The Many Coups of January 6th and the New Coups for 22 (Fascist Republicans are destroying America)

Faced with a clear electoral and popular vote defeat, multiple long time Republicans decided to jettison the 2020 election results and any semblance of Constitutional Democracy for pure Authoritarian control of the US Government. 

Newt Gingrich famously took out a Contract on America in 1994.  Gingrich has been a stain on the United States political scene for 40 years.  Of course, he was going to try and do something about Trump's defeat.  But, as Paul Krugman said, “Newt Gingrich is what stupid people think a smart person talks like.” He's a well documented bigot and a traitor. 

Justice Ginni and Clarence Thomas the Ettin of the Supreme Court have worked since 1991 to destroy the United States.  The Thomas Ettin will undo almost all basic rights of privacy and the right (established by the 1st Amendment) to associate with whomever we, the people wish.  Ginni spent the post 2020 election contacting people in multiple states trying to get them to overturn the election.

Of course, the rightwing slow-moving Coup against the United States Government goes back decades.  And Reactionary's have been waiting for the right strongman to come along to undemocratically insert into the White House to drown the US Government in a bathtub and create the Neo-Confederate White Supremacist Slave State they've dreamed about since 1865.

It's insulting that the revelations about Ginni Thomas and Newt Gingrich's attempt to use their long-standing ties to the Republican establishment to coerce, entice, or bully State and local officials toignore the votes of the American people and just ensconce Donald Traitor Trump into the White House has caused such a small ripple in the Corporate Media world.

And this is what made Major Traitor Greene so angry on January 6th; Republicans had a bureaucratic plan in place to swipe the Presidency on 01/06/21 by legerdemain and rightwing domestic terrorists wrecked it by going off half-cocked.  Russian Ron Johnson was going to hand the fake electors to Pence and Mike Pence, who yearned to have someone tell him it was alright to unendorsed President Joe Biden's win, was going to fold and declare the 2020 Presidential Election undone.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, knows the Republicans are not going to abide by the popular vote at all in 2024.  Their actions in the wake of Trump's resounding defeat in 2020 show this;  take for instance the Unconstitutional Sheriff of Barry County, Michigan Dar Leaf who unable to find the evidence of Voter Fraud decided to engage in a conspiracy to create the evidence.  Or the local head Republican of Coffee County Georgia, who escorted unauthorized rightwing provocateurs into sensitive areas to let them copy confidential information and breach voting machines and systems.  These are just some of the efforts conservatives undertook after losing the Election.  Worse is to come...

The R-Money Reactionary Billionaire Leonard Leo apparently has the plan to stack the courts with conservatives judges who will adhere to the Independent State Legislature doctrine, so Republican controlled states can simply award their state's electoral votes to Donald Trump.

That the Republicans have fully embraced Fascism is unsurprising; there have been several inflection points since they caved to the Left and jettisoned Richard Nixon.  They last 50 years have been an exercise in the first slowly, then all at once principle.  That the Republicans are destroying America for Donald Fvcking Trump is just the pièce de résistance.

The Conservative Constitutional Coup continues

Read it and weep #AOC!  Theoretically a fan of Ben Shapiro, after watching Ben suck on your toes, gets to rape you, as the Terrorists on Jan6th planned to do.  Afterwards you are obligated to carry Ben Shapiro's fan rape baby to term thanks to the decision by Sammy "Il Douche" Alito.  But, Ben Shapiro's tweet of 8 words contains multitudes.  "The Law" is something conservatives seek to do to Americans.  Obliterating Roe is a big victory for the Authoritarian Right.  But, it's far from the first vicious victory they've celebrated in their 50 year slow moving Coup.

Conservatives decided after Nixon was taken from them that they never let that happen again and would gain control of the US Government by any means necessary.  The Lewis Powell Memo predated Nixon's resignation but, it laid out one of the avenues of attack conservatives planned for the United States.  

Ronnie Raygun's Regime was unmitigated disaster for the media, for Unions, and advanced the economic dominance of the Rich.  Raygun getting away with high crimes and misdemeanors* via Iran-Contra was a foundational brick in the Slow Coup,

Under Bill Clinton, the Republicans gained control of Congress and despicable Newt Gingrich issued the Contract on America.

Then came the first open declaration of Rightwing War on Democracy via the Stolen Election of 2000 and the Republican Injustices Bush v Gore ruling. 

9/11 and the Phony War on Terror which followed for the next 20 years became a yolk around the neck of America which Democratic President's Obama and Biden removed.  Both paid a tremendous political price for ending, which really shouldn't matter except the Corporate Media was furious over losing their War Boners so they set upon ensuring Republicans could gain political power and disingenuously blame Barack and Joe for W(orst President Ever) and Dick Cheney's lies and war crimes. 

And that lead to the Corporate Media slagging HRC and elevating Donald John Trump; a known sleaze, a mobbed-up their, a money launderer for Russian gangsters, a slimy child rapist and absuer of women, to the Presidency because while it wasn't good for America it was good for CBS.  At the Boofer O'Kavanaugh hearings a smirking Lindsey Graham making a woman cry was delicious material for conservatives who had shared the crying HRC camping worker meme a billion times.  

And while in 2020, Trump was called the Last Middle Finger left to say fuck you to American Democracy we've seen every single Republican goose-step into line to #OwntheLibs and his the 3 miscreants he elevated to The Supreme Court are fulfilling the Bureaucratic Violence as the Coup has sped up since the Fascist Inflection Point of January 6th.

These are just the broadest of strokes of the rightwing slow-moving Coup.  There have been thousands of unjust "legal" micro-aggressions against America led by a cavalcade of local, state, and federal Republican villains and buttressed by the millions of hours rightwing propagandists have spent poisoning the Nation.

So since 2021 the slow-moving Coup begun 50 years earlier has morphed into a faster one and as the 2022 elections loom conservatives are steadily planning on ensuring the 2024 Elections don't matter and the United States is forever changed into a full-fledged Fascist White Evangelical Ethno-State

Josh Dawsey of the Washington Post got an interview with Trump and it was filled with all his typical lies and foibles.  Oh True the Vote in Georgia is uncovering things, you can't believe just wait!  Oh my crowd on January 6th was tremendous, biggest ever!  Oh I would have rushed in and saved the day but, man the Secret Service held me back.  Oh Nancy, she's responsible for the violence.

Trump is the perfect cipher for the modern conservative; he's weak they pretend he's strong, he's cowardly they pretend he's brave, he's stupid they pretend he's smart, he's a thief they pretend he's a savvy businessman, he's venal they pretend he's above corruption.  Trump is devoid of spirit, of knowledge, of generosity, of kindness, of charity, of every fucking value conservatives claim to cherish and they love him.

All for this fucking guy!  There is no descriptor or adjective which encompasses or correctly identifies Trump.  Except one, Fascist. 

I don't even know why I'm typing this.  Nothing is going to break this rightwing fever.  Even if Trump runs and loses again in 2024, MAGA has elevated him to Mythological Hero status and heap all manner of feats and legends upon him.  

And, of course Mitch McConnell and others knew what Trump was.  Of course, they saw what his rhetoric could bring about.  But, they don't care.  Like all indolent bureaucrats they calculated they could control a Fascist and ride his demagoguery to victories; with taxes, with the SCOTUS, and bring about the Neo-Confederate White Evangelical Nation-State they desire.  And for fucks sake... they might be right.

I read Merrick Garland is down with Covid.  I am still hoping Garland's DOJ is building the case to bring against Trump, his confidants, and cabal.  I recognize Garland saw the way Faux News, the rightwing internet, Bill Barr, and Traitor Trump himself, used whatever means, bad faith, and lies to undermine the Mueller Report.  And I know the new revelations about Ginni Thomas' deep involvement in the attempt to Overthrow the United States government have created more work on top of the 700+ prosecutions the Department of Justice has on-going with small fry's and the dopey leaders of the Proud Boys and Oathbreakers.  So, I hope Garland is building as air-tight a case as he can; but, with the understanding The Perfect is the Enemy of the Good.  But if Traitor Trump, his Republican criminals in Congress (Gaetz, Greene, Boebert, Gosar, Massie, and so many others) are allowed to get away without prosecution then we're completely screwed.

2016 was the most important election in my lifetime and we lost.  The damage is still unfolding.  These 4 years under President Biden are a chance to undo some damage, and if Joe hadn't done anything other than hold the line and delay the Fascist Ascension, his Presidency would have been a success.  President Biden has already done much more as Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson's appointment today proves.

Fascists don't care what comes next after they topple a democratically elected government. They have a simple end-state in mind (i.e. them in charge) but their focus and purpose is to win the battle in front of them, not anything resembling actual governing.

The Ottawa and Associated Trucker Sit-Ins (Drive-Ins?) has morphed into an attempt to topple the Trudeau government. Perhaps elements always had this in mind.  Perhaps, a small group of bad actors infiltrated later to use the chaos and clown show convoy as cover.  But, when paramilitary wannabes feel free to openly erect compounds with fuel dumps, communications networks, and semi-sophisticated logistics centers then several thresholds have been crossed because modern day fascists seldom have the space to operate so openly.  Fascists always take advantage of the openness and tolerance of Democratic societies and right-wingers having co-opted and perverted the mantles of liberty, freedom, and patriotism find willing allies or foot-dragging in Law Enforcement.

Of course, the Canadian initial reaction and enforcement response seems to have been flawed either due to institutional blindness or inability to mobilize but, at the same time Fascists always strive for an over-reaction which then provides them their Casus Belli to engage in outright indiscriminate warfare.  And the Canadian system doesn't provide as strong an immediate federal response as Ours.

Fortunately for Us, Canadian citizens don't feel the constraints of the Government and have been trolling and fighting back against the Fascists.  Hackers infiltrated the communications of the Convoy and fought back interrupting their comms with the Gay Cowboy anthem "Ram Ranch".  Citizens were apparently also able to breach GiveSendGo (a Boston-based GoFundMe clone) and released the names of 92,000 donors to the Fascist Trucker Convoy.  With the proper diagnostic tools it would be a good idea to cross-reference those names with people arrested or associated with Jan6th.  GiveSendGo was also prominently used by the 01/06 Traitors.  Furthermore, on the ground reporting (therefore in contradiction with American rightwing propaganda) contradicts any claim this is some Rightwing Woodstock or expression of Workers Rights.  The only connection to Workers this group has is the National Socialist variety.  

Even a cursory examination of the leaders and people involved illustrates this is a collection of fringe far-right hooligans spouting a noxious mix of far-right bugbears, but now the group is receiving outside funding, support, and attention from many who see this as a way to undermine Democracy.  Probably some from the anti-democratic elements in Eastern Europe but, a large amount is being funneled from Good Old USA.  American right-wingers have become more and more comfortable fighting their war on Democracy and to overturn elections in our backyard.  Lead Faux Fascist Propagandist Tucker Carlson predictably called this "the most successful human rights protest".  Faux, writ large, has given nothing but glowing support for the whole endeavor.  It's always the smart play.  Faux tells its' viewers what to think and their rightwing drones will cling to that no matter what the evidence or truth.

Trump showed these people that Democratic institutions, norms, prohibitions, and even laws are weak.  Especially the laws part.  Trump and his Criminal Cabal committed crime after crime knowing the media couldn't or wouldn't keep up.  The Jan6th Inflection Point has not only put the United States in danger but, Western Democracies everywhere, as well.  It will be the Trump's lasting legacy and Vladimir Putin's most successful campaign to undermine freedom and liberty.  He's exported a new authoritarian vibe throughout the world.
