Senator Mark Kirk please recover from your terrible Stroke so you can be kicked out of the Senate for Ethics Violations

Senator Mark Kirk snagged the former US Senate seat of President Obama back in 2010. Republicans placed a high value target on the seat because... well, probably because it fueled their deluded, self-absorbed, narcissistic attitude that America really doesn't love President Obama.

Senator Kirk suffered a massive debilitating stroke several months ago. Unfortunately, his recovery appears to be going poorly as Seantor Kirk, who is also a Commander in the US Navy, had to cancel his appearance at an Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade. In fact, Kirk has made no public appearances in the 4 months since his stroke.

While I wish Senator Kirk a return to good health and a full life afterwards he needs to leave the Senate.

Kirk suffered serious damage to his brain, is going to have long-term impairments and, of course, recent news has emerged that Senator Mark Kirk engaged in possible criminal behavior while running for office in 2010.

Senator Kirk used his campaign to funnel money to his then girlfriend, Dodie McCracken.

The girlfriend, Dodie McCracken, who works in public relations, has acknowledged receiving more than $143,000 in fees and expenses for her campaign work. A former live-in girlfriend, she is no longer romantically involved with Kirk, according to a campaign aide.

At the heart of the matter is Vertolli's assertion that the Kirk campaign may have improperly hidden money to McCracken by paying her through another company working for the campaign. Because the money was not paid directly to McCracken, her name does not appear in Kirk's federal disclosures.

Kirk knew he was proceeding along an unethical and probably criminal path when he decided to use a shell company to pay his girlfriend.

Is R. Limpballs going to call McCracken a name? Is this going to be mentioned by any of the right-wing media? Of course, not.

Besides the up-coming Ethics charges for his campaign violations Kirk's medical issues clearly indicate he needs to be removed from the Senate if he will not do the honorable thing and step down.

But, Mark Kirk is a Republican. Thus, while he has repeatedly lied about his military service, Senator Kirk claimed to have "misremembered [sic] it wrong", [See My Post: War Records], the bet here is Kirk will not step down and will rally the hypocritical conservative base to defend him even though he has engaged in multiple behaviors which right-wingers claim to abhor.

IOKIYAR isn't an acronym for nothing...

Sex and Violence

Recently, while preparing for a gaming session I entered into a discussion centered on the weight of Jessica Simpson and it's portrayal in the media. C, my friend's wife, was very upset that US Weekly was critical of Simpson and highlighted how gross she looked at 130lbs. C felt this was a terrible message to be sending to the woman of america. I, being the asshole I am, stated Simpson did in fact look terrible in these recent pictures, but not because of her huge veiny boobs, but mainly because of her outfit which was unflattering. However, there is no way Simpson is 130 in those pics, she's probably 150.

Anyway, I do agree, women are held to an impossible standard of beauty by the images we are bombarded with every day. However, it's a stain on our culture which also infects men. For a very wide ranging and myriad amount of issues in society construe to bombard us with sexuality and violence. With the re-ascendancy of brutal gladiatorial fighting in the form of MMA, Men are expected to be one-half Tony Jaa, one-half Allen Standford.

Men are subject to the pressures of measuring up in society through the acquisition of possessions which herald them as "successful". Once you reach "successful" status you then earn access to the sex. Look at the Skyy Vodka image, don't focus on the huge raging erection, the man is obviously a chic successful businessman with his fashionable suit. And having thus made money, perhaps during a run on the New York Stock Exchange, he now may exert his power and dominance over women and gain access to her sex, which is, obviously, all women have to offer due to her supplicant pose highlighting her enormous breasts.

Of course, the idea that men need to be rich and successful in order to be worth receiving the precious gift from a woman is peddled to us through the opposite end of the looking glass as well.

For instance, an article from November, when it became clear to everyone we are in a depression and have been for a while was titled Desperately Seeking Sugar Daddies. The article is peppered with these lovely vignettes:

Meanwhile, we are also treated to stories of beautiful women who turn their bodies into financial success. Salma Mega-Tits Hayek got married. The key is whom she got married to, Billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault.

Queen of the Harpies, Ran and I continued this discussion in which Queenie told me that Psychology majors go into advertising if they don't turn to academia. I'd recommend everyone take a Psych 101 course so they could at least recognize when their R-Complex is being stimulated, because the key to being free is to realize one is in a cage.*

*- Of course, Republicans don't want you to take such courses, it renders their jedi mind tricks useless.

I won't equate the Jonestown tragedy with all religions but if one places no or little value on This Life while praying for the Final Judgement which will reward(?) them in the next one, you're worshiping at the altar of death.

I think the stultification of religious thought in dominating mankind has lead to a violent reaction from those who hate. Right now powerful segments in islamic thinking are focused on killing and death. Fortunately, I think christianity has finally passed through it's last trials of death and pain in the 16th and 17th century and is no longer a death cult. But, some members clearly don't care about mankind. For instance if your believe the world isn't worth saving like god's chosen congresswoman Uber-American Michelle Bachmann who pointed out jesus saved it 2000 years ago. Or the mere fact you are born means you deserve death;

We have all rejected God (although some have repented of that and accepted Him), so we all deserve the death sentence. Even Noah and his family. But God chose to not give Noah and his family what they deserved (choosing them because Noah was, humanly speaking, "righteous"), and didn't impose the deserved death penalty on Noah and his family. He even had Noah preach to the people, in order to save them from their destruction, but to no avail. So instead of (implicitly) criticising God for giving the people what they deserved, we should be thanking Him for saving the ones willing to be saved. Philip J. Those who would hold to such a statement are indeed a worshipper of death. Why waste money on things like fruit fly research in Paris, France? When all you have to do to remove suffering from the world is believe? Research into the causes of disease becomes rather pointless if you think adam's sin is the cause of death.

This world and this life are all we get. I've tried in a small way to make it better for my fellow man, following my own moral compass. I've tried to be a good son, brother, friend colleague and professional and I think that's all you can ask of someone.

I Love Everyday People

One of the most transparent tactics used by McCain during the contest was to create an American Everyman, Joe the Plumber (JTP). A caricature of Average Joe Six-Pack America. The press then obliged the McCain Camp by attacking JTP allowing Malkin to beat her breast and wail about JTP Derangement Syndrome.

So it turns out, Mr. Wurtzelbacher received welfare when growing up. Dude, I understand sometimes people need a hand up or a handout but it seems especially hardhearted (or downright hypocritical) for JTP to now be decrying Obama for his eviiiiil Marxist plan of spreading the wealth.

Even though I am a Minarchist I recognize if given their druthers large corporate bodies would probably use up workers (or conceal safety reports about Coal Mines, even in 2008) as they did in the 19th century, discarding coal miners after they got injured in a mine collapse or cutting ties with railroad conductors after their arms were ripped off in train related accidents.

Consequently, I am not in favor of tossing people out of their homes and onto the street and applaud the decision of the Cook County Sheriff in October of stopping foreclosure evictions or denying those in dire need of handouts/aid/training akin to welfare, which Mr. Wurtzelbacher hates. Man it's hard to be conflicted about political beliefs, if only I had the fervent convictions of that Most American Male Sean Hannity, that Liberals are evil traitors.

The old canard to keeping friends and having happy families is to never discuss politics or religion.

The reason present day United Stater Liberals and Conservatives have such vitriol for each other is as Hayek wrote;

This election cycle has raised up a messiah for each side. To never been questioned and to be defended with the most violent hate and rage. Amplified and exacerbated by the hounds...

Is there a difference between Our Choices this year? Maybe.

But, both candidates voted yea on the Bailout of rescue socialism for the powerful. Neither candidate plans on reducing the Imperial American Military presence across the globe. And trillions will still be funneled to the MIC. On a Macro scale there really is no difference. It's the latest battle in the War of the Roses. Your choice is which Feudal Lord do you wish to bow down to and pay homage.

However, it maybe on the micro picture a president Obama or a president McCain will mean different things for individual families. I for one dislike McCain's Capital Gains tax plan, his Warmonger status and Palin's endtimes religious zealotry.

Vote for whomever you feel like and be prepared to be cursed for your Heresy by the other side.
