatives and Republicans are seemingly always a hair's-breadth away from forcing themselves onto young girls. It's why Republican officials are always talking about Rape because Rape is always on their mind. Republicans can't stop talking about how they want to break into bathrooms and rape young women.

Rape-Rape-Rape. It's the first thought of Rape-publicans when they wake up in the morning and their last thought at night. Rape-Rape-Rape. Thus, because projection is their strongest belief, Republicans believe that must be the case with the LGBTQ community.

The New Centurions (1970) by Joseph Wambaugh pretty much encapsulates the conservative view on LGBTQ persons. Wambaugh's books exude a reactionary ethos, especially, when he writes about liberals and race relations but, when he writes about the LGBTQ community, which he does extensively in all his books, it's with fascinated revulsion bordering on the homicidal.
"Did you guys hear how many marines Hollywood vice busted last weekend?" asked Simeone...
"What's happening in Hollywood?" asked Gant
"What always happens?" Said Simeone. "The joint is lousy with faggots. I hear they got twenty marines in fruit pinches last weekend. They're going to notify the general at Camp Pendleton."
"That pisses me off," said Gant. "I was in the corps but things were different in those days. Even marines are different now." (Ibid. 177-178)
Wambaugh devotes an entire chapter of his belief that gay and lesbian people are akin to hardened criminals,
"You know The Cave?" Gant asked Roy.
"The fruit joint on Main?"
"Yeah, but it's not just fruits. There's lesbians, sadists, masochists, hypes, whores flim flammers, paddy hustlers, hugger muggers, ex-cons of all descriptions, and anybody else with a kink of some kind or other." (Ibid. 174)
And
"It's a beautiful place," said Roy.
"The park? Oh, yeah. But it's full of faggots and thieves and assholes in general. No decent people dare hang around here after dark." said Ranatti. (Ibid. 189)
Towards the end of the chapter the Vice squad and uniformed backup raid The Cave. Wambaugh's phrasing is perhaps revealing, "he watched the blue wedge of bodies insert itself into the opening of the Cave." And "the cathartic blue wedge of policemen withdrew from the mouth of The Cave". Emphasis mine. Perhaps Wambaugh is being cute and having a chuckle at his clever phrasing or perhaps...

The only character in The New Centurions who shows a scintilla of humanity or respect for Civil Rights is "Roy Fehler",
Roy was not completely certain that he would like to receive an eighteen-month assignment to vice because he respected the privacy of others. He believed that this undercover surveillance smacked of fascism and he believed that people, damn it, were trustworthy and there were very few bad ones despite what cynical policemen said.
But, Roy the Liberal gets told off by Wambaugh in blackface and gets shot on two occassions, the last fatally to close the book.

But, foruntaely times have changed so much so that in the Cop Series Southland (2009-2013), which used portions of Wambaugh's books as source material, one of the main characters "John Cooper" is homosexual. The series does treat the character's sexual orientation as an intergral issue often leading to tension between partners and civilians on the street.

While, I could go further into Wambaugh and Reactionary Police Officers, that's a subset of this issue, and the Officers of Wambaugh's day are 2 or 3 generations removed from working the job.

What we are looking at with the Sincere Religious Belief Laws and Patriotic Bathroom Privacy Acts are hopefully the last gaps of the bigoted hateful right-wing. But, I don't believe so.

One would think small-government loving conservatives would be wary about ensconcing such far-reaching invasive laws into the hands of Government Officials, one would think that Libertarians, those haters of Government intrusiveness and the State, would be taking to the ramparts to decry such an expansion of the corrosive powers of the State, but libertarians have this odd way of justifying the use of force by the government against those they don't deem worthy of legal protection.

What these laws are designed to do is to feed the hatred which consumes the Right-Wing and to put fear into the LGBTQ community. To let them know that anyday, someone can complain about them and they are only free at the whim of the bigoted conservative/libertarian/right-wing community.

Gay Marriage the President evolves while Mitt Romney and the Republicans remain Troglodytes.

Exactly how long after I left did you let those liberal stirrings in you spill out all over the fucking floor?!? - Ray Liotta, Narc
President Obama ended the speculation and announced he is in favor of same sex marriage.
"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or Marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don't Ask Don't Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," President Obama declared.
This is a President who has been out in the front, leading, on Civil Right's, on successful military operations, on Taxes, and on ensuring that millions of Americans will not be driven destitute or denied medical care by the Vicious Republican punk ass bitches who service only 1% of the Nation and seek to oppress, control and enslave 99% of the Nation.

Mitt Romney, forced to respond because he's a follower not a leader, pounded his chest and proudly declared himself a bigot opposed to American's Civil Rights.

Romney, most likely, is against Same Sex Marriage because he likes to beat up and bully gay people. [See My Post: Ever wondered what happened to that High School Bully? Well, he turned into Mitt Romney.]

Unbelieavbly, the log cabin Republican Faction issued an angry denunciation of... President Obama. Again, affirming that for Republicans it is Party over Country and Politics over People each and every time.

Conservative are against Same Sex Marriage because they are Oppressors. Changes to societal norms will undue part of their power, and right-wingers can only maintain power and control by behaving like Totalitarians.

Despite all their high-falutin' rhetoric Conservatives, have no trouble allowing governments to oppress people. They just choose a level of Government wherein they can exert more control.

Human Right's are not subject to popular vote. But, that is the Regressive Right-Wing's Totalitarian Ideal. Right-Wingers are champions of oppression.

Update
Jon Stewart again highlights and shames Right-Wingers over their duplicitous flip-flopping on Gay Marriage. Oh who am I kidding! Conservatives feel no shame in being Base Hypocrites!

Republican Steve King *officially* Gay Married to Marcus Bachmann in Secret Iowa Ceremony

Oh Darling! Why would someone as
Fabulous as me marry Crazy Eyes?
Hey you! Right-Wing Mormon and Christian Fascist! I am going to Gay Marry You against your will! The Homosexual Agenda needs to take a page from the Mormon Church and start gay marrying christian bigots and right-wing fascists in absentia. Seriously, official papers should be filed. Get your on-line ordination as a minister and start gay marring these Theocratic Republican bigots and posting their *official* gay marriage certificates on-line.

In a surprising development the "Stunning" Steve King gay married Marcus Bachmann in a secret but, fabulous ceremony. Bachmann, previously known as the fake husband of Michele Bachmann, met King during a tour of Iowa with his wife during her aborted run for President.

Bachmann famously known for saying gays were barbarians, admitted his earlier statment,
"We have to understand: barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn't mean that we are supposed to go down that road. That's what is called the sinful nature. We have a responsibility as parents and as authority figures not to encourage such thoughts and feelings from moving into the action steps..."
was merely a cover for his long-held homosexual feelings and that his marriage to Michele Bachmann was a sham.

The Mormon Church has zero authority so reading news stories that the Mormons are continuing their Crusade of baptizing dead people into their church doesn't offend me. But, it does offend others. From NPR;
Two decades of anger, apologies and agreements have failed to keep the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from ending posthumous Mormon baptisms of prominent Jews and holocaust victims.

In the latest incident, the parents of the late Simon Wiesenthal, a survivor of a Nazi death camp and an advocate for holocaust victims, were baptized in a Mormon ceremony. Posthumous baptisms are a critical part of the Mormon faith.
I would suggest we start gay marrying Mitt Romney's entire family since Mitt Romney has performed baptisms of the dead himself,
When Newsweek magazine asked Romney if he personally had performed posthumous baptisms on anyone, author Jonathan Darman wrote, "he looked slightly startled and answered, 'I have in my life, but I haven't recently.' The awareness of how odd this will sound to many Americans is what makes Romney hesitant to elaborate on the Mormon question."

The Gay Panic of Louie Gohmert

"And if anything, these kids are less innocent — these 16 and 17 year-old beasts…and I've seen what they're doing on YouTube and I've seen what they're doing all over the internet — oh yeah — The kids are egging the Congressman on! The kids are trying to get this out of him." ~ Matt Drudge defends Republican pervert Mark Foley because... well, because Foley is a Republican and IOKIYAR.
So holiday travel caused me to miss the Congress and President Obama succeeding with many legislative victories. The most interesting one was the end of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and the civil rights victory for homosexual women and men in gaining the freedom to serve openly in the military.

Of course, Republicans hate freedom and liberty and wish to force Americans back into the bigoted white, christian, heteronormative gulag the conservative movement longs to force down the throats of every American. So, while it's unsurprising that a mere 23 Republican Senators and Congressmen voted to end DADT, it's safe to say that 90% of Republicans are ignorant bigots who hate America.

A key Republican Champion for bigotry is Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas. Gohmert is most famous for his "Terror Babies" declaration, that America is being invaded by muslims who will have children here then leave, indoctrinate these children as terrorists and let them return (since they are American citizens) as sucidie bombers 20 years later. When pressed by Anderson Cooper who stated flatly, "the FBI says it's not happening" and asked Gohmert to provide the slightest shred of evidence for his cheap pulp fiction scare story, a blubbering Gohmert floundered, stammering "You going to keep me honest! It's happening! It's happening!" and became a mass of incomprehensible gibbering jelly, most Republicans are mounds of flabby pasty jelly sans courage.

Well, following the victory for freedom, Gohmert took to the House floor to recall a tale of gay panic which he suffered back in his military days. The story centered around a gay soldier who apparently made a pass at Gohmert no doubt after he caught Louie staring too long at him while in the showers or after Louie offered the soldier some extra wrestling practice.

Louie was of course super offended. How dare that muscly tight bodied hunk of a soldier tempt Louie Gohmert!

Now, here's the thing, to many conservatives this story sound like a terrible threat which is going to afflict our young men in the service. You see, conservatives don't have any first hand experience with the matter because conservatives are cowards and chicken hawks who don't serve in the military, so they'll have to get there stories second or third hand (but please don't make that a dirty thing).

I, as a Liberal, love America and served in the Marine Corps, so I know about barracks life. The Marines have the worst male-female ratio of all the services (19 to 1). The Army has the most female members of all the branches, so it's interesting that Louie always focused on the men while he was in, but I'm sure he only admired their tight bodies abstractly and nothing more.

Anyway, in the Corps, whenever a young lady transferred to my company and into the barracks her first night would be met by a number of male Marines knocking on her door to introduce themselves. This happened on numerous occasions and barracks fire watch often was tasked with stopping foot traffic to the female barracks area.

Of course, Louie wouldn't know anything about this as his Army time was spent praying to god to remove those mental images of sexy army boys parading their "overt homosexuality" past him.
