U.S. District Judge Stephen P. McGlynn, of the Southern District of Illinois, issued a permanent injunction he said applies universally, not just to the lawsuit’s plaintiffs. He decided, however, that the injunction would not take effect for 30 days. 

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul responded speedily, filing a notice of appeal Friday evening. 

The Protect Illinois Communities Act, signed into law in January 2023 by Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker, took effect Jan. 1. It bans AR-15 rifles and similar guns, large-capacity magazines and an assortment of attachments

The opinion drew heavily from recent landmark Supreme Court rulings expanding on the definition of the Second Amendment’s guarantees.

Erich Pratt, senior vice president of the Gun Owners of America, which represented one of the plaintiffs in the case, said of Pritzker and Illinois lawmakers, “We warned them to fall in line, but they chose to do the opposite."

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!!!  It would seem sophistry and bad faith sentence diagraming of the 250 year 2nd Amendment will be America's epitaph.  Once again the disingenuous reading of the Second Amendment by the Sinister Six on the Supremacist Court means no gun regulations! LOL!  Can we finally put away the notion that 90% of Americans support stronger background checks and tougher gun regulations?  Please?  Because, clearly, Americans do not support this as evidenced by the fact Americans voted overwhelmingly to send back pro gun lobby Senators Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz and put a Tim Sheehy, who shot himself in the arm lied about outrageously, into the Senate?

And can Progressives finally admit their core assumption that Americans will overwhelmingly support Democrats if they pass legislation that helps the working class is the key to election victory, since Joe Biden did this throughout his tenure and voters punished hm and us, not only in the Presidential election but, in numerous House and Senate races?

The American voting body does not vote for Politicians who support their claimed policy preferences.  And young men and women of the so-called Fight For Our Lives Parkland Generation made a dramatic swing towards Trump in this election.

The Gun Owners of America and other proponents of Unrestricted Gun Violence everywhere are more than willing to sacrifice a Chicago Police Officer, or 7 people in Highland Park, because they've successfully conditioned their followers to Myth of the Good Guy.  They "warned us to fall in line" and since we didn't Judge McGlynn used the unassailable Indiana Jones shot a Guy with a sword thus proving Americans have the right to whatever weaponry they desire.
