There is no "epidemic" of police officer killings. I very carefully went through all the numbers on the Officer Down Memorial Page to see whether Ferguson and Black Lives Matter had any impact at all on officer killings and... none. Zero. Same number of officers killed in the 12 month period before Ferguson, as in the 12 month period after Ferguson.<br /><br />In short, they're ginning up an epidemic of police killings out of NOTHING. There's always a chance of being murdered on the job when you're a police officer. But as I've pointed out with statistics on my own blog, it's a chance that's basically equivalent to being the average citizen of a fairly safe big city like San Jose, California -- and police officers are *much* less likely to be murdered than residents of dangerous cities like Oakland or Baltimore.<br />BadTuxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01345749557330760251noreply@blogger.com
