The political Revolving Door (County, Wisconsin) seems to have let Nazis in

As goes Door County Wisconsin so goes the Nation...

The Washington Post has another article on Door County. This makes sense because Door County is one of those things White People Like.

Anyway in the article about the swingin' nature of Door County (the previous one on this exact same topic was in June) has voted the last 6 elections for the Presidential winner.  But, like most Americans this 2024 election fells like a slog and they are just tired of politics.

Well... Voting for Republicans has consequences

While the people who live on the "Quiet" Side or the Party Side of the Peninsula tend to be more liberal south of Sturgeon Bay is farmland.  And like most of the large expanses of Wisconsin farmland its' peoples have been infected with the rabid reactionary virus of Republican fascism.

Now, much of the electoral defeats in Wisconsin have come down to rightwing ratfvcking of elections and obscene gerrymandering providing Republicans with statewide victories even when they lose the over all vote totals overwhelmingly.  Wisconsin voters have continuously pushed back against Republicans, which has just made Republicans turn to more outrageous non-democratic means of holding onto political power.

Since April, Robin Vos, who considers Wisconsin a solid Republican state when you simply exclude the voters of Milwaukee and Madison, has been engaged in the time-honored rightwing tradition of looking for post hoc justifications for his pre-planned Impeachment of Justice Protasiewicz because voters made the wrong choice and Justice Protasiewicz is going to undo the outrageous gerrymandered district drawn by Vos, Fitzgerald, Scott Walker and all the other anti-democratic goons ruining Wisconsin.

And with so many anti-democratic forces working in the state, it's not surprising a group of Neo-Nazis "The Blood Tribe" would feel free to march in Madison, (yes I know it's Dane County not Door).

As to The Washington Post article which relates the weary tales of various retired people, tavern owners, and small business people who long for a time when politics wasn't so fractious, divisive, partisan, and all-encompassing. I can only imagine these people blissfully ignored everything Republicans did to divide the Nation after George W. Bush's spectacular failure on 09/11/2001 (You're either with us or with the terrorists), never heard Republicans shout "You Lie" at President Barack Obama, never had Faux News on in the background of their favorite Supper Club, and are unaware Traitor Trump proclaims he will use the Government to lock up numerous people into Concentration Camps.

Watching the "warped frustrated old man" Dick Cheney who is "more machine now than man, twisted and evil" frantically defending his warcrimes has been illuminating. Cheney is even so desperate he's pimping out his own daughter to equivocate on Torture.

Cheney's Torture message incorporates several avenues of attack: What was authorized wasn't Torture, but even if it was the Democrat Party knew about it too, however we only used the tougher methods on a select few and despite everything the methods protected America from future attacks.

Part of the Cheney defense strategy is if Torture hearings would threaten to bring down Pelosi and Reid (and other Democratic Party members) then the Dems and the NBC championed, Moveon.org backed, Soros Funded Liberal World Wide Conspiracy won't be willing or able to investigate the matter fully.

This is actually a fairly solid plan as the Democrats probably wont be willing to move forward unless they have built up enough of a wedge in people's minds that Pelosi and other Democratic members of congress were not given the full information or were actively kept in the dark about the depth and nature of the methods.

Another line of the Torture defense strategy comes when Liz Cheney opens her mouth and Dick's (words) come out. We only used the methods on select few. However, this part undercuts the idea that the methods used helped to protect America. When raids are done and insurgents rounded up it's very difficult to identify them. They don't have social security numbers, many don't know their birthday, there were no fingerprint databases so it's possible after a raid on a VBIED warehouse that some HVT was there and got picked up with the rest of the lower level chaff. He won't speak up and confess because he's hoping to be detained for a short period of time before being released.

Therefore it is only prudent that we must Torture every single prisoner of war. How will we know, know conclusively, one of those terrorists we captured did not just recently meet with UBL in Damascus after having planned the next 9-11 unless we water board him?

Underlying all the Torture talk is this message from Cheney: Attempt to bring me down for warcrimes and I will destroy America. It's the MAD gambit. The Republicans and their Toxic Allies will work ceaselessly to turn the regular Americans against one another, fragment society and cheer on another terrorist attack.

Happy Better Than Obama Birthday

Obama Is Worse Than You Know Who. This is evidenced by a Department of Homeland Security Assessment which found at risk individuals may be targeted by Right Wing Extremists hoping to use them in the same fashion Islamic radicals use hurt, bewildered and disenfranchised muslims as suicide bombers.

The reaction was predictable from the garbage spewing Obama is Worse Than group. Obama hates the Veterans! Obama is stifling Dissent! Obama has brought America to Hell! Michael Savage filed a lawsuit against Homeland Security claiming it: 'violates the civil liberties of veterans and targets Americans for their political beliefs'.

Lost in the shuffle are the actual men and women who have Seen the Elephant and being human are suffering for it. Couple that with the criminal negligence of the Bush Administration's bureaucratic mis-manglement and many of these young stalwarts are languishing in personal torment sadly culminating in the taking of their own lives.

But, The Veterans are not people in this debate. They, like The Troops, have morphed into interjections. An emotional phrase used to badger one's opponent into submission.

Tellingly, Jonah Goldberg and other Toxic Trash Talkers don't provide their partisan readers with evidence debunking the claims of the Assessment. Although they do stammer and repeatedly belabor the fact the report states;

The DHS/Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has no specific information that domestic rightwing* terrorists are currently planning acts of violence.

This is, of course, no concern to me because from 2001-2009 the Bush Administration often played the trump card that they had secret information too sensitive to release. And this report is Unclassified, so too bad Obama has secret intel about Right Wing Extremists which he can't release but which proves 100% that Right Wingers are evil and hate America.

And I could say provide recent examples of a Right Wing Extremist who wanted to assassinate Obama and/or Clinton who might like to use this Marine who apparently had bomb making material in his checked baggage at Boston's Logan International Airport.

During the last dreadful months of Tipsy Canoe's Reign of Terror, at the behest of the economic bastards who control him and his party, the American people experinced a smash-n-grab pilfering. As a last kick to the coccyx a scheme was concocted to push through the TARP and directly funnel Billions of dollars to the rich (My Base as Tipsy calls them) while Oil companies gouged people with super-inflated gas prices, reaching over $4.50 a gallon in the Chicago-land area in 2008, which to this day no one in the Bush regime has explained or seems to have any inclination of explaining.

The battle between the parties* is like the battle between two divorced parents over their kids. Each wants the kids to choose them over the other, each uses dirty tactics. Each wants to use the government to enrich themselves, their cronies and their masters. The Republicans, have, developed a very clever idea. Be completely irresponsible and when the bill comes due leave it to the Democrats. They want to be the "Cool Parent".

Over the last 8 years Bush, like all Republicans, ran the country into the ground using the Piss Down Your Back Reaganomics. The clean-up is now in the hands of Obama. And wouldn't you know it, before he even took office the Republican Hounds began barking and yelping at the uncool Democrats who want to raise taxes and be fiscally irresponsible. Will Obama's plan work? I don't know. But, the Republican party is a criminal Corporate Welfare Gang, they work tirelessly to Privatize Profits and Subsidize Losses. The Republicans know if they're honest about their Socialist plans to funnel Trillions of dollars to the Gang of Corporate Hacks, the people would rebel.

Global Warming

Global Warming, as the result of man's actions, is not proved Science. However, like so many issues, the environment has been captured by political partisans and turned into an all or nothing litmus tests. Either you are a sycophantic Al Gore butt kisser or you must allow coal plants to directly pump smoke from their plants into day care centers.

The recent push has been Clean Coal Campaign. I know there are several types of coal and each grade of coal has differing qualities, minute contents and burns differently. I also know the cause of Coal Workers' Pneumoconiosis (the infamous Black Lung Disease) isn't at all mysterious.

I think coal can be used but I'm conflicted because I know from reading and official statements many of those who fervently deny Global Warming also just as fervently deny Evolution and seem to be against any sort of regulation on air, water and ground pollution. And this leads to things of which I am not conflicted, say when British Petroleum successfully lobbies the State Government of Indiana to poison people by continuing to dump Mercury directly into Lake Michigan.

Mercury is toxic, people including Chicagoans drink water from Lake Michigan, people eat fish from the Lake. It is unacceptable for such direct poisoning of people to continue merely because a few grubby dollars have been thrust into the right hands.

Also, the quite ridiculous and now extinct Clean Coal Carolers didn't add anything constructive to the debate and fortunately superwoman Rachel Maddow corrected described what Frosty the Coal Lump really was:

What needs to be done is those wedded to the Right/Left divide need to expunge the fanatics and come together in attempt to dispassionately study the issue and come to some unbiased conclusions. Of course this will never happen and we'll be left with:

The Party Purge

Redstate has begun a party purge in order that their messiah, the Bright Once and Future Queen Palin may ascend to political godhead status. They call it Operation Leper. Additionally, Michelle Malkin has taken up the Palin banner and is accusing anyone who points out Palin is an ignorant woman of cowardly character assassination.

Earlier this year over and Democratic Underground the DU had a similar purge of hatred as the Obamabots and Hillirites fought each other for months and months over the nomination.

It's clear Party Idealogy is more important to most of these people than Individuals. Getting their power player into control of the vast Apparatus of Government is paramount. Because once that person is in power they can exert control over other Americans.

This is why I have little faith Obama will change anything. Under his regime the Plutocratic class will still control America and individuals will still be the property of the state.

To paraphrase Emma Goldman, If voting could change anything, it would be against the law.

President McCain

John McCain should have won the republican nomination in 2000. But, the Bush regime used the most low and untrue accusations to destroy his campaign and allow Bush to, eventually, steal the 2000 election.

I wonder if those who supported Bush in 2000 think McCain would have done a better job at guiding the Nation after 9/11. I do.

For one thing I know President McCain would not have explicitly endorsed Torture as Bush did. And McCain would not have ignored the pre-9/11 warnings as Bush did and stopped the terror attack. You see McCain having real military experience would understand war and threats to American in a way Bush never had and never will.

But, the Bush Campaign attacked Cindy McCain as a drug addict, alleged McCain had an illegitamite "mixed-race*" baby, questioned McCain's patriotism including floating the theory McCain was the Vietnam Manchurian Candidate. Bush also attacked McCain military record. Bush stood arm-in-arm with a man named J. Thomas Burch to claim McCain forgot and abandoned veterans after Vietnam. (Now of course, when the IAVA released it's Report Card on Veterans Issues and gave McCain a D, it was attacked as partisan politics). Bush also out-Christianed McCain.

Those attacks on McCain were despicable. Do the McCain supporters who voted Bush in absolve themselves and the Bush regime of their role in sliming and slandering McCain?

Of course, the thought of President Palin should scare everyone from voting for the female Bush.

You Gotta Catapult the Propaganda

That is the true quote for Palin. Of course, she took the money but why not lie. If you repeat the lie again and again eventually people will believe you.

And unlike the famous assertion a lie makes it halfway round the world before the truth gets out of bed, the problem of lies, lies in our big confused brains and the use of propaganda.

Those who like the Palin pick will not allow any kind of problems to confuse them. They know she is a righteous pick. Their minds are made up. So it doesn't matter how many times you point out the real record of the her accepting the monies earmarked for the bridge.

But the core issue here is the use of propaganda to confuse and control society. Humans have a sloppy memory system that is good at recall but not good at exact sources or rigid annotation. This is why as Carl Sagan elegantly pointed out in Cosmos,

2,500 years ago, there was a glorious awakening in Ionia... A new concept developed, one of the great ideas of the human species...

The Scientific Method. Which led to the great flowering of knowledge in Greece and to the creation of the modern world. Systematic thinking swept away superstitions, although some are reasserting themselves, and minimized human error and subjective and fallible human ideas.

But, then Obama is a muslim and Palin is God's choice...
