Understanding the power of Patriarchy, Sarah Polley's Run Towards the Danger

"I do trust women enough to control when they allow a man to ejaculate inside of them and to control that intake of semen." Patriarchy Bootlicker Karianne Lisbonbee (Utah Republican ); Todd Akin's Legitimate Rape only applies to women who are killed by their attackers, these days to Rape-publicans there is no such thing as sexual assaults; if you're still alive then you encouraged and enjoyed it.

In Sarah Polley's autobiography, Run Towards the Danger she lays out the horrific sexual assault she suffered at age 16 at the hands of Jian Ghomeshi.

Sexual Assault is a hole in the criminal justice system.  I don't mean loophole but, the very nature of the criminal justice system (from beginning to end) puts the woman or women on trial because they are the only ones willing to talk therefore their claims are the ones put under, often brutal, examination.  Polley also talks about how she received a lot of advice not to come forward because women find themselves destroyed for coming forward.

Now, the right to not be compelled to speak or testify against oneself when accused is an important protection necessary to keep this Nation or any Democracy from sliding into authoritarianism.  Of course, it is a right which really doesn't matter for people in the lower economic conditions or minorities.  In their case, the Court system is designed and implemented to railroad them through as quickly as possible so other minorities or economically disadvantaged people can also be railroaded.  

The fact the same people who say you can not trust the government absolutely and totally accept every Police report of every extrajudicial killing of a black person, without fail, undermines their so-called distrust of authority.

The same people who wear Daddy rules for dating my daughter t-shirts or loved Brian Kemp pointing a shotgun at his daughter's boyfriend invariably and always say that bitch is lying when a man is accused of rape or faces several accusations.

The same people who say we need guns everywhere for self-defense say women are liars about most men being sexual predators and will always defend men charged with Rape or sexual abuse (provided they are the right sort of men like Roy Moore, child sex trafficker Matt Gaetz, or Donald Trump i.e. full-throated defenders of rightwing ideology).

The same people who declare the world is dangerous and full of wolves, sheep, and sheep dogs declare the rape of a 10 year old was 100% a leftist hoax and make those claims openly and defiantly on Faux News.

The same people who claim to want to defend the children absolutely adore Lauren Boebert even as she writes about her husband cornering a group of little girls and exposing his dick to them.  Lauren Boebert defended her dick flashing husband, in her book, by claiming the little girls where asking for it.

But, what Lauren Boebert is doing in her book is work feverishly to defend the Patriarchy.  White women like Boebert derive their power from the Patriarchy, just as her intellectual forebearers like Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Supreme Court Justice Ginni Thomas, stretching back to Phyllis Schlafly did.  Additionally, non-white men and women can be afforded the protective blanket of the Patriarchy as long as the tout Republican (i.e. white male) supremacy (think Dinesh Dsouza or Candace Owens).

These people, like Boebert, like any of the vicious Trump-loving white women spend all day, everyday adopting extreme anti-woke, anti-CRT, anti-Cancel Culture positions often in the face of direct evidence.  The only way I can reconcile all of this is the patriarchy.  The patriarchy is threatened by Wokeness, by CRT, by Cancel Culture, by liberated women.  And therefore the white women who occupy a special niche just below men, but well above everyone else, in the Patriarchy are threatened as well so what we are witnessing is their vicious Reaction to liberalism, freedom, and equality.  

MAGA and Trumpism is a clear manifestation of The White Male Patriarchy.  But, the patriarchy's roots go back to the founding of the Nation and experienced a revival in the early 20th century with the creationism of Fascism.  Even, white men not normally associated with ULTRA-MAGA beliefs benefit from the cocoon of privilege from the White Male Patriarchy.  Sarah Polley laid out the horrors of the  monstrous production of the 1988 Terry Gilliam film, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.  Polley talks extensively about being placed, as an 8 year old, in dangerous situations and having no one consistently looking out for her well-being.  Polley describes her lifetime fear of slamming car doors and is describing the aftereffects of trauma which often manifests as PTSD. Gilliam was 48 at the time coming off the "genius film" Brazil (1985) and Time Bandits (1982) and of course Monty Python, so he was afforded wide latitude even as the film spiraled out of control.  Years later Gilliam defended himself to Polley by claiming she seemed so mature for her age.  Gross, but also indicative of what every white male patriarch sees in his privileged world view.  A world which never asks him to temper his "genius" or limit his appetites or see the world through someone else's eyes.

But, if you speak out against the Patriarchy and Rightwing ideology well then you've abrogated your position and will be hounded and threatened (as Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger can attest) or steadily ridiculed, insulted, and reduced to secondary citizens (as Texas Log Cabin Republicans found out in June) because as the current rightwing aphorism goes, 'Get Woke Go Broke'.

Pro-Rape Republicans are at it again. 

Republican Congressman Trent Franks of Arizona learned us all about Republican Rape, "the incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy is very low."

Well, no doubt Trent. If it was a Legitimate Rape then the women would be dead. The fact she is alive is prima facie evidence that she enjoyed it and thus it wasn't rape. So why should she be able to get an abortion for something she wanted.

Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin, eager to follow the footsteps of Governor Bob McDonnell, is Pro Mandatory Rape Wand, "I don’t have any problem with an ultrasound. I think most people think ultrasounds are just fine." 

Sure thing, Scott! I mean it's only going to be jammed up the vaginas of women so it doesn't affect you! And if they don't want it done why you and your fellow Wisconsin Republicans can just ram through a State Law making the ramming of Rape Wands up in their vaginas mandatory for all women seeking a medical procedure.

All this flows from the belief that there is no worse crime than abortion. If one believes that, then it is necessary to reorganize your worldview to diminish other crimes or justify trauma done to women seeking an abortion because it's for the "greater good".

Now, Republican men think of women as little more than brood mares. Women like Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Marsha Blackburn and their ideological mother Phyllis Schlafly are given a thin slice of immense power and held up as paragons through which all other women should see those few women's power as their success in spite of their own personal situations.

But, Male babies! Ah they are what's important because of perpetuating the Patriarchy.

If they feel pleasure, why is it so hard to think that they could feel pain?” Republican Representative Michael Burgess of Texas cites the need to drastically curtail abortion because Male Fetuses jerk off.

It always comes back to which sex is important. Ergo, Males get to feel pleasure, Females get to feel pain. god Bless America!

The Full Romney (Ann wears the pants in the Family)

Ah, but here is where the Oppressive Misygonist Republicans reveal themselves. Mitt sends out Ann to talk to women, and she reports to him. As Amy Davidson reported in The New Yorker, Mitt said;

She says that she’s going across the country and talking with women, and what they’re talking about is the debt that we’re leaving the next generation and the failure of this economy to put people back to work. She says that she talks to women and they’re concerned about the jobs that their kids are going to get.

Last Tuesday on Fox News, Mitt was asked what he will do to reach out to women;

I’ve had the fun of being out with my wife the last several days on the campaign trail. And she points out that as she talks to women, they tell her that their number one concern is the economy.

Note that Ann can fill her specific role as supporter and go-between Mitt with women, to talk to them about Hearth and Home but that's it. And that's the subtle difference the Right is going to try to make between Ann and FLOTUS Michelle Obama. The Right is gearing up this performance to play to the bigoted stereotypes that feed their wretched voting base and this hearkening back to earlier days when America was great and blacks and women knew their place, is prime meat.

But, the Right-Wing is clever and what Mitt's advisors are doing is properly setting up Ann Romney to properly draw in female voters for him. But, remember we're never going to see The Full Romney because of the gross excesses and outlandish expenditures of the Harvard educated elitist out-of-touch Romney's would shock so many of the struggling conservative voting base as to cement an electoral landslide for Barack Obama.

So having sensed their policy of Shut up Women! Men are talking about Birth Control! and stung by marching up a panel of old repressed male virgins to rend their breasts about women having sex, the Right-Wing Patriarchs decided to send out Michele Bachmann to conduct damage control by declaring the Republican Party is "Extremely Pro-Woman".

Anytime, anyone declares themselves something, say "Fair & Balanced", it's almost a metaphysical certainty the person is entirely the opposite of their statement. It's like when a Republican He-Man, say Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu, declares himself 100% Heterosexual you just know that Rent-Boy receipt is about to be posted on the Internet.

Michele Bachmann is an ardent supporter of the Right-Wing Patriarchy because it has rewarded her with her position. Bachmann isn't the only women employed by the Patriarchy. Andrea Tantaros went on Faux News to tell all other women She and by extension They are "Not upset about this."

But, Bachmann's role, right now, is to be the first woman of the Right, she inherited the mantle after Palin's flameout. Bachmann as first woman is given extreme position and powers but over a very narrow field and in return she is expected to ensure that 150 million other American women do not rise above their position as second-class citizens. The Patriarchy has always employed a small sliver of women to help them maintain control and power.

But, when it comes to deingrating and keeping women subservient Teahaddist Republican Joe Walsh couldn't just sit on the sidelines. "It's not about women," He-Man Joe Walsh succiently summed up.

Joe Walsh can't help himself because his own personal history shows, like all Republicans, he hates Women. Walsh still owes his ex-wife $117,000 in back child support for their 3 children. Walsh also owes the people of his district his prompt resignation over Dereliction of Duty because he's not done anything for the struggling people of his district.



This isn't going away anytime soon. Because Republicans are running away from the Economy faster than they run away from Military Service.

Racist Limbaugh summed it up recently when he dedicated his President's Day show to declaring Republicans win when they run on Social Issues. So get used to misogynistic Rick Santorum and Right-Wing Propaganda machine to ramp up religion and control of women.

The Patriarchy gives a select few women extreme power in the party with the tacit understanding those women will work to undercut, dominate, and render docile and sevile all other women. That's what Liz Trotta is doing. She's put on Faux News to be the power woman enforcing the Patriarchy's Will.

So while Liz, Sarah Palin, and Michele Bachmann fight to remake women into second-class citizens, these modern day Phyliss Schlafly's, don't run the Party. White Old White Guys Do! Thus enter Darrell Issa.

Issa is famous for not being able to pin any of Bush's massive failures onto President Obama during his tenure as Chair of the House Investigations Committee. But, what he can do is convene Meetings of the Patriarchy to debate women's healthcare. Issa of course, brought religious authorities to his 9 Man panel and excluded any women from testifying at his Inquisition.

Because this was a council of Patriarchs determining women's healthcare. Everyone knows this is a Modern Witch Tribunal and just like in the 17th century, Old White Men are the Power of the Inquisition to determine if the Witch Slut has defamed religious freedom!

In Texas and Virginia (and now Iowa?) women must subject themselves to Republican Sponsored Rape, in the form of Trans-Vaginal Ultrasounds. Here's what it partially entails;

Ron Paul declared,

"If it’s an honest rape, that individual should go immediately to the emergency room, I would give them a shot of estrogen."

Honest Rape will, of course, be determined by the Patriarchy. Perhaps a special Witch Finder can be brought in to do the examination.

And just last year House Republicans decided a new amendment was need to Federal Law to change the definition of Rape. Rape would only really be Rape if it involves force. There was no definition of what constitutes "Forcible Rape" in Federal Law last year but we all know the Republican Patriarchy would determine what does and does not constitute Rape.

The Modern Conservative Movement cares not one whit for the 99% of Americans struggling through the Republican Recession. All they are interested in is exerting Totalitarian Control over the Nation, especially sexual control over Women. Right-Wingers are bringing back the Inquisition and the Witch Trials so they can exert dominance and control over Women's Sexuality and so Republicans can Rape Away. Because without Rape Republicans would not be able to Reproduce.

Conservatives celebrate rape and All your Ladyparts are belong to Us

The Republican War to control women gets more loathsome by the day. Despite all their rhetoric about the economy and jobs, the Republicans have been focusing on re-exerting control of Women and to that end are proposing and ramming through legislation with that goal in mind.

The US House of Representatives has 242 Republicans, 24 are women, the US Senate has 47 Republicans and 5 are women. So only 10% of the Republicans in Congress are women but, don't worry your pretty heads' ladies the Republican male dominated Congress knows what's best for you and every other woman in America.

You see Republican men know about Rape and know it's only Rape when it's forcible.

Christopher Smith was the Republican chosen to sponsor the forcible rape provision. What exactly constitutes force was never described and the Republicans faced opposition to their outrageous evil 'forcing' them to back down, Smith declared the forcible rape language would be removed. But, Republicans are slimy liars and when they passed the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Bill (HR 3) on May 9th, the bill achieved a similar goal as the redefinition of rape by using the power of the IRS, the threat of audits and byzantine Medicare rules to ensure women are punished for being raped and impoverished or incarcerated for having an abortion.

Because if you are raped Republicans and Conservatives believe it's the woman's fault. Faux News will immediately go on air to declare it's definitely your fault because you dared show your 'filthy lust-ridden body' in public without a burqa.

Rebecca St. James' and Sean Hannity had a gay old time blaming rape victims during his segment on "Slutwalks", when she stated women,

"are asking for sex. They’re asking for sex if they’re dressed immodestly.” And, “There has to be responsibility, though, for what a woman is wearing, personal responsibility.”

Conservatives and Republicans then love to have a token representative, whose power and position are tied to the Patriarchy, carry the banner of the Right's Repression and Dogmatic Misogynism as Kirsten Powers did in further blaming rape victims for being raped. I point Sean Hannity, Kirsten Powers and Rebecca St. James to the Illinois Complied Statutes:

But, Sean Hannity is a shameless hypocrite, just like his Republican Masters, who wails and tears at his breast to demonstrate his love of law but is more than willing to ignore laws when they don't conform to his sociopathic immorality.

In Texas, the Texas Legislature and Rick Perry declared they needed an emergency session to pass an invasive transvaginal sonogram bill, mandating all Doctors perform a sonogram before performing an abortion wait 24 hours then show the pictures and describe the image to the woman. So much for the GOP fear mongering about Government getting in-between Doctors and Patients.

There are many more restrictive laws in State Houses across the country and the Republicans defeated assault on Planned Parenthood, including John Kyl's ridiculous lie that 90% of Planned Parenthood's activities are abortion related*, are all designed to get women back under the control of the Patriarchy.

The Republican Party, the party of racist, homophobic, misogynist, religious zealots, is rushing forward to do as much damage to the American People as possible. And while they've focused on women, their classic target, the GOP have a stable full of federal and social bills designed to harm as many middle and working class Americans as possible. And it's for one simple reason; The Republican Party are the hired Assassins in service to their Moneyed Masters and the Plutocracy.

*- When questioned about his claim, Kyl's spokesman said it was "not intended to be a factual statement", i.e. a lie. John Kyl then had the Congressional Record altered so people wouldn't know he's a liar.
