The Sochi Games End and the Ukrainian War Game Begins

Now that Russian President Vladimir Putin has effectively annexed the Crimea and prepares to reclaim the Eastern Ukraine after the Russian Parliament Authorized the Use of Military Force, the right-wing crafted lie that Ronald Reagan defeated the Soviet Union and won World War III becomes more and more ludicrous.

On Saturday afternoon, 10 troop carriers, accompanied by armored jeeps, arrived at the Ukrainian coast guard base in the resort town of Balaklava and took up positions inside and outside the installation. 

Russian Orthodox priests stood among the troops and sang hymns. Large crowds gathered to wave Russian flags wherever the troops appeared.

The Crimea regional government, dominated by pro-Russia deputies, announced it would hold a referendum March 30 to decide among three choices: “to retain its current status as an autonomous republic within Ukraine, to become an independent state, or to become part of Russia.” according to the Russian news agencies.

There's been much speculation that pro-EU and very hard right Fascist factions which began protesting the Russia supporting former Government of the Ukraine of plotting a Coup d'Etat. If true, the plotters made a major miscalculation. From Edward Luttwak's, Coup d'Etat: A Practical Handbook, 

A coup is not worth attempting if a Great Power has significant military forces in the country concerned.

The Ukraine and Crimea have been soldily in the Russian Sphere of Influence since Peter the Great and have had a "Russian" influence going back 1200 years when the Kiev Rus sent Traders, Raiders and the Varangian Guard down the Black Sea to Byzantium.

The Acting Ukrainian Government is mobilizing forces, but the amount of Russian troops, Armor and Naval assets in and around the Crimea would make actual fighting an overwhelming Russian Victory while it's clear the people of Sevastopol and the region consider themselves to be Russian.

Of course, it's most likely that Putin will be able to pull this off and the Crimea will be become Russian territory and that's what is so attractive to the American Right.

This is, of course, because Conservatives love a strong-man dictator. They crave when a powerful man tells them what to do. Vladimir Putin, just like Dick Cheney, is going to exert his will upon the world and they swoon over him.

Over the last few months leading up to and during the Sochi Games we had the privilege of hearing conservatives gush about Putin's masculinity and his leadership skills, as evidenced by his bare-breasted horse riding, vicious anti-gay campaign and for having musicians who criticize him beaten and arrested.

It's why conservatives react so virulently against President Obama. They have cultivated an image of President Obama as an effete snob, a bike-riding, mom-jeans wearing, cerebral egg-head, a squish whose non-swagger invites the Putin's and Cheney's of the world to disrespect America. Oddly, they believe this while simultaneously ascribing to him the powers of a tyrannical, vicious Nation of Islam Black Panther Chicago-Style Politics Thug who terrorizes those who oppose him.

Russian Military Expert Sarah Palin declared the Russian annexation of Crimea and President Obama non-Bushian response a vindication of her 2008 observations that she could see Russia from her house.

"President Obama needs to do something." Senator Lindsey Graham said on CBS Sunday Morning. While Senator John McCain declared "We are all Ukrainians now."

So, what "something" would you recommend Senator? What do Senators McCain and Graham and conservatives want in response? Military Action?

Force Projection into Crimea is a simple matter for the Russians. Currently, the Crimea holds the Russian Black Sea fleet. Russia landed their military cargo planes at the behest of the regional government and now have enough forces and armour in and around Simferopol and Sevastopol to seize both cities and enough military power mobilizing on the border to seize the peninsula.

A military response by the U.S. is not only unwarranted it would be incredibly foolish. Unlike Senator Graham's experiences during the Patriotic Iraq War, the Russian Military can respond to US military action. Unlike, Iraq or Afghanistan, Russia has a trained, battle-hardened military with modern weaponry.

And while conservatives might be prepared to lose the 101st Airborne, the 10th Mountain and whatever MEU that gets sent to Crimea I am not. Nor do most Americans care to see American soldiers bombarded by thousands of "Katyusha" rockets from Russian mobile rocket arty while Russian paratroopers, marines and tanks encircle and obliterate them.

But, as with Iraq what Putin's invasion of the Crimea provides conservatives is another avenue of attack on the Homefront. Because that's the only "battleground" right-wingers ever set foot upon.

This invasion affords conservatives and Republicans the chance to engage in the only fighting they ever see; Political Gamesmanship. The Right-Wing Internet Fart Bubble bloggers who write about this don't know any more about real battle than they do about fornicating.

Whatever happens rest assured that Faux News and the Right-Wing Internet Fart Bubble will proclaim President Obama to blame.

Neoconservative chicken hawk Republicans are running their standard Blame Barack Campaign for the recent violence in Iraq.

Iraq was never about Peace, the Reverse-Domino-Theory, (basically that standing up a domino of Democracy in Iraq would magically stand up dominos of Democracy in other Middle East Nations) propagated by lead from the rear War Proponents was a thin veneer to cover their true goals which was a plan to steal Trillions of Dollars from the US taxpayers while also opening up Iraqs Oil Reserves for theft by Anglo-American Oil Conglomerates.

So, now what? Flabby-assed Republicans will try and run the 'Liberals are bad at war while Republicans are macho he-men'.

So, the Libyan Rebels have entered Triploi, taken over Mohamar Gaddafi's compound and are searching for Gaddafi, who is still at large. Clearly, his reign over Libya is at an end.

Well, I as a regular single American citizen was against any intervention into Libya, but Barack Obama is President and claimed the US aided NATO mission was necessary to first stop a general massacre of the Libyan people and then as a way to aid the Libyan peoples' efforts at ousting Gaddafi.

I don't have a Constitutional problem with the President's decision to use the US military because Congress long ago abrogated their power in that area. If Congress wants that power back they need to exert it, not wait. But, this current Republican led House has been trying furiously to figure out a way to cut funding for the Libya mission while maintaining their America Military=Freedom bona fides.

However, the successful operation has highlighted a long known fact about the Republican Party. They don't give a shit about Freedom, they don't give a shit about the military and veterans and they don't give a shit about fiscal responsibility.

Long ago the Republicans staked a claim to being the experts on military matters. This current crop of crap GOP leaders and their follow on protege's however, have little and in most cases, zero military experience. The Republicans learned during Vietnam that it was better to be Pro-War while staying as far away from the fighting as possible. So to that effort they created the homefront efforts, 101st Keyboard Commandos and Chicken Hawk Warmongers who rally round the flag, pound their chests and eschew military service.

But, the current Libyan question struck right at the heart of the Republican chicken hawk nonsense. If the GOP was in favor of Freedom and fiscal responsibility they would be ecstatic that a NATO-led coalition aided by American airpower but led on the ground by Libyan "rebels" is winning over Gaddafi. But they are not. In fact, the Republicans and conservatives see two options over Obama's Libyan Intervention; Threaten Impeachment or send out John McCain and Lindsey Graham to complain the 5-month operation took too long. So, much for the In what respect, Charlie? so-called Bush Freedom Agenda.

Given the choice between a 5 month, successful strategic mission, with ZERO American casualties or a bloated invasion based on lies and selective interpretation of intelligence, 8 years and counting occupation with an open ended commitment, enormous bases, a city-sized embassy compound, over 4000 dead soilders, 25,000 officially wounded in action, and 6 Trillion dollars of stolen taxpayer dollars, the conservatives choose the latter.

Anyone not teabagging themselves knew the Bush Doctrine was a veneer for the biggest theft of wealth ever accomplished in American history, as the Bush/Cheney Regime used the Iraq War to steal billions for themselves and their cronies and political masters.

Chicken Hawk Republicans 'Tip of the Spear' rhetoric

In The Talk section of the today's Chicago Tribune it was noted that Michele Bachmann said she was at "the tip of the spear" during the fight over the national health care overhaul. The writer also notes 'tip of the spear' rhetoric was used by Deadbeat Dad/Republican Joe Walsh as well and then questions How many tips of the spears are there?

Having spent time at Camp Red Spearpoint* in Iraq, I suppose I should be insulted by the constant rough and tough refrain which belches forth as a noxious blathering cloud from every Republican coward, but I'm not. I understand clearly why the GOP has embraced the military, I understand why Ronald Reagan and Michele Bachmann love John Wayne and John Wayne Gacy.

Republicans pretend to be brave and pretend to be soldiers because that sheen, that facade affords them the opportunity to use the military to advance their agenda of Oppression and Classacre.

Well, the answer goes back to the when the Republicon Party embraced their Insane Movement Conservatives during the Reagan Revolution. While the GOP has always had the violent militaristic factions it wasn't until the 1980's when the young College Republicans came under the sway of evil men, Ralph Reed, Grover Norquist and Jack Abramoff and they began to exert tremendous pressure upon the Republicons.

Conservatives have for years been more interested in fighting here than over there. And what were the fighting for? To insulate themselves into positions of power in the Federal Government from which they could wage their battle on the American people.

And much of this flows back to that icon of Republican Chicken Shit cowardice Ronald Reagan. Reagan was great at pretending to be a tough guy. So the College Republicans under Reagan embraced the langauge of war and the military. In the 1983 annual CR report Jack Abramoff wrote "Fighting the Left with a goal of victory" and "defund the enemy whenever possible. Note how today these are the same words used by Tea Party leaders like Judson Phillips, "I detest and despise everything the left stands for." And how Michele Bachmann stated the battle to eliminate ACORN was to "defund the left".

It has always been and always will be more important for conservatives to attack liberals than for them to worry about external threats, even when they, themselves have ramped up fear about external threats.

Vice President Dick Cheney used an attempted terrorist incident aboard a plane flying from the Netherlands to the US to attack President Obama,

"Why doesn't he want to admit we're at war? It doesn't fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn't fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency—social transformation—the restructuring of American society."[emphasis added]

Convicted Criminal Tom Delay, lifelong friend and benefactor of Convicted Criminal Jack Abramoff, used 9/11 as all Republicans did to attack Liberals,

"Conservatives saw the savag...savagery of 9/11 in the effects and oh..in, in, the at--attacks and prepared for war. Liberals saw the savageerry on 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapeutic understanding for our attackers."

What the Republicans did after the 1960's was learn to play the perpetual outsider to Washington DC. Forever more, they would be the Revolutionaries battling the enemy. And who was that enemy? Why the evil Liberals and Leftists in DC! Those Liberals are in cahoots with the commies, or the socialists, or the marxists, or the maoists. Or these days the muslims. What Barack Obama doesn't understand is it does not matter how effectively or how much money he throws into the Phony GWOT, to the conservatives he is axiomatically a muslim sympathizer. I'm certain I need not provide any examples since it is the daily talking points of every blogger, toxic conservative radio host and Faux persona. But, here's the odious Pamela Geller who claims that President Obama provided intelligence to the Taliban to enable them to shoot down the Chinook Helo carrying SOF and Navy SEALs because he's in league with the enemy.

Conservatives claim the 'tip of the spear' defense of the nation to deflect, when they are put on the defensive. "You can't be counted on to protect this country when it's under assault internally," stated the noisome R. Limbaugh, who aptly demonstrated that liberal bashing and hippie punching are the automatic response of conservatives, no matter the issue at hand.

So, the answer is; there are as many 'tip of the spearpoints' as necessary for the Republicans and conservatives to succeed in their unending war on the American people.

James O'Keefe and Jason Mattera Conservative Birds of a Feather

And those birds happen to be Racist Chicken Hawks.

Jason Mattera is one of the most cowardly humans to have ever taken a breath. Here is an exchange between Mattera and Chris Matthews:

Chris Matthews: "Would you like to enlist in this war [Iraq]?"
Jason Mattera: "No."

Fucking Disgraceful. Conservatives are Fucking Cowards. And further:

Matthews: "What kind of people should fight in this war, if not you?"
Mattera: "Those who want to."

Mattera goes on to state, He's Fighting the Battle for Ideas. And one of those ideas is to write a book blaming all the problems cowardly conservatives have caused on Liberals.

Once years ago I told friends that a quick way to make money was to write a book and call it Liberalism is a Genetic Disorder and it's very bad for America blah blah blah. Because, Rupert Murdoch or the Koch Brothers will immediatley buy a million and a half copies and include it as a free gift to duped and ignorant conservatives who sign up for the R. Limbaugh newsletter or Human Events webzine. Well, Jason Mattera, while spending many years not in the military, has now come upon or been told the same idea! He's got a book out called Will Smith Zombies or Obama Zombies because as he said in this video he's got a tough time telling them apart.

You see Mattera is fighting on the Home Front where all conservatives muster. Mattera is among the Next Generation of Young Conservative, Generation Chicken Hawk, as captured by Max Blumenthal. The Young Conservatives of today are following in the steps of R. Limbaugh, Dick Armey, John Ashcroft (6 Vietnam Deferments, that even surpasses Dick Cheney), John Bolton, Tucker Carlson, Jim DeMint, Tom DeLay, Mitt Romney, and on and on and on. Just go down any list of Fox Supported Politicians and Commentators. None of them ever served. None of them have a clue about War. The 2010 CPAC Speakers list was a who's who of Bigoted Conservative Warmongering Chicken Hawks.

Conservatives are Fucking Disgraceful. But, conservatives have no sense of shame, no sense of honor, no compunctions about being cowardly pig fucking assholes. But, Mattera was more than content to Support the President during war, when the President is a white republican. Now that a Black man has that mantle it's a different story. And that's where the other modern young conservative step in.

James O'Keefe, Convicted Criminal, is a darling to conservatives because he targets minorities. O'Keefe is, of course, a Chicken Hawk having graduated from Rutgers in 2006 and steadfastly refusing to enlist even though Republicans at that time were rallying behind Bush and Cheney for a ratcheting up of the War in Iraq. But, O'Keefe and his Handler Andrew Breitbart had other people to attack; Minorities.

James O'Keefe was granted lifetime Hero Status and a Conservative Medal of Honor amongst the Right because through COMPLETELY FABRICATED and HIGHLY EDITED video with the help of Fox News he got the organization ACORN defunded. And when any organization which aids oppressed minorities and poor people is minimalized or marginalized, Republicans cheer because it brings them another step closer to reinstalling Slavery, which is the goal of the Republican Party's Moneyed Masters.

However, after the ACORN victory O'Keefe has landed in trouble twice. Once for a crime, which he was convicted, during the Watergate Jr wiretapping attempt at Senator Mary Landrieu's office. And now recently for attempting to seduce or drug a female CNN reporter and videotape her naked or in compromising positions.

But, these incidents don't matter to Conservatives. Mattera's nationally televised cowardice and O'Keefe's committed crimes and attempted sex crimes DO NOT MATTER to conservatives. Conservatives are cowardly hypocrites who will never disown anyone who helps advance the Conservative Values of Oppression, Theft and Murder.

Crafting a Conservative Narrative

All you need are Lies.

The Republican Party has spent much energy successfully crafting an alternate reality in which their Right Wing Toxic Media Scum and Battered Voters can wallow. In this alternate reality Republicans are Heroes instead of cheap disgusting fascist corporate lackeys who hate America and wish to destroy Democracy and instill a Hegemonic One Party Republican Rule. The End Goal of Republican Government is the murdering of all non-Americans, the assignment of the Poor to perpetual slavery and the working of Americans to death in Corporate Bondage. Republicans have largely succeeded in these goals in the Coal and Oil Industry which claims the lives of thousands of Americans who work for slave wages.

However, the majority of Americans have not accepted the Republican Fascist Lies and on a nationwide scale are steadily voting for Liberals and good respectful governance. Occasionally their are setbacks, Michele Bachmann and Steve King can eke out victories in their heavily gerrymandered districts in which conservative bigots take a baseball bat to their heads and groins and convince themselves they aren't voting for the criminally insane.

Rick Santorum - must have been adopted because his Father worked as a Doctor in the VA hospital system in the 70's, tough work with so many wounded vets. Rick didn't inherit any of his father's desire to be close to the military.

Erick Erickson - puffy faced racist Birther, was so angry that 130 Macon Georgia Police Officers wanted to unionize, Erickson stated: I’m thinking I’ll have the City Attorney draft me legislation to dissolve the police department and contract with the Sheriff to provide public safety services. So like all conservatives Erickson not only hates the Military but Police Officers as well.

Jason Mattera, Racist - Quite Infamous amongst Generation Chicken Hawk, the Young Conservatives who are convinced America is involved in World War IV yet have no intention of risking their pasty asses. Operation Yellow Elephant has deatiled posts concerning Mattera's legendary cowardice and despicable behavior. Mattera is quiet a loathsome man and a typical conservative a coward who has railed for years that Radical Islam is the biggest threat to America and this generation's struggle but has spent the last 7 years on College Campuses "fighting" liberal professors and struggling to sculpt his eyebrows just right.

Chicken Hawks one and all.

Of course, there's a simple explanation for Republican Cowardice. When Liberals undertake more dangerous assignments and hazardous duty while Republicans seek deferments and avoid serving overseas Republicans know they have a better chance of conniving women to have sex with them. Republicans are only able to have heterosexual sex when the woman has been duped and Republicans only get homosexual sex when they pay for it, which is often.

Democrats unfortunately think Republicans are serious when they wave flags and champion war, but the only reasons cowards like Karl Rove, Saxby Chambliss, Dick Cheney and Jason Mattera root for war is because they can't get women when held in competition with Liberals, so they hope Liberals will go to war and die.

But, ultimately the sad realization is the Alternate Reality Spun by Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, Limbaugh, Fox News is real to conservatives. Conservatives cling to their shackles and won't fight this insanity, won't struggle to free their minds and loosen their bonds but instead will aid the Republican Party in enslaving the rest of America who strives to live a life of Freedom and Liberty in accordance with the Founding of the Nation.

A Life which the Republican Party seeks to Destroy.

The funniest thing about watching CPAC is the cavalcade of speakers all have the same look. Soft, Pasty and doughy. It's as if the Pillsbury Dough Boy has been adopted as the symbol for CPAC. [Watch clips of the speakers from Media Matters.]

Jason Mattera, Racist - Quite Infamous amongst Generation Chicken Hawk, the Young Conservatives who are convinced America is involved in World War IV yet have no intention of risking their pasty asses. Operation Yellow Elephant has detailed posts concerning Mattera's legendary cowardice and despicable behavior. Mattera is quiet a loathsome man and a typical conservative a coward who has railed for years that Radical Islam is the biggest threat to America and this generation's struggle but has spent the last 7 years on College Campuses "fighting" liberal professors and struggling to sculpt his eyebrows just right.

Chicken Hawks one and all. Conservatives are a fucking disgrace.

And lest anyone think the Conservative ire directed against President Obama has anything to do with fiscal responsibility or protecting America, Monumental Failures Bush and Cheney were apparently cheered loudly by CPAC members.

Conservatives don't want to change anything, except who controls of the Apparatus of Government from which to control the American people and enrich themselves. Conservatives are arousing the anger of the Tea Baggers, whom they wish to merely use to regain control and then quickly clamp down and diffuse. The problem is the calls for violence and revolution the conservatives are hoping to use to ride to election victories are having consequences.

The Marines Leave Iraq

"Is the sacrifice worth it? It is worth it and it is vital to the security of our country," ~ George W. Bush

On 01/23/10, the US Marines transferred Anbar Province over to the US Army and are heading home after 7 years of Operations in the area.

And while I am still firmly against the Iraq War, and do not believe any so-called victory is worth the price we paid, I salute my brave Corps Brethren.

The Marines who served prior, during and after my time in Iraq accomplished an incredible feat through sheer guts, intelligence, determination, training and perseverance despite the best efforts of the Bush/Cheney Neo-Con chicken hawks and Democratic cowards who sent them over there to make money for the War Profiteers.

Sadly because Conservatives have no intention of going to war they view the Marines and Soldiers as little more than wooden tokens on a RISK like game board. And many Marines bled their heart's blood into the desert for no good reason. And those that made it back to the States physically have left a part of their souls in the Middle East.

For some Marines never really come home. They suffer, unable to readjust to regular life in the 1st CIV DIV. Many take their lives.

Why? Because Dick Cheney and the Republicans (and then the Democrats) couldn't be bothered to deal with bureaucratic mismanagement and spend time helping those they sent into harm's way. But, that's to be expected from Republicans. Republicans are Cowards who hate the Troops and view them as raw meat. To be ground up serving Republican interests and advancing the Republican Party.

The Republican Party especially likes when soldiers die because Conservative Chicken Hawk Cowards, like the grave robbers and fakes they are, put their evil ideology, into the mouths of the dead for whom they have no right to speak.

Championing War, with no intention of fighting, and Using the dead are core Conservative Principles.

And they even give talks highlighting their cowardice: "Join the UMass Republican Club for yet another lively and edifying political discussion on the costs, necessities, consequences, and benefits of war." Because all that The University of Massachusetts Amherst Republicans and "rising star in the conservative intellectual movement" Jonah Goldberg are saying is Give War a Chance... You can always hear the people who are willing to sacrifice somebody else's life. They're plenty loud and they talk all the time.

Shared Sacrifice why War Movies Suck

Nixon over at LT Nixon Rants wonders why Iraq and Afghanistan war movies are duds.

The reason is unlike in World War II (and Vietnam) there is no actual shared sacrifice amongst the American people. WWII was a shared burden across the entire American populace. There is no shared sacrifice and no shared burden during the last 8 years.

418500 Americans lost their lives in WWII and millions more were injured. Additionally, the American People aided in the War effort, scrimped and saved, worked with the Department of War and in the Armed Forces and knew large swaths of the American populace also sacrificed and suffered.

While, today a vast majority of Americans do not have even a tangential connection to either theater of Operations. This is why no one cares about War deaths, or TBI and homeless Veterans.

And those making movies are even further removed. No modern "star" today would even consider dropping a Hollywood career for service. There aren't a Vic Mature or Wayne Morris amongst today's stars. No today's Hollywood elite mimic World War II Chicken Hawks Ronald Reagan and John Wayne and pretend to be in the military...

Then, when the war ended most Americans had a real connection to it and knew something about war and the military. They knew how to portray the war and soldiers. Today's Americans and Hollywooders don't and it shows.
