Wagner Group Coup Attempt? Republicans worry about Putin's well-being!

Update:

Was it all a ruse?  This "Insurrection" launched while Prigozhin was so far from Moscow?  I can only hope President Biden is receiving detailed and  timely information.  And I can't say I see the geo-political benefit to Putin.  Nor how the Attempted Coup solidifies Putin's power.  As his Lieutenants had to work it out without his imprimatur.  

Wisconsin disgrace Ron Johnson, who likes to spend his 4th of July, paying fealty to Vladimir Putin might be considering a resolution to send troops into Russia to help Putin put down the apparent Coup attempt launched by Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the paramilitary Wagner group.

This began when Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, issued a decree that all Paramilitary groups must sign a loyalty oath to the Ministry of Defense by July 1st.  Prigozhin, began this action, by claiming in a nod to Russian history that the Tsar has been deceived and it's up to him to remove the bad bureaucratic elements enriching themselves and betraying Russia!  Wagner group then claimed to have been fired upon by Russian military forces and Prigozhin turned his mercenaries backs towards Russia, seizing Rostov-on-Don and sending advance elements into Voronezh in an obvious attempt to make it to Moscow.  Putin has vowed to destroy this rebellion and thus far at least enough of his shattered military is responding instead of standing aside;

"All those who consciously stood on the path of betrayal, who prepared an armed rebellion, stood on the path of blackmail and terrorist methods, will suffer inevitable punishment, before the law and before our people,"Putin said in a five-minute speech.

Prigozhin seems to have bitten off more than he can Coup, because an attempt like this relies upon speed and not allowing heavy weaponry and military units interfere.  Wagner group has captured some equipment as well so their eventual inability to resupply is not yet a factor but, if they get bogged down or if Putin manages to deploy loyal troops to engage in a protracted skirmish to slow/stop the Wagner group advance it may signal the end of the Coup attempt.  

Also taking a wait and see approach are the rabid Putin loving Reactionaries who for 16 months have declared Ukraine's resistance and US/NATO support of said resistance a monstrous mistake and tantamount to a war crime.  Glenn Greenwald has yet to weigh in on this monumental situation and is silent down in Brazil because he doesn't know who will be signing his checks come tomorrow morning.

Let’s see if we can find something a little bit more level,'” - Republican Loser Kari Lake on the Louder Bigotry with Bigot Steven Crowder show, claims she would have turned down a chance at freedom.  We all know this is a venal lie as Lake makes this claim from the safety of her soft focus television studio but, it also highlights the despicable nature of Republican philosophy which is off-handedly cavalier with other peoples' lives.

So, Faux News abandoned the Railroad Union Busting Biden angle pretty quickly, 1) because Faux News loathes Unions and 2) they realize their reactive bigoted base really doesn't care about the contract issue.  But, Brittney Griner's release? Ho-Ho-Ho, that's the bloody racist red meat which the Republican Party feeds it's bigoted base of rabid rightwingers.

Thomas Hartmann read on air, the titles from every on-line rightwing rag which attacked Griner and President Biden.  Each article was worse than the last dripping with pure hatred and despicable vitriol.  One of the worst aspects of rightwing propaganda is how fervently they decide victories are actually defeats.  The response by Republicans and rightwingers to President Biden's successful diplomatic release of Brittney Griner is as bigoted as it is nonsensical.

First and foremost, this shows just how allied Republicans are to Russia and Vladimir Putin's monstrous regime.  Republicans see Russia as an ardent ally in the global contest to re-ensconce White Supremacy and fundamentalist bigotry into power.  If Traitor Trump was still in the White House, the 82nd Airborne would have landed in Kyiv and aided the FSB in capturing Zelenskiyy and conquering Ukraine.  But, fortunately, Joe Biden is President and he girded Europe into resisting Vladimir Putin's unlawful war of aggression into Ukraine.

But, more importantly, on the domestic front this whole incident shows the level of hatred Republicans have for black people, whom Republicans don't really consider to be Americans, and for the LGBTQ community, whom Republicans don't even consider to be human.

Republicans hate black people and LGBTQIA persons so much they would let any and all of them perish at the hands of a brutal dictator.  At home Republicans hate black people and LGBTQIA persons so much they are broadcasting calls for rightwing men to take guns and murder them daily.  Republicans are vile villains who have nothing to offer the American people but, hatred and fear.

So, remember Republicans are going to craft all manner of propaganda about the Brittney Griner issue because they see it as another avenue to glom aggrieved white working class men to them.  And it doesn't take much for Republicans to get their rightwing drones mad at Griner; she's black, gay, and far and away more athletic than they ever were and ever could possibly be.

But, don't be fooled 99.9% of rightwingers couldn't have told you who Viktor Bout was prior to the swap.  And I'm not worried about an International Arms Dealer going back to Russia and resuming his previous career.  It's a far different world from the one he left during his 12 year prison stay.  Bout can't simply reintegrate himself into his old networks and supply chains and Russia is engaged in an active large scale war not the phony peace of the 2000's.  So fearmongering Bout release will be nothing more than a repeat of the fear mongering for the 5 prisoners released from GITMO for Bowe Berghdal.

And of course rightwing liars are spamming every platform with Whatabout "ex-Marine" Paul Whelan? Fortunately, Whelan's family has been very honorable and rejoiced in Griner's release instead of feeding the rightwing narrative.

In 1973, the bloated, complacent, and backwards thinking U.S. Automotive industry took a wallop when OPEC introduced an Oil embargo and took steps to wrest control of the oil market from US and European backed oil companies.

American cars of the 1970's were ridiculous monstrosities and American automakers weren't invested in the type of innovation and design investment necessary to stay competitive.  The 30 years after WW2 had led to a malaise of over-confidence.  German and especially Japanese car makers were ready to pounce on the small car market, with advanced vehicles that not only were far more efficient and better cars but, also what a large segment of the customer base in the United States wanted.

Of course, since then the sad truth is the American car industry has still not learned the lessons of 1973.  Today, gas prices across the country are reaching the highest real cost as well as the highest relative price ever.  And are drivers in the United States equipped to handle this? 

Nope.

You see American car shopper sucks or to be fairer, consistently makes the bad vehicle choice, especially when given the chance to make that choice.  Every time gas prices relax a little bit, Americans go out and buy giant gas guzzling monster vehicles.  Now maybe it's a symbiotic relationship between car makers and consumer.  As the giant land yachts of the 1970's didn't go away they were simply jacked up and retitled Sport Utility Vehicles and Trucks.  Everyone wants a big truck.  Even so-called midsized trucks like the Ford Ranger, Honda Ridgeline, or Chevy Colorado would be big trucks in an earlier era.  Of course, some really small Utes have just been reintroduced; the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick (also as a hybrid) but, it's way late to finally introduce these smaller more efficient models.

Additionally, while the hyper car market is tiny and geared towards the super rich, it's moving to electric vehicles.  But, the "affordable" luxury and performance market isn't getting great gas mileage either.

So, thanks to Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine, energy prices are spiking across the globe.  And Americans are once again moaning about paying at the pump.

Unbelievable.  Or... in reality it isn't... because the American dream of cheap energy derived from fossil fuels is yet again another cornerstone of the endless Republican assault on the United States.   

43 years ago President Jimmy Carter, a good and decent and deeply religious man put solar panels on the White House.  President Carter called for 20% of American power to be procured from solar In Year 2000.

This was a smart, forward-thinking plan and one which would have helped usher in the electric car revolution far earlier as well as combat what executives and scientists working for the fossil fuels industry  already knew in the 1970's; that climate change was going to destroy the planet and kill millions (or more) people.

Instead, what we got in 1979 was an Iranian Revolution because the Shah of Iran, whom the United States and British had placed into power in 1953 to help the oil from Persia flow, was a brutal dictator and murderer.  The Hostage Crisis opened the doors to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave for the villainous Republican Party. 

And in 1981, Ronnie Raygun stepped into the White House with his oil-drenched hairdo, phony cowboy demeanor, and chickenhawk warmonger swagger and promptly took the solar panels off the roof and declared the United States would never break its' addiction to fossil fuels or foreign entanglements.  Reagan was already a brain-addled fraud in the pocket of Big Oil, before being shot and suffering brain damage.

So Reagan's handlers told him to open areas of the United States to exploitation and ruin and in 1986, Raygun gave a speech "crowing" about how "freedom", "the marketplace", "the entrepreneurs and businessmen and women of America" performed miracles after he decontrolled Oil from The Government.

What a fucking asshole.  Reagan's fraudulence set the course to tie the United States to the Middle East and for the next 40 years the American people have suffered because of it.  Reagan incited and assured Saddam Hussein the US would support him and Iraq against Iran.  Well that led to 30 years of violence in Iraq and Iran didn't it? 

And opening the United States to haphazard oil drilling ushered in disastrous oil spills via the Exxon Valdez (1989), BP Deepwater Horizon (2010), too say nothing of all the lesser spills you've never heard about, and the monstrously destructive 21st century fracking boom with all it's accompanying environmental destruction.

But, this post is already too long and I've barely touched the disastrous W(orst President Ever) Maladministration drilling policies or Former Republican Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and all his associated crimes*, misappropriation of funds, and abuse of authority.  And that's the problem; it takes a lot of reading and the acknowledgment of background information which bad actors on the Right are unwilling to engage in because they've mastered the art of the Meme and the bumper sticker and conservatives have entered an Era of having their own facts.  

They simply assert High Gas Prices Biden Fault shorthand.  So, instead of getting a fuel efficient vehicle or investing in an electric vehicle, a whole bunch of Americans who asserted it was their right to get the gaudiest, biggest, least practical, non-efficient Truck are now crying about high gas prices and petulantly pouting that mean Pete Buttigieg said they should buy an electric vehicle  

*- Career Criminal Traitor Trump showed Republicans they had been a bunch of "Suckers and Losers", when you have authority you commit crimes and you keep committing crimes non-stop because the media isn't interested in following them all up.

A handful of conservatives are going to actually read the report and most of those are bad faith actors who will elide or obfuscate on the true findings to present "bleeding chunks" of the report selectively to the Barbarian horde of #MAGA. From there the army of  Twitter MAGA will flood every avenue of social media to ensure the lies and falsehoods presented by AG Bill Barr, Faux News, Hate Radio, and the rightwing disinformation machine are repeated over and over and over and over and over. 

The truth of the report will be lost in the flood of rightwing propaganda and screams of Fake News!

Every topic of American life is subject to these up-is-down, black-is-white bad faith Republican arguments; from healthcare, to the environment, the 2nd Amendment to Education. This wholesale bad faith by the Republicans is not something the Democratic Party, the apparatus of Government, the foundational documents, the Nation, or We the People can withstand. Especially, since the Republicans have weaponized their bad faith arguments to rile up the Reactionary #MAGAts. And conservatives no longer need to receive Republican propaganda from on high; they've long adopted techniques of self-radicaliztion.

Even this short New Republic article is far too long and far too nuanced for Trumpublicans too read when tweets from Chuck Grassley, Lou Dobbs, or the Chosen One himself declare the Obama FBI and Ukraine tried to steal the 2016 election. As the evidence of Trump's Treason against the United States of America mounts conservatives have turned to a well-worn tactic first advanced by creationists.  To attack the fact of evolution, duplicitous conservative creationists demand that every facet of evolution needs to be explained or it's not true.  Russia and the Republicans colluded in treason to steal the election but, conservatives claim unless you can show every in and out, every shred of evidence, then it's not true.

Additionally, Republican criminals have changed their ardent denials from there was never any collusion, to the collusion occurred but's it's a "Nothingburger".  Now conservatives proclaim the collusion which they say never occurred is the fault of Barack Obama.

The Traitor Trump family, the Russian-aligned Republicans and their conservative criminals will never admit to their monstrous crimes and treason.  As the evidence mounts and the downfall of Arch-Traitor Trump grows more and more likely the Republican villains are going to issue louder and louder calls for political violence to their conservative domestic terrorist cells who are just aching to be unleashed to murder their enemies, the American People, in an orgy of violence instead of the slow death inflicted by Republican laws.

Thus, the Republican Party, a subsidiary of the Russian Government, is blaming President Barack Obama for their treasonous alliance with Putin and the FSB.

Republicans will do whatever possible to take power and force their vision of the American Dream onto the Nation.  The Republican Dream is to turn America into a giant death camp of unending corporate bondage, where the American people work until they die and instead of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, the Republicans will give the American people death, slavery, and the endless pit of debt slavery.

So, as further evidence of direct control of Trump, his inner circle, Republican elected officials by Russian Intelligence Operatives comes to light expect the anger, right-wing lies, and calls for Civil War from conservative domestic terrorists increase.  But, the Banana Republican Party doesn't care because their enemy is the American People and conservatives will ally with anyone who helps them advance their agenda of intolerance, oppression, and adulation of the rich.

Excellent article. It describes in detail what was known as the “echo chamber” during the Obama admin. The echo chamber was an endless and repetitious drum beat of false and politically motivated stories about Obama detractors that many in the media, including CNN, were happy to promote. I think it was Ben Rhodes, a close Obama associate, who actually coined the term “echo chamber” and it describes the phenomenon perfectly. You also made an excellent point that anonymous “officials” can basically assert anything they want, no matter how false, with no repercussions. It’s no secret that many in the federal government employ are Democrats and would love to see Trump destroyed. The whole thing is grotesque and a great example of why most Americans distrust the media it is supposed to rely on for factual news.

And Trump has admitted it.  Trump starts his mornings focused on Russia, yelling at staff about Russia, venting about the media's reporting on Russia, his actions are those of a guilty man caught red-handed.  Trump tweeted yesterday he knows President Obama was aware of Putin and Russian interference in the 2016 election.  Trump, most likely, believed his tweet, "Was not stupid" but, it undermined the claims right-wing media have been making that there is no evidence of Russian Interference.  Of course, the Trumpenpropletariat will never abandon Trump and will not be bothered by this inconsistency because they have been conditioned to axiomatically adhere to Cleek's Law, which postulates Conservatism is against whatever Liberals want, updated daily.

Now, it might seem odd the Republican Party, which made absolute resistance to Russia the core of their Party for 40 years, would align with Russia.  But, it makes sense when you realize the Republican Party's enemies have always been the American People and the American Dream.

The Republican Party has been at war with American ever since the end of World War 2.  Republicans hid their hatred and anger at the Social Safety Net during the War but, as soon as the need for unity ended, Republicans went back to what they've been doing since the founding of the Nation.  Seeking to kill and enslave as many Americans as possible.

The Republicans Don't Care Bill is designed to harm and bring about the death of millions of Americans.  Recall the Republican Party has 8 years to craft some sort of Healthcare Reform.  For 8 years they screeched, Obamacare Sucks! And America would have perfect healthcare if it weren't for that dastardly Barack Obama blocking us!  And these are the bills we've been promised?!?

This all makes sense when people realize Republicans real enemy and only enemy are the American people.  The Republican Party exists for one purpose, the destruction of the Democratic Republic and the creation of a Neo-Feudal Wage Slave State in which the American People are shackled in unending bondage to undying Corporate Persons.

Trump is wholly owned by Russia and in hock to Putin. When Trump suffered one of his multiple bankruptices, Putin bankrolled him with the understood agreement they would be paid back. Well, that tab has come due and Putin is going to be paid back.

Russia's economy has been tied to oil exports for decades now. Obama's leadership on the Iran deal opening up their oil reserves and Obama's leadership in isolating Russia after the annexation of Crimea have crippled Russia's economy.

Adding in the friction over Syria, Putin needed a weakening of the United States and saw their chance with the clownish Trump and evil agenda of Trump's cabal of conservative neo-nazis, Trump and the traitorous Republican Party are set to devastate the United States from within and eliminate our abilities and reputation abroad.

This is The Beginning of the End of the Democratic Republic. Of course, this smacks of hyperbole, as people have been speaking of the end of the Republic since 1800. But, only Tojo, Osama Bin Laden, and Robert E. Lee have done more damage to the United States than the Republican Party and their bevy of conservative neo-nazis. Now we have the admission that a political party openly invited a foreign government to mess with our elections and that party not only didn't care they requested that aid to gain power.

Conservatives are set on doing what Putin's Soviet Union failed at; Destroying the United States.

As CEO of Exxon Tillerson worked out a $500 billion dollar deal with the Putin's state oil company. President Obama's sanctions on Russia for Putin's warmongering in 2014 cancelled this deal. Now that Putin has helped Trump sneak into the White House with less votes. As Trump is Putin's Pawn he dutifully paved Tillerson into Sec of State to push the deal through.

I mean this literally... No, I'm just joking... Or, am I? No, no, no it's sarcasm... Actually, it's the truth Trump has, most likely, sexually abused his daughters.

But, Trump's sordid past and criminal actions against his daughters will never be properly investigated because of Donald's mafia ties in New York. So, we'll just have his inappropriate actions and comments in public which clearly indicate his decades long criminal sexual abuse.

But, why won't Trump release his tax returns? Well, for one thing because it will show he's cash poor but, more devastaingly it will highlight how Trump is Putin's lapdog.

After American investors, banks, companies, and his own employees learned that Trump doesn't pay his debts they stopped doing business with him. But, Vladimir Putin knows a shrewd investment and he bought himself an all-American loudmouth.

Because remember Trump assured America, Putin and Russia aren't going into the Ukraine, despite having invaded the Ukraine and annexing the Crimea 2 years ago.

Of course, even worse than Trump's subservience to Putin and Russia, Trump also doesn't want details of the organizations he's made charitable donations too. Because Trump didn't donate to any Veterans or 9/11 1st responders charities but, has made significant contributions to NAMBLA. This is evidenced by Trump's fellow pedophile Mark Foley, former Republican Congressman, being in seated in a place of honor directly behind Trump at his rallies.

And so conservatives and evangelicals have jettisoned all semblance of respectability and their so-called values, to allow themselves to be bought cheaply by a tacky, foreign owned con-artist.
