God Bless the U.S.A. was written by Lee Greenwood. It's his intellectual property. So it's fair he's mad that Stall Brook Elementary in Bellingham, Massachutes wanted to change the lyrics of the song to "We Love the U.S.A." for an April 12th assembly.
Greenwood made a statement, "Maybe the school should have asked the parents their thoughts before changing the lyrics to the song," Lee says. "They could have even asked the writer of the song, which I of course would have said you can't change the lyrics at all or any part of the song. The most important word in the whole piece of music is the word God, which is also in the title 'God Bless the USA.'
"We can't take God out of the song, we can't take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance, we can't take God off of the American currency," he continues. "Let us also remember, the phrase 'God Bless the USA' has a very important meaning for those in the military and their families, as well as new citizens coming to our country."
First off, beyond his jingoistic, schmaltzy, patronizing songs Lee Greenwood has no other intellectual property because he is riddled with a David Barton understanding of American History.
Barton, is famous for being the go-to-historian of conservatives when they want someone to make up a historical "fact" which coincides with a current position of the Right-Wingers. For instance, Barton proclaimed, "As far as the Founding Fathers were concerned, they’d already had the entire debate over creation and evolution, and you get Thomas Paine, who is the least religious Founding Father, saying you’ve got to teach Creation science in the classroom. Scientific method demands that!"
Yes! A full 70 years before the publication of On the Origin of Species and 40 years before Darwin sailed on the HMS Beagle, the Founders rejected evolution. Even the Lamarackian Evolutionary Theory wasn't published until 1809, the year Thomas Paine died and Charles Darwin was born. I could be charitable and say perhaps Barton wants to claim the Founders were knowledgable of the Taxonomical classifications of Carl Linnaeus, but, that's not what Barton means because David Barton is liar for christ.
As for Greenwood's statements about god and the currency and the Pledge, well, the blight of the Dominionist liars for christ strikes again.
Written in 1892, the original pledge is I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Hmmmm, looking for god in there... In fact, god wasn't added until 1954.
Paper Currency did not have In god We Trust, until 1957.
Greenwood is a classic Republican, he reimagines American history to fit his blinkered Right-Wing fantasies, he's been married 4 times, and while he talks tough and proud about the American military he dodged the service and Vietnam.
But, hey conservatism isn't concerned with truth but, with a continuously bizarre parade of performance art designed to rouse the limbic systems of the faithful.

Grand Dragon Glenn Beck Racist Demagogue and False Profit

As expected the False Profit Glenn Beck invoked god over and over to justify his inflammatory methods. Onward christian fascists! Take back American from the non-god chosen, the UnAmericans! And the attendees all know who that is... Mark Benjamin, an attendee from Salon counted 27 africian-Americans in the estimated crowd of 87,000.
Beck has called his Rally Restoring Honor and Reclaiming the Civil Rights Movement. And from whom does Beck need to take back the civil rights movement? And at what point does Glenn Beck feel America Lost Honor? Why from Martin Luther King Jr. when he spoke in Washington DC.
Glenn Beck is a vile racist. Glenn's fans and supporters are racist bigots and christian white fascists; the Conservative Tearrorists. Beck has spent everyday since President Obama was elected whipping up their 'white fear'. His whole show is predicated on playing on the racist ignorance of christian fascists. He invites the ignorant bigot Sarah Palin who tweets a racist should "reload" and continue calling black persons the n-word epithet. He wants his racist followers to take back America from black persons and minorities.
This is whom the 828 Rally is for... That is for whom Glenn Beck speaks...
But, Glenn's not responsible for his actions! A higher power is guiding Beck, god is personally working through Glenn Beck and ensuring the weather for his Rally will be clear and easy. Invoking god or claiming 'he' is speaking or working though you is prima facie evidence of dishonesty and ulterior motives.
Delusions of Grandeur doesn't even begin to describe this level of Megalomania...
That there are Americans, who after hearing someone claim that god is speaking to them, would weigh that claim as positive evidence for the truthfulness of the speaker is sad and disturbing.

Beck also found time to throw an additional I Stand With You Flag to his christian white fascists by blaming Charles Darwin for Adolf Hitler, the Nazis and the Holocaust. Admittedly, this is an old card, in the Creationist hand.
Beck's latest attacks on Charles Darwin are doubly ridiculous inasmuch as Beck is personally responsible for inciting Conservative Tearrosits to violence.

A Hot Shower
Taking a fairly long, marginally too hot shower is one of the few pleasures I indulge in, in this world. During my stay in Iraq taking an intermittent 2 minute long shower in Euphrates Poo Water was a continual low light in a thankfully uneventful deployment. Along with piss bottles and hairy chicken wings.
Now, I don't feel guilty about using so much water, although I did install a 1.5 gallon per minute shower head in my new home, but what my stint in the Corps and deployments to Kabul and Ramadi did instill in me was how fortunate I am to live in the early 21st century. I'm more privileged than 99% of mankind. I have an abundance of free time away from my work, I read, do physical exercise for it's own sake, travel and enjoy a "life of leisure". And this understanding of the good, long, healthy, full life most Western people now enjoy is exactly what those who run society and use you fall back upon as the under current of maintaining the status quo.
Herbert Spencer noted over 100 years ago the following,

Most of the evils and turmoils which have been ascribed to Obama were committed for years en masse by Bush, Cheney and their toadies; who cared more about stealing Trillions, breaking laws they found inconvenient, controlling all facets of government, expanding the American Imperial Empire and enriching their families, friends and cronies and the expense of the little people.
The Stimulus Bill expansion of government Obama's signed into law is less than what was spent in one year in Iraq under Tipsy Canoe and Cheney, too. So, the money isn't the issue. I discussed this with my friends the Queen of the Harpies and Ran. Ran theorized a refunding of the IRS leading to audits of those who've pilfered Billions over the last eight years could be behind the marching orders the Republicans in Congress have received.
But, even with the deluge from the Toxic Commentators, like Hannity, indulging in orgasmic displays of Hijacked America! and the studiously prepared American Exceptionalism firmly entrenched in their mind's eye it's hard to understand why Americans accepted the criminal largesse under Bush while seemingly wanting people to lose their homes.
I think I need a shower to wash the toxic filth away.

The Two Truths Theory
The Enemies of Reason have a certain blind look. ~The Duelists (1977) directed by Ridley Scott adapted from the short story by Joseph Conrad.
The 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin approaches and those who seek to roll back knowledge to the Dark Ages are busily at work trying to litigate mythology into the teaching of Biology, Geology, Anthropology, Paleontology, Astronomy, Medicine and Education. Namely, science is false because it disagrees with holy revelation.
But, I do have a memo from the 12th century to the Creationists out there: Science and Religion are not incompatible.
At least so say the Medieval Scholastics. Those men when faced with reality and the newly rediscovered works of the Ancient Greeks understood revelation could not account for the observable world and, in order to reconcile their myths with reality, crafted several philosophical edifices to buttress their beliefs.
The most famous was the attempt by Thomas Aquinas to reconcile the "truth" of revelation with empirical observable fact by using reason to prove the existence of god. However, Aquinas is disingenuous because what he was attempting to do was shoe horn Aristotle and evidence from the real world into the corset of Catholicism. He already knows the "truth". His appeals to reason are to reach an already revealed conclusion.
More impressive than Aquinas were the Averroists, after the muslim Ibn Rushd, who created the the Dual Truth Theory of Reason and revelation. There is one truth shown by the observable world and another through holy revelation and the human mind is not capable of merging the two, due to it's inherent limitations. Of course, the muslin fanatics had him condemned for placing reason on par with faith and as a result the engine of scientific advancement passed from islam unto the West.
And there in lies the interesting parallel. For the modern creationists are attempting to accomplish the same work the Berbers of the 13th century. Destroy the upstart philosophers and return the holy word to prominence.
If, Darwin, Wallace and those who've built modern science upon their theories, disagree with the bible? Then, the theories are incorrect and need be burned.

If you find yourself embroiled in a debate with a creationist, the title of this post is the salient and really only question to pose to them. Are the men and women involved in the wide ranging fields of science; including but not limited to biology, geology, astronomy, chemistry, and education; Dupes or Deceivers?
Are they merely ignorant or actively evil?

Eviloution is a Communist Plot
It is a plot to Destroy Americans' belief in God. And when you follow down the slope (which may or may not be slippery) to Destroy America.
A clear piece of evidence emerged when The Chinese Communists concocted this latest piece of eviloution propaganda:
Scientists in China finds major dinosaur site.
However, the commies were quite, quite sloppy and some tidbits, which reveal this to be a fraud, can be found in the Commie's lackey media outlet the BBC:
The researchers, from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, say they have unearthed 7600 dinosaur bones since March in Shandong province. Hmmm, since March you say? Obviously the Commies have been making fake bones, sticking them in the ground and uncovering them after aging them.
Detailed information on the fossil find is not expected to be published in scientific journals until later in 2009. And why? Because the clear falsity of the dinosaur plaster molds would be uncovered by William Demski or Denise O'Leary.
The scientists hope the find will help to explain why the creatures died out. Well, that can be explained very easily. World Wide Flood killed all the Behemoth(s) of the bible.
I can only hope as we delve into the Year of the Darwin (sounds strangely like the way the Chinese Communists use their calendar the year of this or that...) that Eviloution will be destroyed and children in all levels of schooling in America will be able to respond to every question with the ontological answer: God did It.
