J.D. Vance (who did not serve during War) joins ugly weird Trump is pissing on Veterans and insulting Medal of Honor recipients

Has the Corporate Media decided to move on from Donald Trump incredibly insulting comments on Medal of Honor recipients?  Probably... after all that's just Donald being Donald.  And look what weird wacky thing our Dear Donald said today!  He also said he's going to drive down prices!  How?  Who knows!!!  But, let's get together to nitpick every policy idea Harris has proposed, after all we in the Corporate Media have got to get busy knocking down Kamala Harris and Tim Walz campaign momentum to give our Dear Donald a chance in November!!!

Just Dishonorable Vance was asked about the Trump crapping on MoH recipients because those suckers and losers are in pretty bad shape and all shot up or dead and played the same old Republican trick of 'I did't hear what he said' before moving on to stating emphatically Veterans are "very, very much behind Donald Trump".

Let's pause right here.  I've been out of the Corps for 20 years, having done 5 years active duty including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  But, even when I was in it was no longer Ronnie Raygun's military,  and the kids in the military now, are by far more progressive than my generation who saw the end of DADT.  And in 2020, Veterans and active duty service members voted for Joe Biden over Donald Trump.  President Biden pointed this out in the first debate but, remember Trump said No Way!

Understand conservatives have been living in their epistemological bubble, listening to and regurgitating the same rightwing propaganda for so long, they can no longer accept reality;

"I did find it odd that, throughout the day/night, I saw a few dozen military ballots be counted," a certified poll watcher said in his statement dated November 4. "Although I cannot provide specific numbers or names, I can estimate that at least 80% of the military ballots I saw were straight ticket Democrat or simply had Joe Biden's name filled in on them.  I had always been told that military personnel tended to be more conservative, so this stuck out to me as the day went on," he added.

This was part of the "evidence" Republicans continue to cite to this very fucking day of the election being stolen from Donald Trump, i.e. people they don't know voted against Traitor Trump but, how can this be since everyone they know voted for him??? They found that "odd", Checkmate, Joe Biden!

Also let's be a bit pedantic for a moment.  Rightwingers on Twitter (X) adopted the Republican Switfboat attack on Vice President Tim Walz because of a video saying he carried weapons of war,  Just Dishonorable Vance slandered Walz by demanding to know wha War he carried them in?  So... let's go down one of two paths;  

1. J.D. Vance did not serve during a "WAR", because no American has since 1945.  The last declared War was World War 2.  Operation Iraqi Freedom was not a War, it was an authorized use of military force.  Congress and President's do this for the last 80 years because it allows them to side-step so many pesky laws and political hurdles, as well as UN sanctions.
2. Iraq, Afghanistan, and all the smaller military actions (MOOTW) fall under the umbrella of the Global War on Terror.  This can be traced to the George W. Bush ignoring the August 6th 2001 memo warning of Bin Laden's plan to attack the United States which resulted in the attacks on the NYC Twin Towers, Pentagon, and the field in Pennsylvania from the Heroes of Flight 93 can be calculated to fall under the timeframe of the most recent National Defense Service Medal, which was put into effect from 09/11/01 to 12/31/22, having just been closed.  So by that metric, Walz did in fact, serve during a time of War.

Trump's unbelievably insulting disrespect prompted the VFW (a far-right reactionary organization) to admonish him,

These asinine comments not only diminish the significance of our nation’s highest award for valor, but also crassly characterizes the sacrifices of those who have risked their lives above and beyond the call of duty.

When a candidate to serve as our military’s commander-in-chief so brazenly dismisses the valor and reverence symbolized by the Medal of Honor and those who have earned it, I must question whether they would discharge their responsibilities to our men and women in uniform with the seriousness and discernment necessary for such a powerful position. It is even more disappointing when these comments come from a man who already served in this noble office and should frankly already know better.

Will pissing on Medal of Honor recipients be the final straw for Traitor Trump?  Have you noticed the Total Silence from Republicans?  I won't even play the game of imagine Barack Obama or Bill Clinton had made such a statement during a re-election campaign.  Everyone knows if a Democratic candidate made such a statement they'd have to step down.  The sheer amount of fury would dwarf the summer sun's rays.  And like the "57-States" joke it would be something the Right and Media would never forget and constantly reference.  Yet, the Corporate Media is simply ready to move along.

It's far past time to ask the Journalists of the Mainstream Media why they will not point out Donald Trump is a weird raving lunatic?  Whatever the cause, be it mere sundowning due to age or a brain infested with spirochetes;  Trump is a disrespectful cad, a criminal, a racist, a rapist, a lying conman, inventing wholly false stories, broadcasting conspiracy theories, threatening violence, in a state of total mental collapse, and wholly unfit for the Office of Presidency.  Will the Corporate Media call on Old Ugly Weird Traitor Trump and Just Dishonorable Vance to stand down?

Steppenwolf presents: Sanctuary City

 Sanctuary City is the latest play put on Steppenwolf's main stage production, while also being part of their young adult series.

The play by Martyna Majok and directed by Steph Paul (a first generation Haitian American) deals with a pair of Dreamers in that early part of the 21st century as their lives are complicated by the events of September 11.  

The striking aspect of the first act was the return to the concept of Steppenwolf as an experimental theater in this regard both the stage design and presentation.

In the first act, the blue rectangle stage has no adornments and no materials at all.  The first act was frenetic as the two young main characters are left to illustrate their high school relationship via body placement, lighting choices, and movement.  I didn't know how they would keep up such a bouncing energetic pace but, the second act added a love seat, end table, and two-person kitchen table and a third character.  Obviously, at odds with the furniture being made for two.

Thinking about it, I realized the first act represented childhood, a set without bounds, even if the characters face terrible lives.  Now neither character states which country they immigrated from as children with their mother's The male character "B" would seem to be from the Caribbean and the female character "G" would seem to be Mexican.  G faces physical abuse from her mother's boyfriend and B's mother leaves the States having overstayed her Visa by 9 years, leaving him to try and work and get good grades in school, even though scholarships and college are denied to him by his immigration status.

The second act clearly represents the more grounded and limitations imposed by adulthood.  There's even a moment when G hides a birthday cake in the fridge for B (whom she is more or less feeding with her leftovers from work) and he becomes crestfallen as we realize he's 18 now and an adult.

Perhaps more importantly, are the unspoken two choices the characters face;  each character is put to the test of choosing Love or Home.  Even the off-screen mother characters make the choice.  B's mother returning to her Home country and G's mother choosing Love, by leaving her abusive boyfriend only to fall in with another man (who may or may not be abusive) as G bluntly states, 'She can't keep a dick out of that woman'. 

This is another aspect the playwright and actors get absolutely correct, the blunt and often brutal language which doesn't feel like stilted dialogue written for a play.

There is a very dualistic aspect to this play, which is absolutely complicated by the introduction of Henry into the adult second act.  G and B come up with a perhaps childish plan to get fake married int he first act.  And we find out in the second act, G has become frightened of the plan as she nears graduation from "Boston".  But, during the planning phase for the past 3.5 years the two have practiced their answers to questions of how, where, and why they became romantically involved.

But, G has found out B has a partner Henry and she's returned home to confront the situation.  By that action G, tells B she has chosen him and Love even if it's a sham marriage and B is gay.  She tells him she's choosing love even if it isn't romantic love.  This is illustrated quite brilliantly when G answers the question of 'When did your relationship turn romantic',  B stumbles over the answer but G gives a moving description of having claimed into his bedroom to escape another beating and recalls laying in bed with him and feeling his breathe on the back of her neck.  Just excellent.

B, however, has been living with Henry for a couple of years, which she hasn't told G about and B and Henry have had fights over this.  Around Thanksgiving it appears one of the fights turned physical as Henry defensively asserts 'couples fight' and he stole B's shoes to keep him from leaving, but B did leave and called G and that's when she says she's never heard him make sounds like that.  I'm betting that Henry has been physically abusive and B not having the coping skills from childhood could not handle it the way G had done throughout High School.

Again G came down and choose love for B.  And now we come to the tragedy of B, he wants Love but he also wants Home and he feels the situation is criminally unfair that he is being forced to choose.  Home is the United States and Love is Henry, but he can't accept the love represented by G.  So, B comes up with a last second plan for Henry to move with him but Henry balks and obviously chooses Home (i.e. the United States) over Love and tells B the choice has to be his and leaves the stage saying while it's unfair he didn't set up the parameters.

And G leaves so B remains with neither Home nor Love.

Trump loved 9/11, the Taliban, and pisses on the ashes of the WTC dead

Of all the sacred modern conservative shibboleths, September 11, was supreme. Invoked with anger and awe, reverence and rage, 9/11 was too never be forgotten.

So, perhaps it is odd how the Conservative Ubermensch, Donald Trump routinely pisses on the Ashes of 9/11, both back when it happened and currently as President and faces no backlash.

Trump's odious statements and lies about the day that changed everything were once as cheap and tawdry as the man himself. But, now have veered into syphilitic delusions of grandeur and megalomaniacal proclamations of sheer venal mendacity.

Trump praised the Taliban and Al Qaeda for knocking down the Word Trade Center buildings and making Trump Tower the tallest building in New York City.

When the law-breaking ecological monstrosity of Trump Tower in Chicago was being built he demanded it be the tallest building in Chicago, but the design team declined due to terrorism insurance and structural demands necessary post 9/11.

Trump has repeatedly and falsely claimed to have helped first responders at Ground Zero, recently declaring, "I spent a lot of time down there with you." This single disgusting outright lie should be enough to exclude Trump from polite company and ostracize him from America politics and power.

But, lying about 9/11 to #OwntheLibs makes it okay. Always remember conservatives always argue disingenuously.

Now, as the 18th anniversary of the day Republicans utterly failed to defend America approaches, Traitor Trump wants the Taliban to stride triumphantly into the United States so he can prostrate himself before them. If Trump wasn't an enemy asset would you be able to differentiate his actions from someone who was?
