America is awash in easily obtainable firearms, and subsequently victims of gunfire are so commonplace, that a shooting which kills or injuries only one or two people is not news anymore, it takes a mass shooting of almost 10 people to make National News.
In South Carolina 9 shot, in Pittsburgh 10 shot, another 10 shot in South Carolina These incidents were coupled with the massacre in Sacramento and the terror attack in Brooklyn.

Things aren't going to change for along time. Gun Violence is here to stay and any effort to collect weapons is going to be a daunting task. Because the Gun Manufacturing Industry has flooded the Nation with 400,000,000 weapons and the new ghost gun fade is going to get 100% Republican support simply because President Joe Biden and law enforcement officials are against them.
We already have 13,000 dead from guns a third of the year through 2022, on pace for the standard 40,000 a year. But, similarly to the problem of the saturation of guns, gun nuts have been inundated with agitprop and choose to believe all the lies feed to them by the NRA, by gun makers, by, FSB agents, by Republican cowards.
So, since the Sandy Hook Massacre on 2012 and for years before that rightwingers "arguments" for the necessity of unrestricted gun violence haven't changed; i.e. the violence only happens in DemocRAT cities, it's all the fault of blacks, DGUs, most gun deaths are suicides, freedom, blah blah blah...
I can understand why so many have simply given up; it's fatigue like what we've witnessed with Covid. It doesn't matter that an overwhelming majority support gun regulation and are in favor of bans and limits on weapons, a small dedicated and monied kernel of hard core gun humping lunatics are fanatics and are energized to undo all laws, curtail all regulations, and neuter all enforcement to ensure gun violence becomes remains a daily ubiquitous occurrence.

Let's face it----the eternally ongoing "civilian cold war" has incrementally blossomed into a full-on full-frontal, almost coup d'etat social climate.
In spite of the United States' consistent ramblings of "unity" and "from many, ONE" the truth is we've always been a society of various factions who often feel animosity towards some of the others. Hence, conflicts---even between neighbors or even within the family---are just the norm.
You're expecting utopianism from a culture where secret agencies covertly hire thugs and hooligans to raid commercial businesses in large mobs and randomly steal hundreds of dollars of merchandise with impunity and police forces to feign impotence, for the sole purpose of undermining the traditional in-person physical stores and the one-on-one shopping experience for the benefit of companies who run the online businesses.
Have you ever wondered how it is at one time one could be "criminalized" just for nursing a cup of coffee in a restaurant for more than an hour (loitering), but now mobs can raid a business and grab anything they want and never get caught or even pursued? You just KNOW intuitively these aren't REAL criminals but paid agents for a system engaged in some sort of "cultural coup d'etat".
You can't seriously expect any kind of sanity or moral scruples in such a social environment that eschews any kind of transparency and thrives of all manners of deceptions.

Clearly the high level retail thefts IVO Chicago and collar counties is being directed by "someone" and the goods aren't being hawked on the sidewalks of the Mag Mile (although there are homes set up w/ stolen goods and merchandise by some criminals as a secret resale shop) . But, don't conflate the changes in Police pursuit policies which have evolved over the years with some illuminati conspiracy to overthrow brick and mortar stores.
And stealing goods and items from a dry goods store or farmhouse goes all the way to the Revolutionary War, by British Forces, Loyalists, Continental Army Supply Officers and Soldiers.
But, some thefts and some destruction of property is unacceptable. Tea Party Boston and January 6th = Good, Mythical Freedom, and Ultimate Patriotism. Anything which smacks of left wing agitation is a fundamental threat to the Essential Nature of America and must ruthlessly be pt down.
And of course, since the 1960's the US Government has not adopted the maximalist position of rightwing violence so therefore the Federal Government can no longer be trusted. Nowadays even Police and States have been neutered by Leftists and villains in the Democratic Party so Republicans have returned to the idea of Paramilitary Groups using government force (think Texas and Florida) without constraints of Law and Order.
What this is all about in the end is Conservatives have the blinkered (and to be honest unexamined belief that 1776 was the only good revolution = which is why they always harken back to it when attacking Government i.e. 1861, Today) and that the US should be aWhite Evangelical Ethno State with several tiers of Citizenship while we have a robust Police to quell domestic disturbance at home and a powerful military to open up foreign markets abroad( The West, the Pacific, the Middle East, Central America, Cuba)
