Rewording the Republican Class War on the American People

"Some would say that it's the Unions that have crippled the U.S. economy and led to the United States' debt..." - Gretchen Carlson, Faux News
Some would say it's time to declare War on Conservatives...

It is clear the Republicon Party has no interest in aiding the 99%. The Republicon Party serves two main constituents, themselves and the Richest 1% of the Nation. And to realize that goal they will do whatever it takes.

A conservative Think Tank, in this case the Heritage Foundation, puts forward a story that Poor People in America aren't really poor and viola, every conservative site re-posts the "findings" and now it's a fact that poor people are not poor and if you are it's your fault. Or as Newt Gingrich puts it;
“Really poor children, in really poor neighborhoods have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works so they have no habit of showing up on Monday. They have no habit of staying all day, they have no habit of I do this and you give me cash unless it is illegal.”
Not only is it your fault but you're probably a criminal anyway...

Scott Walker, the Republican Guard for the Koch Brothers, pushed through his anti-worker legislation and Wisconsinites rose up and demanded it not be adopted. Walker pushed through the 1% agenda anyway despite the protests. Now, having been denied their voice, Wisconsin has decided to recall him, so Walker has decided he doesn't care for the Bill of Rights either. Scott Walker has created policy that whenever a group of 4 or more people gather on the Capitol grounds they need to put in for a permit 72 hours in advance and pay in advance the cost for police presence (minimum $50/ hour) plus the clean-up costs afterwards. Free Speech isn't Free after all...

The Republicon Party is better called the Republican Guard because their job is to Guard the 1%. And the Republican Guard and their conservative henchmen will stop at nothing to harm America and defend their Moneyed Masters.

Rightwing shills are paid millions to flood the radio and cable channels with streams of bullshit to continue the Plutocracy's control. Mark Levin has nothing consturctive to offer and merely claims Harry Reid or Frank Lautenberg or whatever Democrat he wishes to attack is "suffering from dementia". And no it's not Medical Doctor Mark Levin or trained Pyschologist Mark Levin. Mark Levin is a a lawyer and like all the chicken shit conservatives infesting the US these days, after becoming a lawyer, Levin is a chicken hawk who went to work for the Reagan Presidency and has never held a real job.

But, while toxic conservative garbage like Mark Levin lay out the Right's anti-Democratic Party mantra it is up to the Frank Luntz to place the proper Orwellian Language into the mouths of Republicons to continue to fool conservative voters into supporting a political party of scoundrels, cheats, criminals and elitists wholly owned by the Richest 1% of this Nation

Frank Luntz admitted he is
“so scared of this anti-Wall Street effort. I’m frightened to death. They’re having an impact on what the American people think of capitalism.”
So, Luntz gets out and creates his Orwellian rewordings of the Republicon Guards policies. The 1% solution for the Middle Class; To Destroy the Middle Class and reduce the 99% to Servitude, Penury and Wage Slavery.

Frank Luntz advised them to move away from "capitalism" and say "Economic Freedom"! See, when you talk about trickle down economics don't say Piss Down Your Back and Tell You It's Raining say Rain Economic Freedom on the Middle Class.

But, don't say "Middle Class" call them "hardworking taxpayers."
“We can say we defend the ‘middle class’ and the public will say, I’m not sure about that. But defending ‘hardworking taxpayers’ and Republicans have the advantage.”
It's clear to Luntz that the American People know the Republicon Guard cares only for the 1%.

The 1%, the Establishment has always hated a thriving Middle Class because it upsets their power dynamics. For the first 100 to 150 years of the Nation's exsistence, the Plutocracy ruled and the wealth of the Nation flowed upwards into their hands. Now, thanks to help of their Republicon Guard the 1% have stolen so much and created the such an economic disaster for so many people that for the first time in decades We, the People have said enough. #Occupy and OWS have shifted the attention onto those who have engineered this Economic Inequality and Recession and the 1% don't like it.

Will enough lies, slander, smears, doublespeak and rewording of the on-going Classacre derail us?

Mitt Romney and the Republicans are equivalent to Saddam's Republican Guard

Democratic Illinois Senator Dick Durbin tried to pass an Amendment to S. 1867 the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2012. The Amendment was defeated 38-60. The Amendment was to stop the bill's proposal to declare the United States a battleground in the Phony GWoT. 43 Republicans voted against the Amendment. That is they voted to keep the language in the Bill which allows the US military to indefinitely detain suspected Al Qaeda members and anyone else the Government deems an "enemy combatant".

And here you thought the Bush/Cheney Torture/Extraordinary Rendition/With-Us-Or-Against-Us language would only apply to them damn Terrorists.

Welcome to the Republican Vision of Freedom. Too bad you didn't listen to the Leftists and Anti-War crowd when they raised the alarm about the most corrupt, most anti-American Administration and then choose to blame it on the black guy. The Republican Party is equivalent to Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard. Only 2 Republican Senators, Mark Kirk and Rand Paul, chose to stand for the US Constitution and Freedom.

What's next in the Republican Plan of Attack; a Bill entitled House-a-Soldier in Your Home to help offset the Budgetary costs of the DoD?

Because that's what Mitt Romney advocated in a speech less than a month ago. Romney declared he would eliminate Medicaid;
"And I would apply the $600 billion [in cuts] that were anticipated being imposed upon the military, I would take those and apply them to other parts of the federal budget. One of them, of course, would be to take something like Medicaid, which is our health care program for the poor, and return that program to the states."
Of course, now we can see why the Republicans are in favor of declaring the United States a war zone. After they steal Social Security, eliminate health care for the poor, stop funding Pell Grants, and impose Slavery Measures err... "Austerity" Measures on the American People they are going to need the military to quell the Domestic disturbances they are engendering.

Of course, even if the Republican Plan to use the US Military to quell Domestic disturbances falls through Blackwater (Xe) and Erik Prince have made it clear they will eliminate Democratic Opposition to the Republican Guard. Erik Prince, now hailing from parts unknown, let it be known he would "eliminate" Jan Schakowsky for her daring to question his Mercenary Army and the Billions Blackwater stole through no-bid contracts pushed through by the Bush/Cheney Presidency.

So, get used to America. The Plutocracy wants the Middle Class destroyed and the Republicans are the just like Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard ready, willing, and able to accomplish the mission.

#Occupy Protest in a Box

I'm the Dog who gets beat Man in the Box, Alice in Chains
As OWS and the #Occupy Movement continues and struggles to make it through the winter, several factors are going to determine if the energy of the Movement is blunted, re-directed or dissipated.

Currently, the reaction to the Police Brutality is at the forefront of many commentators. The influential feminist Naomi Wolf caused quite a stir with her article on the #Occupy crackdowns over at the Guardian. The article caused big traffic, but while to many it smelled false and smacked of hyperbole it's in line with much of Wolf's thought and dovetails succinctly with her 2004 book, The End of America: Letters of Warning to a Young Patriot. (As an update, it seems the reporter, Rick Ellis, who first mentioned the DHS Conspiracy is full of bullshit.)

Right-wingers continue their mission to destroy the #Occupy Movement. One of their major complaints is OWS and the #Occupy Movement should be working within the confines of the law. Now, of course, this is a disingenuous argument on multiple levels.

First, it's a logical fallacy which the Tea Party should specifically disagree with, since the genesis of their name comes from one of the most celebrated "illegal acts" in US History.

However, it also underscores the pure hypocritical phoniness of the ideological underpinnings of Modern Conservative Thought. Since, the election of Barack Obama a large strain of rightwing commentary has focused on "Natural Law" and the moral rightness of disobeying unjust or immoral laws. But, the Right is two-faced when it comes to such arguments for they apply them only when it suits their purposes, which usually is to undercut and delegitimize the elections of Democrats. But, also in service to the Plutocracy's goals of deregulation and privatization. Therefore, when a protest or movement is outside their keen or control the Right always reverts to calls for Authoritarian Tyranny and the destruction of those movements.

This is why the Tea Party faced no concentrated Police and Govenmental Oppression, the Tea Party always was a Top-Down false-front organization quickly subsumed by the 1% to advance the causes of the Rich. Any energy the movement had outside Plutocratic interests was redirected by Rightwing propaganda and limited to arguing over non-issues which would have no impact on the Establishment.

But, the Tea Party has already gone the way of their ideological forefathers, the Know-Nothings. OWS and the #Occupy Movement do not suffer from the TP defects because OWS is grassroots and made up of working and middle class people who are pointing out the underlying problems caused by the control the Richest 1% have on the Government and Society.

And by going outside the guidelines the Establishment has erected regarding political debate (i.e. issues which won't change the fundamentally unfair and corrupted system) they are facing a concerted rightwing media, lobbyist and law enforcement effort to shut them down.

So, making positive connections with the 99% is going to be paramount to keeping OWS vital and vibrant. Unfortunately, regular bloggers are being irked by some of the #OccupyMovements actions.

In a post from Feminisnt, she vents anger at an #OccupySeattle march which hampered her movements in town. Feminisnt points out the March hampered not only her movements but average everyday poor and working class people whom the 99% Movement is supposed to comprise. She also doubts any of the 1% were affected by the Seattle protest march.

I'm not posting this to pick on her, or issue the divisive You are with Us or Against Us, but merely to highlight the disconnect which the 1% have sewn amongst us to keep the 99% divided.

Libertas and Lattes has a bit more vitriol in his post about #Occupy telling the blog-o-sphere if,
"Any of these pale, rat bearded hygiene-free, Che shirt wearing knuckleheads keep me from getting to my place of employment, of home from said place....my fist might accidentally occupy the same space as their face."
I don't highlight these two bloggers, who I've read before to throw rhetorical jabs at them. But, merely to point out a few problems.

The #OccupyMovement is facing the problems all Movements do, after the initial glow has worn off how do you connect with people and weld them to your side? Protest Marches are good for reminding people your Movement is still around but as we all saw during the run-up to the Iraq War, they don't mean anything once the Powers That Be (PTB) have decided on a course of action.

#Occupy needs to bring more people over, and it's not going to be through media coverage but from positive interactions with everyday people as they make them aware of what the true causes for the Republican Recession, Rightwing generated Income Inequality and the stagnation and dissolution of the Middle Class.

Thus while the Controllers of the Tea Party played pin the blame on the Black Guy it didn't succeed in convincing any Americans, other than those who were already convinced that President Obama is a secret love child of Malcolm X and Karl Marx born in Kenya. While the 2010 elections went the way of the Republicans, Americans quickly learned zero help was forth coming to them.
"Don't blame Wall Street, don't blame the big banks," declared Herman Cain. "If you don't have a job and you are not rich, blame yourself!"
But the decades long propaganda effort by FreedomWorks, the American Enterprise Institute, the Heritage Fund, the Carlyle Group, Faux News has succeeded in creating a sizeable amount of useful idiots who blame Teachers, Unions, the "Welfare Queens" and the unemployed and ignore incidents such as when Former AIG CEO Maurice Greenberg sued the Federal Government for $25 Billion USC. Or that 0.1% - the richest one-thousandth - of American population reap over 50% of the income made on Capital Gains and the executive pay for CEOs has risen to more than 343 times that of the average worker at the company.

Because despite the scoffing at the 99% slogan from rightwingers, who were pre-programed to hate OWS, what they and the 99% need to know is:
1) There is a Club and 2) You are not in it.
Because the average amount the Richest 1% will save from the Bush/Obama Tax cuts ($66,384 USC) is greater than the average salary of the 99% ($58,506 USC).

The Best and Worst Case for National Health Care

is Dick Cheney. Without the access to U.S. Socialized and Communistic Medical care in place for flabby assed puffy faced bureaucrats involved in Government, Cheney would either have been uninsurable due to his repeated heart attacks or dead.

Worse still is that even though Cheney has turned his "hard work" in Government into a millionaires fortune he has not had to expend one dime of the ill gotten loot towards his medical care. It's covered by the tax payers labor. So the millions he's managed to earn through funneling billions of tax payers dollars to his confidantes and their corporations by using his position and influence is still in his bank account, so he may buy suits and plane tickets, in order to jet coast-to-coast defending his war crimes.

I decided to place my irreverent comment on another blog, that blog owner, as is his right decided to censor and delete my comment and responded in an email with the following:
Cheney is allowed to go to any physician, any hospital of his choosing, that my friend is not socialized medicine it is a gold plan that Obama plans to destroy, I promise not to publish your remarks so people will not know how ignorant about the subject you really are. I'd take the insurance offered to government employees possibly over the plan I'm in. J.C.
Note the "my friend" addition which as pointed out by a comrade from my Corps days is white people speak for I Want To Kill You.

I don't know J.C.'s mind or if the site was a fake personal blog and merely a Republican front for attacking Obama but I wonder if when he writes he'd take the insurance offered to government employees over his private plan he understands he's supporting Big Government Socialised Health Care. Although in his defense perhaps he means he'd take Bush and Republican undercut, underfunded and criminally neglected VA health coverage...

Tell that to the Marines

Contracts now seen as being rewritable...

Contracts are only honored during good times, put a little strain on the economy and the paper you have is only good enough for kindling...

Update 04/10:
As is my nature and due to my 36 mile sojourn on The AT I never got around to finishing my thoughts on this one.

However, just remember you are an individual and when it comes to agreements the old canard of getting it in writing probably won't mean squat with the unprecedented theft the Plutocracy is engaging in, in collusion with their paper shufflers in banking and government. They will make whatever laws are expedient to aid them in retaining control over you.

I Love Everyday People

One of the most transparent tactics used by McCain during the contest was to create an American Everyman, Joe the Plumber (JTP). A caricature of Average Joe Six-Pack America. The press then obliged the McCain Camp by attacking JTP allowing Malkin to beat her breast and wail about JTP Derangement Syndrome.

So it turns out, Mr. Wurtzelbacher received welfare when growing up. Dude, I understand sometimes people need a hand up or a handout but it seems especially hardhearted (or downright hypocritical) for JTP to now be decrying Obama for his eviiiiil Marxist plan of spreading the wealth.

Even though I am a Minarchist I recognize if given their druthers large corporate bodies would probably use up workers (or conceal safety reports about Coal Mines, even in 2008) as they did in the 19th century, discarding coal miners after they got injured in a mine collapse or cutting ties with railroad conductors after their arms were ripped off in train related accidents.

Consequently, I am not in favor of tossing people out of their homes and onto the street and applaud the decision of the Cook County Sheriff in October of stopping foreclosure evictions or denying those in dire need of handouts/aid/training akin to welfare, which Mr. Wurtzelbacher hates. Man it's hard to be conflicted about political beliefs, if only I had the fervent convictions of that Most American Male Sean Hannity, that Liberals are evil traitors.

I love to read Dailykos and FreeRepublic

because when someone breaks with political orthodoxy they are subjected to the Shame Circle.

This is what it must have been like to be a member of a religious community over the last 2000 years. If you dare flex your brain, think and possibly disagree with the entrenched power and accepted dogma the group surrounds you and ridicules you. No wonder it's taking so long for man to break free of the shackles of religion and enhanced tribalism (a.k.a. nationalism).

Donald Trump says Bush is bad and should have been impeached. And even though Trump endorses McCain, the supermericans at FreeRepublic must punish him for his heretical views on Our Glorious Bush who singlehanded defeated Terrorism forever! Trump must be brought back into the fold on W. He must be insulted personally, he must be insulted on physical appearance.

Christopher Hitches, a pro-Iraq War, decided anti-islamic to the extreme gentleman who champions reason and hates religion dares to point out Sarah Tall and Palin has no clothes and is roundly chastised. He is a drunk! We hate him! Boo!

Laura Ingraham one of the ideological descendants of Phyllis Schlafly declares "She can't believe" Hitchens would break from the Orthodoxy and vote for Obama!

This isn't a right or left thing it's a power and conformity issue. Both sides know they have listened to the true prophets and the other side has listened to false ones. One doesn't dare differ.

However, I guess it's comforting No Congressman has declared there should be trials for those who dare to stand up. I mean it's not like those people who hold different views are Anti-American or something....

While You Were Sleeping

we can live beside the ocean
linger far behind
swim out past the breaker
watch the world die
~ Everclear, Santa Monica*

Do you think the 700,000,000,000PLUS is not going to be given to Paulson? Because no matter how much the people are against it, it's going to be passed by Congress because Congress, other high members of Government and Captains of Industry are involved in Class Warfare against You. They are tied to the Upper Ruling Class which dominates and controls the nation.

Average American Warren Buffett explains why he invested 5,000,000,000 to Goldman Sachs, "If I didn't think the government was going to act, I would not be doing anything this week. I might be trying to undo things this week. I am, to some extent, betting on the fact that the government will do the rational thing here and act promptly. It would be a mistake to be buying anything now if the government was going to walk away from the Paulson proposal."

So the news stories at first will highlight the steely resolve of Congress. And there will be some "heated" C-Span moments with accusations, prepared speeches, wild gesticulations designed to invoke the reverental feeling of awe in you for your Representative or Senator, but it's all a facade. It won't matter how many letters, phone calls and emails Congress receives. After a few weeks (maybe a couple months) of this charade, everyone will get on board and allow The Ruling Class to set up to the podium and declare, We are passing the Rescue Plan which will also help you the little people. And there shall be much rejoicing!

But if, for some reason, the people don't accept their god appointed place as footstools for their economic and social betters, The Ruling Class will whip up some other non-issue or a New War to divert your attention and pass through whatever tax steal they wish, while you were sleeping.

*- Absolute Dick 13Stoploss pointed out my song reference was incorrect. Thanks for being such a Dick dude! So much for the afterglow...

Look In My Eyes

What do you see?
The Cult of Personality

I sell the things you need to be
Im the smiling face on your t.v.
Im the Cult of Personality
I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three
Im the Cult of Personality
~Living Colour

With the recent Cult followings which have arisen around Barack Obama and Sarah Palin, neurologist Robert Burton recently reiterated the well established findings published in his book "On Being Certain" which show once people have made up their minds they do not change them. Obama and Palin have invoked a visceral emotional stirring in their followers which has metastasized into full blown fanatical devotion demanding unrestrained political warfare to destroy the enemy.

No Quarter is to be given. Obama and Palin and their campaigns do nothing to stop this and actively encourage it. This is why elaborate, detailed speeches on their stances aren't given. That would nail them down and limit their appeal. By not telling the people what they believe or what their positions actually are, they allow the deluded people to graft upon them their hopes and dreams. And people convince themselves often times despite the spoken facts that their beloved savior holds those same beliefs themselves.

The certainty and unwillingness to change one's positions is not a new phenomenon and has been mentioned by Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, Betrand Russell and an apocryphal Zen Story.

The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.

Despite all the rhetoric of Change We Need and Maverick Reformers, whichever ticket of the Two parties wins they are going to be beholden to certain powerful groups which do not represent 99% of the People in this nation. And the new President and Vice President will use their position to further entrench the power in the hands of the Few. The question remains which deluded group do you belong to which thinks they are going to help you?

Update 09/25:
LT Nixon warns America of the Palin of the Corn.

The Apparatus of Government Controls You Utterly

The entire apparatus of government is a Rube Goldberg machine. It's huge, complex, cumbersome, slow, and designed for the simple task of controlling you. Of course perhaps that's an insult to Rube Goldberg. The goal is not just control but domination which you willingly accept or are not even conscious of... It's hard to cut the strings if you don't realize you're a marionette.

Now, it may be man requires a form of government for arbitration, defense and peace keeping but a there is no way a monstrosity 1000 miles away (from the Chicagoland area that is) can respond quickly or effectively to your needs or problems, just ask the residents of New Orleans, the aftermath of which showed the limitations and downright incompetence of even State Government.

But, even after spectacular failures such as Katrina and the Imperial decrees of little more the 500 Masters of DC to invade and overthrow foreign rulers (whom they no longer like) Americans still acquiesce and defend the Apparatus.

Even when the rulers, such as Phil Graham, safely ensconced in their insular world of Government=Lobbyist, tell the plebeians to Just rub some dirt on it and quit whining about gas or home foreclosures and the recession in your little minds, Americans acquiesce to their Masters.

And why? Because we the people are taught that to be against the Apparatus is evil and wrong in and of itself. We are taught to revere the Apparatus itself. We the People are taught throughout life to place ourselves in the box and ignore or destroy anyone who tries to get out of the box.

This begins early in life with an education system imported during the Golden Era of Prussian Militantism.

It continues when the Apparatus creates an unending string of little bans upon your life designed to turn everyone in the State into a criminal and to captialize upon the natural instincts possessed by every human other than sociopaths or psychopaths.

The State then ensures resistance to the enforcement bears a double edge. The Apparatus of Government outlaws resistance to force and when it chooses to exercise it's power it sends not the masters but pawns. Any rational human bears in mind if he resists he is not striking out against the Machine in some Matrix inspired fight for freedom, but fighting with an agent of the State who is most likely caught up in the same net and held under the sway of the Machine as well.

And the Apparatus continues by encouraging people to believe they can work within the system for slow and systematic change. Society can't handle rapid changes is usually the bromide dispensed to those working for change. By the time any real change has been adopted those who worked for it are long dead and buried. See Haymarket Square.

Working gradually within the system is, as Tolstoy reasoned, a self-delusion which benefits the Apparatus.
It is ineffectual and irrational because Government... knows very well what is really dangerous to it. and will never let people who submit to it and act under its guidance do anything that will undermine its authority. And therefore, as both reason and experience clearly show, such an illusory, gradual conquest of rights is a self-deception which suits the government admirably, and which it, therefore, is even ready to encourage.

Never Talk to the Police

- Professor James Duane of Regent Law School in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

- Officer George Bruch of the Virginia Beach Police

Flex Your Rights...

Update:
To be clear on my perspective. I agree with Professor Duane that if you are under investigation by the Police EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS.

But, let's not kid ourselves. The proponents of the Stop Snitchin' Movement are not Peaceful, Freedom Loving Anarcho-Libertarians seeking the end of the coercive abuse of power by Agents of the Nation-State. No they are criminals, (Thieves, Dug Dealers, Murderers) who manipulate their victims into believing both their interests are aligned or outright threaten people into silence.

Scott McClellan

Boy, Old Scotty sure hit a nerve. And of course, the attacks on Scott McClellan must now begin. How dare he be so disloyal as to state "the Iraq War was not necessary" and Busch relied on "propaganda" to sell the war. As everyone knows absolute loyalty is all president Cult of Personality Busch requires.

Karl Rove proclaims McClellan sounds like a "left wing blogger".

And the Heroes at Free Republic consider it their duty to kill McClellan for his traitorous deeds!

Dana Perino, who claimed the job in the hopes her speeches would not be analyzed because the male reporters would not have enough blood in their brains to comprehend her ignorant innanities stated, "Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. We are puzzled. It is sad. This is not the Scott we knew."

Lost in their vitriol is the truth Busch is a liar who used propaganda and was aided in his efforts by the Media to lead the nation into a disastrous war in Iraq for control of the region and for the transfer of American wealth into the hands of the those who profit off of death and destruction.

Cindy McCain is Better than You.

Quit fucking questioning your betters!

If Cindy wishes to invest in Sudan, so be it! If she deems she will sell those Sudanese investments for more money than you shall ever earn in your working lifetime. That is her right, per her position as a better than you!

If Cindy wishes to keep her tax returns out of the public light so poor ignorant Americans vote for McCain thinking his interests are in line with theirs. Well... that's not exactly lying. After all, as the Right points out it's completely a Privacy issue. And Right Wingers would never mount a partisan attack on the spouse of a political enemy!

"Let the masses Drink Beer", they need not worry themselves with the finances of their rulers, err... representatives.

At least we can rest easy knowing the equivocating Patriots at Free Republic will defend Cindy McCain's millions and war profiteering investments, while lambasting Teresa Heinz-Kerry at the same time. Pure Genius!

Contract Dichotomy

I've already written about this issue but the Bears (from Chicago) Linebacker Brian Urlacher is demanding a reworked contract.

His current contract has 4 years left on it. 4 years. I think everyone who's served understands the gravity of 4 years...

Urlacher signed the 9 year deal for 57 million in 2003. Now the reason you sign a long term deal in most sports is for the security and for the big upfront guaranteed signing bonus. Urlacher is threatening to retire in order to keep his signing bonus. Additionally, Urlacher has neck and back injuries. His career could be shortened so he's trying for more money.

I have no problem with people attempting to get as much money as possible. But doesn't this situation highlight the disconnect American Society has with reality and Iraq? The dichotomy between a football player, who's major problem* is he has the terrible duty of working on Sundays versus those lazy Marines and Soldiers who only have to face the risk of getting their legs blown off?

Either contracts matter or they don't. Personally, I'd like to see Urlacher get more money because I naturally come down on the side of the individual but I know the government will not afford the same latitude in missing movements or threats of "retirement" from the service members prior to obligating their contract, because I think the government labels that person a criminal.

*-I'm ignoring the fact Urlacher once had dalliance with Paris Hilton.

More on the You Signed the Contract

In my previous post I mentioned another USMC acronym; U Signed the Mothefing Contract.

Well, back in 2002 I still had over 3 years to go on my active duty portion of my "contract" with the United States government. A realization overcame me when as I watched ESPN. Michael Strahan, of the Football Giants, was angry over his contract negotiations. Strahan declared he would holdout and was very critical of the proposed 56 million offered by the Giants because of the structure of the deal.

Now, I'm not criticizing Mr. Strahan for going for the most money he could but what stuck in my mind was how much attention was paid to the issue and how much sports people we willing to back Strahan if he decided to hold-out and not honor the final year of his contract in order to be cut loose and sign for millions with another team.

I used to joke, while I was in Iraq, I was going to demand the Corps trade me to the Air Force if they didn't renegiotate my contract. I pointed to the accomplishments of my previous "season" in 2003. I shot Expert on the rifle range, performed a 1st class PFT, and I earned a NAVCOM in Afghanistan for my intel work filling a SSgt billet while I was a Cpl. Sadly, we all know my "demands" for a trade if acted upon or voiced to the media would have resulted in brig time and the labeling of traitor from the likes of Uber-patriot Melanie Morgan. Listen to Melanie here declare all antiwar types fall under one big umbrella of traitor. (Originally from Spocko's Brain)

Why do the American people allow such latitude with sports heroes in ignoring their signed contracts (in every sport) eventhough they are being paid millions? While US service members are held to some Shylockian, Iron-clad, stamped into the very fabric of the universe law of THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN SIGNED?

I think it's very clear. The federal government is a crime cartel. Individuals are afraid because the government grants itself the power to imprison or kill enemies or it's own people. But, the government is an abstract comprised of individuals. The another issue is people who work for the establishment, the state don't consider themselves responsible. After all they're just a small cog in the machine. They don't personalize the evils which befall other members of the state, especially service members. No one who works for the state sees themselves as the enforcer as the Sammy the Bull Gravano.

And after all they volunteered.

President Ron Paul

Ron Paul is going to win the Presidency. The question is whether the Gatekeepers of Society (Members of the Media, Corporate Interests, The Supreme Court, Controllers of the Voting System) will attempt to steal the election from Ron Paul.

You see it is not in the interests of the Establishment to have someone who would reduce the scope and power of the State by minimizing overseas forays, respecting the rule of law and adhering to the Constitution.

So the only thing, We the People can do is to overwhelm the system so as to not allow them to place another ignorant puppet in power. Support for President Paul by the People is on the verge of being overwhelming even as the ideologically driven dead tree media forces it's views on society.

Vote for Ron Paul. Give America and the World a chance.

A Closer Look at the Ron Paul Revolution.

Update (12/20):
A white supremacist, Don Black gave Ron Paul $500. Paul is not giving the money back. A Paul spokesman stated, "And that's $500 less that this guy has to do whatever it is that he does."

Some of the back and forthers at Wonkette apparently believe this to be the greatest political scandal E-V-A-R. I wonder if they have the morals to decline their tax refunds, paychecks, social security check, or pell grant money.
